Relaxing

Friends just wanting to get away from our kids and responsibilities and this cabin was perfect. Close enough to town that we went out for some very nice meals and exploring and a fully functional kitchen for all the snacking and lounging we were looking for. Perfect mom getaway.

Get away with friends

Had a great trip… lots of hiking in giant city and Shawnee forest. Hot tub was great in the evening. Great location. Very responsive and nice host!

Great time in a great place!

Our family was in town to tour SIU - this house was cozy and so nice! Beautifully decorated, well-stocked, and so many thoughtful touches! The hot tub and fire “pit” were such a nice luxury. Thanks so much!

Perfect cabin and area!

This is the greatest cabin! Plenty of sleeping space, and well stocked. The outdoor space was a beautiful oasis. This is the nicest and cleanest hot tub I’ve ever been in! Can’t say enough great things about Steve and his cabin! I love the town of Makanda, and I will be back soon!

Great place in a great location

This place was easy to get to right off the main road. I think this place has all the amenities you could need. The hot tub is very large. The host promptly responded to my questions. Our family of four really enjoyed our stay and hope to again in the future.

Great location

This is a great place to stay if you want to visit Giant City State Park and surrounding area. The house has a small indoor gathering area but the deck is spacious and the hot tub and view of the moon over the golf course were wonderful.

Beautiful stay

Just as advertised- clean, updated and with extra nice touches, including plenty of plush towels, great hot tub and fire table on nice deck. We even were welcomed with snacks. A perfect place to stay

Beautiful house. Quiet surroundings

Really enjoyed our time there. Nice view from the hot tub. House is really nice and fully stocked with everything you would need. Host was awesome.

Great cabin getaway

The cabin was very clean and well kept. It had everything we needed and was very quiet and peaceful. The large back deck was really nice, and was great for grilling. We would highly recommend this property and area. We’d definitely stay here again!

Pleasant

Clean and comfortable. Did not use the hot tub as outside temp was in single digits. Location was great with lots of hiking around and close proximity to city for shopping and restaurants. Would stay again for sure!

Charming cabin in a beautiful area!

We loved the cabin. It was very clean and felt like home. Our favorite part was the back patio. There is a large gas powered long, rectangle “fire pit” with patio furniture on 2 sides of it. We lived sitting there and talking before we got into the hot tub to relax before bed. The host was very responsive and friendly. We will be back soon. It was very romantic for just the 2 of us.

Adventure with my sisters

My sisters and I spent the week in the cabin during a 7 1/2 inch snow event, with temperatures in the single digits. The cabin was as described and we were very comfortable. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen everyday and greatly enjoyed the hot tub. Would come back in the future and hopefully would be able to visit some wineries and do some hiking. Great host!!

Location was a priority. We wanted something close to the hospital in Carbondale for the birth of our first grandbaby. House was clean. Bathrooms were amazing! Hot tub and fire table were wonderful. Highly recommend.

Relaxing Staycation

We had a wonderful stay! The place was spotless and well-stocked with everything we needed. The host was communicative and attentive. The outdoor space was incredibly peaceful, and the hot tub was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Great time

Wonderful property in a nice quite setting!! I think we finally found our new home when we stay in the shawnee!!. Fixed a few things that needed some attention which is no big deal!. Cant wait to stay again in a few months!!.
