Host was great with communication. Only small complaint we have is how the towels are done between house guest. We did take a recommendation in the book the host had and tried out Bayou Bills. Would definitely eat there again!

This is a great house on Miramar Beach

This was my first visit to this property with my wife and grown children. The property is very well kept and is in a great location (probably about 100 yards to white sand and another 100 yards to the beautiful water down a private path). We actually needed 5 bedrooms and it worked out very well by using the 3rd floor loft for someone to sleep on the large sectional. There were also a lot of beach toys, chairs, tents and boogie boards in an accessible part of the carport. I have only 1 complaint and to many people this would be small but it was a big deal to me- the property manager would not give me the access code until about 45 minutes before checkin. Considering that I drove 12 hours from Texas and tried to time picking my children and their spouses up at airports along the way, the lack of an access code made me nervous. I didn't know what we would do if we didn't get that code. Everything worked out fine but that stressed me out. Again, other than that, this is an amazing property and we had a wonderful trip.

Great Location for family beach trip

I give five stars for the location and ability to accommodate two families (four adults, five children) comfortably. The location, as described, is two minutes from the beach. Also, we found the nearby beach to be far less crowded than those located near resorts. Outstanding! Swimming pool is similarly a short walk away. Also, we found the street (a short cul de sac) to be quiet and somewhat secluded even though it is open to the public. If I was to nitpick, the beds weren’t the best. My wife and I slept in the bedroom near the kitchen and that mattress needs to be replaced. Also, the kitchen furnishings were limited. If you plan on cooking at all, bring pots/pans. Also the blue light bulbs in the kitchen were weird. On the bright side, the upstairs and downstairs porches are large and great places to hang out. Our kids also enjoyed the upstairs loft for watching tv or playing video games in the evenings. I would also note that two of our kids slept on the sectional in the loft (without complaint).

Perfect Beach Getaway

This house was in a great location, it was only a short walk to the beach 3 minutes max. The house was beautifully furnished and in a quiet neighborhood. Steve helped us with anything we needed during our stay. I highly recommend this property!

Calm Winds

This is a beautiful property that is well maintained and in the perfect location. My family and I could not have been happier with our vacation. The house is better than described and property manager was very accessible for any questions. Hoping to return in 2022.

Much needed Girls Trip 2021

Not only did we enjoy our friendship but this beautiful updated Gulfside cottage. Was perfect for 7 women for 7 days! I was so happy my friends liked the area and happy to share where my family has been coming for years and staying in this beautiful neighborhood. We all enjoyed the beach which was a short walk down the path, walking distance to surf shop for the Souvenirs for the family members we left behind. The management was on it when I requested that we needed sheets. Added plus the property has fans in each of the closet. Which is Perfect for 7 women that needed them for the sound … not really!!!! My only suggestion would be to place a combo lock on the back door making it easier to enter from the outdoor shower. We had so much fun we decided we will come back in 2022 and book the same property.

Good experience overall

Beautiful property and a reasonable walking distance from the beach. Everything was as described except there was not a queen pull out in the living room that we could find, so 2 of our people had to sleep on a couch. The main living area and kitchen is on the 2nd floor so a lot of stair climbing. Be prepared to be awake at 6am because there are so many windows in the bedrooms. Overall a lovely property.

Great location!

Our stay at Calm Winds was great! The cottage is a corner house with plenty of parking and right by the pathway to the beach. The 4 bedrooms are decorated nice and clean. Plenty of room for our family. The third floor was perfect for the kids. The outside shower was great after coming back from beach to rinse off. The out side grill was good for grilling. The house had everything we needed for cooking, pots, pans, coffee mugs, etc. Even has a washer machine. Beds where somewhat comfortable but I didn't have any problem falling to sleep. The AC works great! Only problem was the fridge, didn't get cold just cool. The outlets is right across the street from 98 and Winn Dixie was perfect for grocery shopping (went there a few times). It was family vacation so we also had other cottage across the street. Which was perfect because we were close by. Will definitely be coming back!

FABULOUS FAMILY VACATION!!!

When families are preparing for a vacation, the anticipation and excitement of the upcoming trip come with high expectations of a dream come true! However, many times after arriving at a destination, those expectations are loaded with disappointments! Not true with CALM WINDS in the Gulfside Cottages!! The owner was so nice to work with and I never doubted that if we needed anything, he would make it happen.....we just never needed him!! We were delighted with the location, cleanliness, and layout of the cottage! We had a party of eight and two small children, so with three bedrooms on the main level and living areas on the second level, those that wanted to go to bed early could and those wanting to stay up later could use the living area and third story loft! The decor was fresh and inviting and all the beds were comfortable with linens and towels that were immaculate! The cottage is situated on a corner that allowed for plenty of parking and a view that was not obscured by other structures. The gate to the beach walkway was directly beside the cottage and maybe 200 steps or less to the sandy beach! It is right across from the Outlet Mall, CVS and a grocery for needed supplies. The kitchen was fully supplied with everything to prepare full meals, but there were also awesome restaurants just down the street in all directions! I would stongly recommend FAT CLAMENZAS just down Hwy 98 towards Destin!! It will be an Italian dining experience that will make you want to go back!! We very much enjoyed our week at CALM WINDS and will definitely go back!!

Great Spring Break

My Family had a great time at Calm Winds. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you need. Its located right next to the beach access and only 5 miles from Destin. Very roomy with 4 bedrooms and a pull out in the loft.Will definitely be going back.
