Pros: Good location between Yellowstone and Cody. Beautiful views from deck. Well stocked cabin. The ladder leading upstairs was fun for my older kids. Felt like a treehouse.Cons: When we arrived the carpet near the dishwasher was soaking wet. I let propety management know, but we dried up the carpet ourselves and washed dishes by hand the rest of the trip. The bedding on one of the beds had what looked to be dried snot on it, so I had to do laundry as soon as we arrived to clean the bedding. The shower smelled like urine. I don't know if it was blow back from the sewer line or a previous guest used the shower as their own personal urinal, but I spent time scrubbing down the shower myself with the bleach they had on hand to get rid of the smell for our time there. The carpet has stains. Couch was old and itchy. Some of the outdoor stairs could use repair! There was no smoke alarm on the second floor that I could see. No air so just know you will be hot in the summer. I knew that before going in. That was expected.I am not accustomed to writing a critical review, but for the price point, I am sure others could find a better value elsewhere. Otherwise, plan on cleaning it before using it. With a little more investment and updating, Loren's Lookout could be a fabulous place to stay (i.e., new couch, new flooring, portable air conditoner, smoke alarm).
