Summary:

Welcome to The Hillside Vacation Home, a prime vacation spot in Twillingate, offering comfort and stunning views. Previously Twillingate's oldest Bed & Breakfast, this house offers a unique experience. It features two bedrooms with queen beds and en-suite bathrooms. Ideal for families and couples, it has a spacious kitchen, dining area, and a cozy living room, all with amazing views of Twillingate's historic harbour.



The Space:

Experience the unique charm of Hillside Vacation Home, a historic saltbox house offering a memorable stay. The ground floor welcomes you with a cozy kitchen and dining area, ideal for preparing and enjoying meals together, and a comfy sitting room with a TV for relaxation. A full bathroom is also available on this level. The second floor unveils two spacious and well-furnished bedrooms. Each bedroom is complete with its own private, full en-suite bathroom and offers stunning harbour views, creating a serene and private escape.

You'll access the home through the front door using a key code.



Other Things to Note:

This historic home has been lovingly cared for an operated as a B&B for over 30 years. The current owners have operated it to rave reviews for 17 years. The previous owner, Mr. Allan Young, grew up in the home and opened its doors as Twillingate's first B&B in 1990. In 2024, the current owners have decided to take a step back and have hired Outport Vacation Properties to manage the home for them in 2024. Outport Vacation Rentals is thrilled to host this beautiful property and continue the tradition.

Great stay in a quiet neighborhood with a nice view. Kitchen and bath are a little bit outdated but very clean.Check in was very easy. Would stay there again!

Great location with a view to the water. Perfect for two couples. Both bedrooms have large ensuites and a window looking out to the harbour. Downstairs space includes separate living room, kitchen/dining room, laundry room and third bathroom. Sad when it was time to leave.

We enjoyed our home away from home. Great location, very clean! A little dated but charming. The kitchen working area was small but functional. The property felt more like a cozy cottage with the older furniture. Communication with Marie was excellent. She replied very quickly and was very helpful. My only issue with this VRBO property was the way the payment structure worked verses previous payments on other VRBO properties. The payments made don’t show up on the site. Separate outside company takes payment. This I found a bit confusing.

Hi Trish, thanks for leaving a review. Since we are a property management company, VRBO has us handle all payments. We do mention this in the booking message, but maybe we can find a way to have it come across more clear. Unfortunately we don't have control how VRBO displays the payments. Very much enjoyed both the location and the venue. Great view, clean facilities, quaint traditional Newfoundland saltbox home. I felt check in time was a bit late, 4 pm, and check out a bit too early, 10 am. I realize this is convenient for the owner but not so much for the guests. The additional Virbo booking fee is a major turnoff, otherwise the rate is reasonable and competitive. There is a noise from the exhaust fan in the 2 bedroom unsuite. Caused by the wind but is annoying. Otherwise we were very pleased with this facility.

loved the house , very charming would definitely come back again. only thing i can offer the host is to have bottled water or tell clients the water is not the best, and to bring drinking water.

We loved our stay at the Hillside Vacation Home. We had everything we could need, great location, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and showers, and lovely decor. The pamphlets and pictures around the house were a nice addition. It was also great to be able to control the heat in each room separately. That allowed us to put on a little heat in the living room while leaving the other rooms unheated. A wonderful stay all around.

Small town appeal

Awesome home and location. The best part was talking with the owners, Winston and Wavey. Interacting with locals is the best part of this fabulous province. A guestbook would be nice. Otherwise, terrific stay! I have already recommended it to friends and family.

Newfoundland 1st time visitors

Older salt box home, but tastefully decorated. brought back memories of our grandparents home. Beds were comfortable,and bedrooms large. Lookout trail behind the property was a bonus. Great view of bay. Weather was HOT, for our 3 day stay, but breeze off of the ocean made living bearable. Could have used a few more utensils in kitchen, and a lobster boil pot, however they were minimal inconveniences. Make sure to take in the Twillingate/DWI dinner theatre
