Wonderful experience in a little piece of heaven. Tropical paradise. If you’ve always wanted to know what it feels like to live in an orchid filled rain forest this is the place for you. Fishing was great from the pier and everyone loved the pool, outdoor grilling setup and well equipped kitchen. Friendly and helpful hosts provided every need.Highly recommended!11

I cannot begin to describe the incredible experience we had staying at the Starfish Villa in Placencia. The house itself was incredibly beautiful, clean and spacious, fully equipped, and the location was perfect. Paul and Gail could not have been more responsive and helpful taking care of our every need. We will be back for sure.

Starfish Villa is absolutely beautiful! It is exactly as described in the listing. It’s a private, relaxing oasis. The house is very near the village for restaurants (we rented a golf cart for the week) and a beach. The property has a great grilling area just off of the pool and the dock was a nice place to enjoy our morning coffee. We only did one excursion because we enjoyed hanging out in the pool so much. The caretaking staff is very accommodating and easily accessible. We will be back! I highly recommend Starfish Villa for a nice relaxing vacation!

Great spot and wonderful hosts

This is a beautiful place to stay in Placencia. Close to everything - restaurants, beach, grocery stores, so no need for a car. The pool and grounds are amazing, and the temperature drops as soon as you walk into the garden!

Great Stay!

Paul & Gail were excellent hosts and the property is just as pictured. The property is well maintained and quite the oasis in Placencia. I will definitely be back!

Our vacation at this villa was outstanding. The property is lushly landscaped, the views are spectacular and the house was fully equipped and spotless. Our hosts and caretakers were very kind and accommodating. We enjoyed meeting them. Placencia is fun to explore with its interesting people, beautiful beaches, artisans and food. Highly recommend Placencia as a vacation destination.

Absolutely perfect!

My family absolutely loved staying at Starfish Villa! We spent several days just relaxing by the pool and exploring the beautiful gardens. It was hard to leave to go on our excursions! I would highly recommend this gorgeous property and we hope to return.

Oasis of relaxation

Fantastic property and hosts! The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is very well appointed, if you like to cook as we do. The grounds, pool and BBQ area are amazing and we put them to full use. Very private and easy walking distance to town. Don't hesitate, book!

Amazing stay

We loved Belize and loved this property. The house, pool, and grounds are amazing. The dock and overwater thatch hut are even better. The property manager Louisa was incredibly helpful and flexible. The hosts were responsive. We loved Placencia, its people, and the food.

We spent a wonderful week in this beautiful home. Paul and Gail were so helpful and provided us with excellent suggestions regarding restaurants and excursions. We will definitely be back.

Gail & Paul were such great, friendly, and accommodating hosts! They picked us up and took us back to the airport. When we arrived, Paul showed us the town where everything was located and even allowed us to stop and buy our initial groceries. They were very informative and helpful! Luisa and her husband, who live on the grounds in a separate villa and maintain the home and grounds, were so friendly and helpful too. The pool and grounds are so amazing and beautiful and the deck over the ocean were highlights of the trip. The home and grounds were like our own little paradise!I would highly recommend staying there!!!! Thanks Gail & Paul!Julie & Whitt

Lovely Home

Gorgeous property. Great place to stay if you're actually spending time at the house to take advantage of the pool, bbq, view, etc. (as opposed to being gone on day trips, diving trips, etc) Probably due for a visit from the exterminator.

Thank you for your five star rating. However, I do not understand how you can rate it when you did not stay here. I am very sorry your vacation was interrupted by your hospitalization and you did not arrive in Placencia. I only wish we could have allowed a full refund despite not knowing you would not be arriving until the day after your expected arrival date/time. As I explained then, any refund would need to be applied for through VRBO directly. We are contractually responsible to adhere to all their policies including those regarding cancellations and refunds. I am objecting to your comment about us needing an exterminator. I truly do not understand this as I can honestly report that neither our caretakers nor your host(s) have seen or experienced any bugs/vermin during your friends stay. While such unwelcome critters are very common in the tropics, and impossible to completely be avoided, we are constantly diligent to minimize their presence while being aware we cannot ethically destroy our environment. No previous guest has ever complained. Please see other reviews.

Relaxation

Starfish Villa was a perfect place to spend a week relaxing with family. The unit is great and the property grounds are beautiful. Pool was very refreshing in the 35-40 degree heat. Gail was a great host who is a good source of info for local places to eat, things to see, etc.

Everything was WONDERFUL! (And immaculately clean)The grounds and gardens were pristine and the Pier, that we had coffee on every morning, had beautiful wood chairs and cushions. We loved sitting out there, on the edge of the ocean, just relaxing, getting some sun and even saw dolphins. Clean, well appointed kitchen (everything you needed)The staff lined up couples massages and they came to the house and did those outside by the pool. Amazing!Situated close to everything (we had bikes so it was easy to get everywhere). And since its on the waterway, you can easily get picked up via boat to go fishing, etc.Gail was lovely and Paul was more than hospitable when he picked us up at the airport. Overall, an amazing week with many new memories made!

Beautifull villa on ocean with pool just as described in VRBO. House has everything you need. 10 minute walk to Placencia village shops and resteraunts. Host are awesome and very responsive to any needs. Highly recommend!!!!!

Beautiful Property

The house and outdoor area were absolutely beautiful; it truly is like a tropical paradise. There are several nice places outdoor to have evening cocktails including the palapa, the covered deck on top of the house, and the pool area. The house was easy walking distance to the village with several good restaurants. And the caretaker was very helpful. Overall, it was a great experience.

Exceeded Expectations!

Starfish Villa was just perfect! The grounds and home are beautiful and well-maintained with thoughtful touches that were much appreciated. Gail & Paul are excellent hosts--friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Watch for dolphins and rays from the palapa, enjoy sunset on the roof, or listen to some music while lounging by the pool, all in a premiere location! We can't wait to go back to Placencia and to stay at Starfish Villa again!

Private Oasis with beautiful garden, pool, and views of the ocean

Property is beautiful. We stayed 7 nights and enjoyed cooking at the property, lounging in and around the pool and on the private deck. We walked into town to enjoy dinner every evening. Locals are friendly. There are lots of options for dinner in town. We enjoyed several tours with snorkling, fishing and the Jungle Monkey tour. It was super hot but cold AC in the house and while the power did go out in town, the homes generator worked to perfection. A great vacation!
