Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: La Maison on Main is a lovely rental in the heart of Harbor Springs. Location could not be better! Master suite is especially nice with a balcony and view of the Harbor. Vacation Properties is so responsive and available 24 hours a day to answer questions and resolve issues. Fabulous, well equipped kitchen with high end appliances. This was my second time staying at La Maison on Main and I will definitely be back next year!!

A Peaceful Home Base in the Heart of Harbor Springs

Reviewer Comments: La Maison on Main sits right in the middle of Harbor Springs, and it's exactly what you want a home base to be: quiet, comfortable, and close to everything. Walk a minute and you're standing at one of the prettiest harbors on Lake Michigan. Walk a few more and you're in shops and restaurants.The house itself is well equipped — a solid kitchen, updated bathrooms, and a patio that's perfect for morning coffee or an evening drink after a day on the water. You can tell the owners take real care of the place; everything felt fresh and well kept.Two weeks here, and it's exactly what made our Michigan trip feel complete. If you're heading to Harbor Springs, this is the house to reserve.

This property is in a great location, but be sure you understand the parking, and guest responsibilities before you book. The listing states "Parking Available" and "there is on-street parking only. A parking map will be provided seven days before arrival". These statements are not quite true. There is on-street parking available, but there is a three hour time limit. Overnight, and 48 hour parking is in one of the city lots that is a couple of blocks from the house. You won't know this until after you book, pay your deposit and sign their contract. The entrance to the rental is down an unlit alley behind the store front. The alley doesn't accommodate a car, so when arriving you must either double park out front, or carry your things from your parking spot...not exactly convenient. We didn't receive the "parking map" until the day we arrived, so we were very frustrated trying to figure out the parking and unloading. As a guest you are responsible for taking the trash bins to the curb, and will receive a text reminding you to do so on time. I thought I was on vacation and paying to have the luxury of not taking the trash out. The listing says "lake view", but you barely get a glimpse from the balcony or patio. Finally, you don't deal with the owners. You deal with their paid assistants who don't know about the area or the property. These are issues of transparency that soured our experience. They may not have been deal breakers if they had been more transparent

The listing explains that parking is on-street or in nearby city lots, and that a parking map and additional property details are provided seven days before arrival. This information was provided within the stated timeframe. While some areas have a three-hour parking limit during the summer, that restriction was not in effect during your fall visit. The parking map outlines the available options and restrictions. Regarding the trash, bins are provided for guest use, and we ask that they be moved approximately 25 feet to the curb on the designated pickup day to prevent trash from accumulating. After you expressed concerns about this responsibility, we offered multiple times to take care of it for you, but those offers were declined. The listing also includes photos and descriptions of the property's entrance and layout, along with the view of Harbor Point and Lake Michigan from the upper balcony. We encourage prospective guests to review the listing details and photos carefully before booking and to contact us with any questions. Finally, our rental management company has served the Harbor Springs area for over 16 years. Our team is in the unit regularly and is very involved with the community, so we can answer any questions you send our way. We strive to be transparent about our properties and provide guests with the information they need to make informed booking decisions. We're sorry that the details already outlined in the listing did not align with your expectations.

Our rental was clean and very conveniently located in town, the unit was equipped with everything you would need as far as cooking . GREAT STAY .

Great spot

This was a great rental for a weeklong getaway. Situated downtown, the location was great and felt very safe. Neighbors were friendly and the fenced in patio provided some additional privacy. The house was very clean and kitchen well equipped. Will definitely book again.

Great location in the middle of downtown. Parking situation isn’t ideal (especially with loading and unloading), but at least the public lot is close for overnight. Overall cleanliness was good, with exception of a few things.

Great location!!

Great location! Perfect home for our family of 5 getaway! Just remember to not leave your car parked in one spot for too long. You’ll get a ticket!

Although the City of Harbor Springs does not have paid parking, like most cities do, they do have time limits in place. To help guests avoid getting a ticket, we offer a map showing all the parking areas and their time restrictions. Gem in Harbor Spring

We had the most wonderful time in Harbor Springs and this place was just perfect for our family of four. Location could not be beat. Literally everything you could need or want just steps from your door, but still very quiet and private. We stayed a full week and never felt cramped. Beds were very comfortable, A/C units worked great, kitchen had everything we needed. Loved having the extra bathroom downstairs, and the string lights on the patio in the evening were a nice touch. We hope to be back!!

Wonderful stay

We rented this property for a weekend girls trip. The location was superb and the house was so tidy and well decorated. We really enjoyed our time and the property management company made check-in and other communication very easy. We were told ahead of time that the ice machine wasn’t working, and when we arrived they provided a bag of ice, which was very helpful for our stay. I highly recommend this rental and we will be renting from here again when we return. One heads up is that the address on the materials doesn’t match the address on the door so it was a little tricky to find at first. That being said, the neighbors and shops around were very helpful.
