Highly recommend. Private rural location with deer, turkey, and sandhill crane sightings. The home is well maintained and provides a home feel atmosphere. Bedrooms seemed better than the pictures. Smooth checkin and checkout with good communications with the manager.

It was a fabulous place, for a family gathering! It was wonderful! It was great for young children with the huge lawn to run up and down...they pulled the dock out of the lake and didn't tell us so we were a little dissapointed to not have that access.It's a lovely place, wonderful rooms, great porch and kitchen!The hard part was being threatened if we weren't out of there by 11 am on Sunday we would be charged 50 every 15 minutes....with small children, a bunch of people having breakfast, and with the price of what was paid for this lovely place it made it very stressful to clean up pack up and get out of there. There was no need to rush us out of there like that, no one was using the place after us.The local person I dealt with was very kind and helpful...

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful Long Lake home in Northern Michigan! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked, which made cooking meals together so easy and enjoyable.One of our favorite parts was being able to use the kayaks and canoes right on the lake. Such a relaxing and fun experience. The property felt peaceful, comfortable, and truly like a getaway. Every detail of the home made it feel welcoming and thoughtfully prepared for guests.We made so many great memories here and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing lakeside vacation with all the comforts of home!

Loved our stay!

We loved everything about this house! It was very clean and cute and the check in process was very easy. There is also a view of the lake and you can walk down to it (lots of stairs but it was fine for us). Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful week at Sandhill House. The setting is special — tucked at the end of a private drive, surrounded by woods and quiet, with beautiful Long Lake at the bottom of the yard. It’s the perfect backdrop for a family trip: our five-year-old twins spent every day between the dock, the water, and the yard, and every evening we were fishing and watching the sun go down.The house itself is comfortable and spacious, thoughtfully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen that made cooking for the family easy all week (the gas grill got a workout). Central AC kept everything cool, and there was room for everyone to spread out without ever feeling far apart. The kayaks and canoe were a highlight — we were on the water constantly — and the swimming was fantastic.The location is a great home base too: minutes to Crystal Lake and Beulah, a short drive to Frankfort, and an easy day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes.We made memories here we’ll be talking about for years. We could not recommend Sandhill House more, and we’re already planning to come back next year.

The house was amazing! The hosts thought of literally everything you would need for a wonderful vacation right down to high quality shampoo and conditioner, every seasoning you would ever need for cooking, games and toys for adults and children, everything for a kitchen but the food, and very good directions and instructions about how to use everything in the house. The only thing I was disappointed in was the stairs to the lake/boats, dock. They were very steep and there were a LOT of them so I wasn’t able to take the grandchildren down to use it. But I made the climb multiple times and so enjoyed the kayaks and the lake!!! It was the highlight of the week for me!! This place is amazing!! Highly recommended!

Excellent kitchen. Clean with beautiful dishes, and appliances. Has a great big table for wonderful conversations with amazing views. The living room was just a beautiful. Main floor master suite was wonderful. The second floor had four huge beautifully decorated rooms with different themes. The host collected art and designed these rooms so creatively. You felt their love of our beautiful state of Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and all things nature. The beds, linens, pillows, and towels were high quality. I didn’t want to leave.

Great House - Superb Stay

The Sandhill house is located beautifully with great views of the lake. Almost all rooms have great views. We enjoyed staying in the house for a weekend and the host is very responsive. Absolute 5 stars for communication with the host.

Beautiful stay on Long Lake!

We truly enjoyed our stay on Long Lake! This house is perfect for families and friends alike. The view of lake is lovely and we loved the big yard with lake access. There were several well setup bedrooms including a kids bunk room. We definitely hope to be back with a larger group!

Excellent House

The house was perfect for our family. Spacious bedrooms and well-equipped house. Very spacious, clean and the accessibility to the lake was great. It was nice and quiet all day, every day. We enjoyed the back patio and took advantage of it every afternoon/evening. Easy access to surrounding towns.

The kitchen is well supplied with any pot, pan or dish you may need. Big enough for 2 -3 people to move around comfortably.The back yard was huge with fire pit and chairs to relax. Room to stretch out.The house was so very nice. Each of us had our own bedroom. So, once again, we could spread out.Living room furniture was comfortable and the dining room table was just what we wanted for talking, eating and visiting with each other.The location is near so many things. Moomers ice cream, beaches, and shopping. We couldn't have asked for a better place for us 60 year old, friends to be together and have a visit. Thank you

Beautiful Home!

Perfect home for large family gathering. We needed a 4-5 bedroom home. This house is spacious, large open kitchen/living area. We were visiting between Christmas and New Years and view was beautiful. Would like to visit again in the summer. Views of lake and dunes from the house are beautiful.Look forward to visit again.

The house is beautiful! The minute we walked we could all feel how peaceful and quiet it is. Each room is very comfortable. We especially loved the comfy couches and chairs in the living room to watch two World Cup games. The art work fit so well everywhere! It was very thoughtfully put together. The kitchen had everything we needed for all our cooking. We had intended to have a few meals out but sadly on our 5th day there, wild fire smoke from northern areas blanketed the area and so we stayed in. It was so fortunate the house was comfortable and spacious enough that we were able play games, do crafts, watch movies and keep us all occupied from a 5 year old to 75 year old! Early in our visit we were able to use the kayaks and the kids tried their luck at fishing from the dock. The owners were kind enough to have enough life jackets of various sizes for kayaking and cannonball jumps off the dock. There was so much room for the kids to run around in the backyard playing tag and keep away. We had a portable badminton set that also got good use! Katie (property manager) and Eric (from Agape Rental) were VERY responsive and quickly answered our many questions. We had a wonderful time at Sandhill House!

Great find

Perfect large, quiet house for our family of 11. Decor was impressive. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking in. Large backyard for yard games. We spent much time on the back porch with view of lake. Large dock with seating was used daily. Quiet lake made canoe and kayaks a pleasure to use. Many steps to dock but doable for all. Location was great-20 minutes to everything-the Dunes, hiking trails, Glen Arbor, beaches, Frankfort. Everyone loved the area and the house. Property manager very responsive.

Great Property and quiet area! Pictures don't do the house justice!

We stayed here for our annual family/friends vacation. There was ample room for all of us and everyone got their own bed. The kitchen supplies was sufficient and the fridge space was great to store all our pre-made food for two large families. The only down fall was the incredibly steep climb on some pretty rickety stairs down to Long lake. We opted to not use the kayaks and canoes since we came back with a couple ticks from the short visit to the dock. One other negative was none of the windows had darkening shades. The light came in the rooms SUPER early so sleeping in wasn't much of an option. Overall, I'd absolutely stay here again and definitely would recommend the property to any one else I know traveling to the same area.

Sandhill House

We loved Sandhill House! A wonderful gathering place for my family vacation in an amazing well appointed house. The location was great -we did the dunes, Glen Arbor, Empire Bluffs hike and beach, Beulah/Frankfort bike trail not to mention lots of time kayaking and fishing on Long Lake. We really appreciated the bonfire area and Adirondack chairs for our evening gatherings too and early morning time. We cooked our own meals most nights. The kitchen was so well equipped, beginning with the coffee bar to dishes, pots and pans and outdoor grill area. Perfect and easy all around. Definitely a big, big plus! We can't sign off without complimenting the owners or decorator on the art work, bed linens, pillows etc. throughout the house. It was all tastefully and beautifully done. Thank you!
