Perfect stay!

Super clean, just the right size for two people! Gorgeous patio and view of the hills. Easy access to downtown Lafayette and 24, but far enough away to be quiet and secure. Would happily stay again!

Everything was clean and nicely set up. Beautiful yards. Plenty of privacy. Coffee maker acted up, had a new one same day. Great host.

Beautiful space, fantastic hospitality

Spent a full week, relocating to the area. The apartment was well appointed and cozy. The outdoor space was nice (though was still a bit chilly during my stay).

This is a special oasis in the original Lafayette hills

Don's guest house is a rare find in the Lafayette /Orinda/ Walnut Creek area. I am a native who has lived away for decades and this place is the character of why the Bay Area was a great place to be from!

Charming

The apartment was comfortable and so cute, with all the upgrades. The yard was beautiful and the host friendly. We will stay here again next time we are in Lafayette.

Quiet peaceful stay.

Don is a great host, very attentive but left us alone. The property is in a quiet neighborhood of Lafayette. You will need a car. Wonderful place for going on walks.

Great place!

I've stayed at Don's apartment three times now. It's always clean and very comfortable. I do wish the kitchen were a little better equipped, but that's just a personal preference.

Very nice, clean, well thought out apartment. We loved it and hope to return. Don was great host.

This was one of the nicest accommodations we have ever stayed in in the Lafayette area. Everything seemed upgraded, especially the kitchen and bathroom. Don put a lot of thought into making guests feel very much at home and having all of our needs met. We hope to return again on our next trip to California.

A Slice of Paradise

Our best VRBO experience by far! Host was very responsive, unit was well stocked to meet any needs, neighborhood and the backyard in particular with squirrels and birds and gardens provided a restful, tranquil setting for enjoyment and relaxation, including a pool. Would love to stay there again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Peaceful home away from home

this is our second time at Donald's place. It is a perfect location for us when we visit family. Lovely area for walks and a short drive away from great restaurants and shopping options in downtown Lafayette. The place is very comfortable, about the only complaint I have is the lack of heat in the bedroom, especially felt this year because of the unusually long and wet winter.

Very comfortable!

This VRBO is extremely comfortable. Its location is excellent. Parking is very easy. The neighborhood is beautiful. It was nice to have the fireplace and full size washer and dryer. Don was extremely helpful and attentive and very pleasant to work with. I would definitely consider returning to this unit. Thank you Don!!!

House Hunting

We needed housing for 30 days while we searched for a home to purchase in Walnut Creek area. This vacation rental served our purpose. We had all the basics we needed for a 30 day stay. Plus, we had access to a pool and a fireplace. Don was extremely responsive to all of our questions and needs. Would definitely recommend this vacation rental to anyone seeking a comfy place to stay for a week or even a month. Pat and Charlie

Wonderful experience!!

The apartment was the perfect home away from home. We were in town to visit family and did not want to stay five days in a hotel. The apartment was everything we hoped; convenient, quiet, private, very clean, very well appointed, very nice. It was so enjoyable to get up in the mornings, make our own coffee and breakfast, relax and enjoy the beautiful view from our windows. We will definitely be back and are passing info on to other family/friends who will visit the area. Thanks so much!!

Home Away From Home

We loved our stay at Rahara Rental. Don is a fantastic host. He responded quickly even though he was on vacation at the time of our request. That was greatly appreciated. Everything was as described, very clean and well maintained. We have already recommened it to friends. We will rent it again when we are in the area. We loved Lafayette Park and it is so close. The area is beautiful. We are looking forward to more time there. Thanks Don for making this property available.

Coz;y and Convenient

This studio apartment is in a lovely, safe neighborhood of single-family homes about two and a half miles from downtown Lafayette. Located on the lower level of the primary residence, it is suitable as a quiet hotel alternative. Designated off-street guest parking is on the home's side where outdoor stairs lead to the rental's private entrance in the backyard. The host, Don, is very accommodating and obviously takes pride in his property. We chose to introduce ourselves to express our thanks but were otherwise afforded our privacy. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the furnishings are attractive and comfortable throughout. We were very happy with our stay while visiting family nearby.

Great apartment, great location

This apartment is ideal for a single or for a couple. The rooms are spacious, and numerous windows offer ample natural light and views of the beautiful yard and the nearby hills. The adjacent laundry room provides extra space to store suitcases and other supplies. The location is ideal for access to the Bay Area. The Lafayette BART station is a 5 minute drive away, and downtown Oakland is only a 15 minute drive. We enjoyed frequent walks at Lafayette Reservoir, a 5 minute drive away. A paved 3-mile nature trail circles the reservoir, providing beautiful views and numerous bird sightings. Don is a friendly and helpful host. He made sure everything was right during our stay.

Delightful stay in the East Bay

I am a native of the Bay Area who now lives in another state. This owners vacation rental was a wonderful staging point for me during my ten day stay. What I liked about the place: it was very clean, had lots of windows. I enjoyed sleeping with the windows open for fresh air , however the unit has air conditioning if needed. The gas fire place was great..it heated up the unit nicely. The bathroom was furnished with plush towels and wash cloths. Having a washer and dryer on premises was a big plus for me. The unit has fast and easy access to town and the freeway which leads to Oakland/SF westward and walnut creek and other points eastward. My very minor suggestions: a luggage rack (to unpack ones luggage) in the bedroom would be welcomed and an ottoman or foot stool for the living room chairs would make watching TV more comfortable. Otherwise perfect..

Second stay

This was my second stay in this charming apartment. It really has everything you need and is in a great location. Didn't see the owners at all this time as it's very private but in my previous experience, they're very responsive. The fireplace is one of my favorite things about the apartment. I would turn it on every morning as soon as I was up and again every evening. In the summer, I imagine the pool would be every bit as nice.

Perfect!

I was in the area visiting family and this was a perfect home base. It was December and I loved having the fireplace. The kitchen was well equipped and it was very quiet and private. I also loved having the washer and dryer right there. It was like having a home away from home. I'm already booked to go back in a few months and can't wait to use the outdoor fireplace when the weather's a little nicer.

This is my home. I hardly ever used the lower portion so I have had it professionally converted. It is a wonderful place to stay if you like quiet, a valley view and quick access to San Francisco.

Lots of natural light, tranquil views, large patio area for sitting out side, jump in the pool to cool off in the summer or sit in front of the outdoor gas fireplace.
