We had an excellent stay in the Bean Cottage! It was conveniently located to Boone, Blowing Rock and so many places to visit, hike, eat, etc. The place was clean and comfortable with a stocked kitchen (even some goodies for snacking!). We hope to return again!

We rented this beautiful cottage for 8 days. To say it was the PERFECT place would be an understatement. Dawn, our host, was so helpful and communicative. We checked into a meticulously clean home with every amenity you could think of having. You feel like you’re secluded from the hustle and bustle of a crowded downtown, yet it’s a quick drive to the campus and all of the adorable restaurants. This will be the only place we rent in the future. Thank you so much for your hospitality, Dawn.

Fully fenced yard. Well stocked kitchen. Great place to stroll along the road to see horses, goats, and cattle. Stayed in several rentals over the past 10 years in Boone and this one is right up there as one of the best! Dawn and John were quick to respond. We’ll be back.

It was exactly how it looked online and as cute as described. We had a lovely weekend, only 11min from the dorms and a beautiful drive. As an alumni, it was very nice to be back in the mountains.

Comfortable and clean cottage

We loved how well stocked, clean and cozy The Bean Cottage was! We had a hiking weekend in Boone planned, and this house was convenient both to our hikes and also to downtown Boone for a celebratory dinner after a long hike. Will definitely be back!

Great driveway and bathroom. Hot water with great water pressure with 3 people showing. Probably the nicest washer and dryer Iv used in any rental. Central AC was perfect! The pots and pans were well taken care of and definitely the best Iv used in a rental. Super soft beds so if that’s your thing you will love them. Good internet and TV in each room was nice. Beautiful lamps that dim were very cool. Lots of extra things like paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, laundry, shampoo and conditioner, tower fans and more were extra special and nice to have. Even had snacks and water out for us. The only thing was no window covering or blinds in the kitchen over the nice big sliding glass doors. Local eggs next door at Shipley Farm, and they sell beef and give tours which was a relaxing way to spend the morning. Cool creek runs next to the yard as well with an easy way down to the water.

The cottage was immaculate when we arrived. This was the third time we have stayed in the cottage and hope to stay there whenever we are in Boone. Dawn is an excellent host and always gets back with us promptly with any questions we have. It’s easy to find and so convenient to anywhere you would want to go. Hope to stay there again soon.
