This was a great rental. The host communicated well with me and responded quickly. I loved my stay at this rental. Everything the host had in the description was true and helpful to me to plan my stay accurately. The host was very accommodating. I would definitely book again.

I loved how accommodating it was for our two families to ve under one roof. Loved being so close to our family we were visiting. Walking distance to a swim area. It was a great weekend. Thank you!! Enjoyed having all the amenities of home without having to pack it all and bring it.

Well-equipped kitchen so it was perfect for having family from nearby Millville over for lunch. Great location and proximity to the beach. Loved the upstairs veranda with windows all-around giving a great view of the water. Excellent communications with the host. Will definitely stay again the next time we’re in the area.

Our stay could not have been more pleasant. What a great little town on the water with such friendly people. We even made friends with the neighbors down the street! Megan was an excellent host and everything was better than we expected. We hope to stay at the same place anytime we're in town!

Place was clean! My wife has allergies most dog friendly places she chomes and hates the stay. She koved this place it was so clean no dog hair. The sunsets over the oceab amazing

This was the perfect place for me and my greyhound! I was tagging horseshoe crabs with the American Littoral Society on Fortescue Beach and the location was superb! The protected areas of the beach are prime stopover places for the migratory shore birds to find and feed on horseshoe crab eggs as they head north to their breeding grounds. I saw many of them in the surrounding marshes and on the Delaware Bay beach! This is a naturalist's delight! I am hoping this lovely beach home will be available again next May when the tagging schedule opens again.

Megan was an excellent host. She was quick with communication and available for questions and concerns. The property is adorable, cozy and stocked with everything you need. My family and I had a great stay and will be returning next summer.

Family fishing trip

We stayed for 3 nights there were 4 adults and 4 kids the property was clean and fit us perfectly close to the beach for shore fishing and there was a marina around the corner! We docked out boat and were able to enjoy the bay! During low tide my kids put their hip waders on and caught a lot of crabs! We had such a great time. The owner was very responsive to messages sent as well. We would definitely rent there again

Nice place

The house is situated just across the street from the bay. You can see the bay from the second floor.The second floor is accessible via a steep set of stairs. The shower is small, but great hot water and pressure.

Nice Getaway

This is a great location if you know Fortescue. Close to the south end beach. Very clean an AC is every room so no problem cooling off. Stairs are not as bad as reviewed and owner provides access to multiple apps on the TV. It's very clean with anything you need is provided. Just bring bug spray!

The perfect quiet hideaway with easy access to a variety of natural habitats like beaches, marshlands, forest hiking and STUNNING sunsets. A really wonderful, magical little spot for amateur naturalists and photographers like myself. The house is very well maintained, great welcome package instructions and tips, so close to a magical stretch of beach off the DE bay. It’s a great spot for introverts. Convenient parking, amenities are great, lots of neat little nooks in the house, whether you want to watch the sunset or hide away with a book. I’ve been thinking about when I can come back since the day I left. I took many walks to the beach just down the road to explore the local habitat. It was fun to watch the fishermen, got to see a bit of the horseshoe crab migration (tried to help a few crabs get back in the water), and the night sky was FANTASTIC.

Our weekend getaway!

My partner and I had the best weekend getaway at Megan's place! Prior to our check in, Megan kept consistent and constant communication regarding the details of our booking. This place is SUPER pet-friendly! Our doggos had a great vacation as well. Check in was simple and smooth, the property looked exactly like the pictures in the listing! We were able to escape the heat (and bugs) by relaxing in the cool air of the space. The home was clean and cozy! With some of the softest blankets we have ever felt haha. One last note, there is a private beach area in walking distance from the property! We were able to enjoy a relaxing day on the beach, free of most other people, it felt very private! So many cool horseshoe crabs to look at as well. We can't wait to book another stay with Megan! We truly had the best time.

Perfect little getaway

We were so comfortable during our stay! The house is very cute and was clean. The stairs are a little sketchy and I would be cautious of elderly or young children going up and down. You do have to go through all 3 bedrooms to go downstairs but for a single family that was just fine. The sun rooms were my favorite part of the house and I enjoyed watching eagles fly around. There was a beautiful eagles nest towards the back of the property. Out front there was house construction which blocked the direct view of the water, but the beach is only a few houses down! Highly recommend going to Higbees for breakfast and lunch. Greenheads were gone. There were some gnats but they werent bothersome. The host was easy to communicate with and very nice. We would definitely look into this home again for future stays!

Nicely decorated charming home near beach

The home is recently renovated and had great attention to detail in the decor and comfort of the guest. It has lovely Bay views from the front in two enclosed porches which are wonderful to sit in. The surrounding area is a combination of new builds, a trailer park, and abandoned houses falling down and overrun with plants. Two such houses are immediately across the street and in view in front of water. The beach is 2 blocks away and was clean. The water was brown during our stay. As advertised it was buggy. The inside of the home was peaceful and quiet with exception of the loud alarm system that announced every door opening and occasionally a warning about a signal. There are a lot of remotes for all the lights and fans. It is dog friendly so a large cage sits in living room and sofas and some bedding had a faint dog odor. Covering them with the provided sheets solved that. One bed had sheets covered in dog hair so that had to be washed on arrival. Supplies for laundry were NOT provided but were offered by owner when I reached out. The kitchen has some basics for cooking. Most dishes and cookware items had dried food or dirt on them in cabinets. There is no store nearby so I brought groceries to prepare meals. Missing cutting board, wine opener, crab crackers, sponge, more dish towels, drying racks, wine glasses, mixing bowl. The owner was receptive. There are 2 places to eat in the town-upscale and counter in bait shop. Both good. 1 + hour drive to major beach towns.

We have so many wonderful things to report about our trip but first and foremost is how hospitable and prompt Megan was with everything. The home felt so comfy - ample seating, large kitchen, front porches with gorgeous water views. A short walk took us to Fortescue beach where we frequented multiple times a day. I have no complaints about the booking or the home itself, but my recommendation to other guests would be to make sure you bring much of what you think you will need for the trip including groceries, booze, and sundries as the closest stores are Dollar General (about 15 minute drive) and big box/ grocery stores are about a 30 minute drive. We were a bit bummed that we didn’t have a chance to see the Sea Chest or dine at Charlesworth but, by no means, did it ruin our trip. I loved beach combing and our son loved just sitting in the water and soaking up the bay views. Every sunset was gorgeous, it’s a very walkable town, and has some very interesting homes. We will definitely be back! Do not hesitate to book with Megan for your Fortescue experience. She is a fantastic host with a charming home.
