We love the Stone Room! It's the perfect place to base trips around the southern Black Hills and the rooms are lovely and quirky and cozy.

Incredible place to stay. So much character, color, and consideration. I loved it and have already recommended it to all of my friends who plan to visit the SD National parks/monument/memorial nearby.

Loved this place. Would recommend. Had a slight hiccup with getting the wrong code to get into the room but was able to get a hold of the host and was in the room within 5 minutes of it happening. When things don't go as planned, having it solved quickly makes it better as it shows the host cares and is attentive. Shower was incredible and linens were fresh and soft. Pull out sofa was comfortable. Location was good as well and after a long day driving was nice to be able to walk to a few restaurants on the street.

Christmas in The Black Hills

Great location in town. In room kitchenette is perfect for coffee and light fare items. The shared kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals for a group.

It was a charming spot with in suite coffee and fridge with a great bathroom for a couple. It was perfect for us.

Hot Springs Stay

Property clean and as advertised. Quiet, and good access. Glass in entrance door was all smeared up, needs a good housekeeper, if you will!

Stay here!

I was blown away at how wonderful this spot is and the vibe of the unit itself is so cozy. The double headed showers are nice and having common area for cooking and laundry was a huge bonus to us. The town of hot spring is quite walkable so this unit is perfect for exploring the town me and my partner did not have the best look with food here so again the kitchen was appreciated. All in all I will only stay here from now on it’s truly a wonderful unit and close to everything you could want to see.

The property was nice. It is in a very old building and that shows but it did not take away from the experience of the stay. The apartment that we stayed in was just like the pictures. if you are planning to use the kitchen know that it is a shared kitchen and there is no A/C in the kitchen area. It was VERY warm and not a place that I would like to be cooking. Over all I was happy with the apartment and our stay. I would absolutely come back to stay.

Quaint location

The location in the heart of town was easy to locate. The room and building had a lot of character. The bed was comfortable and our children each made due with the pullout couch and chair. Lack of doors prevented privacy, bathroom being the only door in the room itself. The shower was very nice. The communal kitchen was utilized and could tell previous people that stayed don't have the same cleaning priority as our family. Not the fault of the owners.

Never again

I feel you need to find out for yourself. Instructions are muddy unless changed before review. Not handicap accesible toilet, which I asked. I knew there were steps so you know that going in. Had knee replacement 2 months ago so could handle 26 steep stairs. Nice luggage cart saved me. Room has dust issues. Host is not very friendly imo

leeann, you called and messaged several times before your stay. All your questions were answered, and pictures of the Stone Room and the building are on the website where you made the reservation. You brought a pet you did not mention on your reservation and you broke the house rules, which were clearly shared with you before your stay, using the kitchen and laundry room after hours. We hope you find a place to stay that fits your needs next time.

The room is amazing. It is cute and homey just as shown in the pictures. It worked well for my daughter and I during our 4 day stay. The host was very responsive and helpful. The location was ideal for visiting our family and getting to experience the fun of the downtown area. The only issue I had was that I am deathly afraid of heights and did not realize the stairs were so steep. Unfortunately the only way in and out of the building was up the stairs. The photos do show stairs, I just didn’t think they were that steep. Overall we loved the whole experience and will be back next summer!!
