Craftsman Cottage minutes from the Mississippi River.

The 1924 Craftsman cottage has a furnished front porch, an open floor plan, restored original wood floorsk and lots of window light. Located on large, private lot walking distance to the Mississippi, riverfront park, downtown Marquette and Casino.

There is one bedroom with a king-size bed, closet and antique dresser. The second bedroom has two twin beds and is adjacent to the living room. A renovated "Jack & Jill" style full bathroom connects both bedrooms and has a tub-shower, fluffy towels, vanity and hair dryer. One set of towels (one each: wash cloth, hand towel & bath towel) are provided per guest. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer and one roll of toilet paper are provided per stay. The open living room has a full size sofa, armchair and smart TV for use with your steaming accounts. The cottage has 5G wifi throughout, central air conditioning and heat. Games and books available for use during stay. The cottage does not have a landline telephone.

Full kitchen includes dining table with seating for 4-8, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, teapot, pots & pans, dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, salt/pepper, olive oil and vacuum cleaner. Hand soap, dish soap, a new sponge and one roll of paper towels are provided per stay. Washer, dryer, detergent, iron and ironing board are available in the basement. An additional toilet is also available in the basement.

Our large lot is very private, with a dining set on the pleasant fenced-in patio, lounge chairs, additional picnic table, new charcoal grill with tools (charcoal not provided), two large side yards, and a basketball hoop on the main driveway (basketball provided). Ample room for parking a boat or RV in driveway.

This location was very convenient to the sites we wanted to visit, including Fort Louis, Pike Peak State Park and Effigy Mounds. The house had everything we needed for our stay!

Have stayed here several times on trips with friends. Nice property and the street is quiet. Is just a walk down the hill to the casino. Host is communicative.

Nice stay, very nice rental property.

Stayed with good friends here late Sept 2024. Had a nice time. Very clean and comfortable, with great 50’s decor and b&w photos of the place back in the day. Really no complaints. Would stay again.

The perfect place to rest your feet after hiking all the lovely trails the area has to offer. Really appreciate the full kitchen as someone who travels with food allergies. Loved all the touches of family history.

Loved this Craftsman Cottage!

My friends and I loved this charming little home. It was perfect for three retired women who could truly appreciate the love and memories this family home holds. We loved the family photos throughout the house. We loved the privacy the house has and the front porch was perfect for lingering morning coffees and evening conversations. This home will bring back memories and you will love it.

Weekend Getaway

We had a nice quiet anniversary weekend. The house was very clean and had all the necessary items. Its nicely remodeled yet keeps its old charm.The neighborhood is very quiet and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the evenings. There is also patio furniture in the backyard. Communication was great with the owner. Its a beautiful atea. We did stuff on both sides of the river and this was in the perfect location.

Comfy Retro Cabin

This property was very nice. Clean throughout and it provided all the accommodations we could want. The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. The location was a nice short drive to all the area attractions, restaurants, and stores. A few small things to be aware of: The property is behind a busy train line, and there is a crossing near the entrance to the neighborhood and the train stops on it sometimes, so you may need to go around the long way to get to the place from McGregor instead. The main king bed is VERY firm, so you may need to run to the Walmart for a mattress topper if your back can't handle it. (Really, I think the owner should replace it with something a bit softer as we had to sleep in the twin beds the second night because we couldn't take it.) The bathroom is a little tight because of the toilet to vanity gap being small. And last, the basement is open to the kitchen, and there's some mechanical noise happening down there most of the time. It's quiet enough, and really only noticeable because of how silent the neighborhood is (besides the train horns). In the grand scheme of things, these are very minor complains, but we wanted to make sure other visitors were prepared. All that being said, we still enjoyed our stay. We would absolutely recommend staying here. This is worlds better than any local hotels, and easily the nicest rental in the area that was designed for a couple or smaller family. Next time we're in the area, we'll stay again.

Great location that made it easy to go to surrounding towns. Street was a bit busy with traffic but was very quiet even with the casino within walking distance. House had super cute character and was the perfect size for our small group. Would definitely stay again if we go back to the area!

Communication with the host was very easy and she messaged me promptly at booking and the day before checkin with instructions. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with good access to downtown McGregor and Prairie Du Chien. The house was nice enough - it felt like staying at grandma’s. The front and back porch were nice. The house was clean, with the exception of a few too many hairs in the shower and the beds. But I can get over that. Overall great experience, gorgeous area, and I would have no hesitation booking again if I was in the area!
