Owned by Alaskans, who love traveling and share their time between Alaska and Washington. We hope you enjoy our log cabin getaway in the heart of Gifford Pinchot National Forest, 22 miles from White Pass Ski Area and 15 miles from the Steven Canyon Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. We hope you enjoy our eclectic home and enjoy the fun funky decorations we have collected throughout our travels. As we say, this ain't no pottery barn!

Winters in Packwood may get very snowy. It is the guest's responsibility to be properly equipped for harsh winter driving conditions. We do our best to keep our cabins accessible, but winter traction tires and 4-wheel drive may still be required.

We found Elkhorn Lodge to be a charming cabin that perfectly suited our needs for some day trips to Mt Rainier and surrounding sites. Lots to look at both inside and out and true to it's name we did happen to see alot of elk in the area!

Wonderful property. Perfect base camp for exploring Ranier and Mt. St. Helens. Coffee shop in Packwood was great. Only suggestions I would make is raising the step going into the cabin from the sunroom into the cabin about an inch or so for us old people with joint replacements. Cabin was better equipped than most other properties we have stayed in. Cabin felt quaint but had all the amenities.

This is lovely property away from the main street where all the shops are. About 2 miles (or less) from the main drag. The cabin is in a nice wooded area. There are other houses/cabins nearby, so you are in a residential area but we never had any issues with noise or anything else. And even though there are houses nearby, it still felt very secluded to us. The cabin is laid out nicely, but you need to know that one of the beds is up a fairly steep staircase. I had no issues but if you have mobility issues and need more than just the bed on the main floor this will be an issue. No problems with cleanliness or anything really. We never had to contact the hosts because there were just no issues. We would easily stay here again. Mount Rainer entrance is roughly a 20-25 minute ride away. It is a nice drive. There are not many closer places to stay outside the park without being along the main drag. I am a runner and just ran in the local area. Very pleasant. Regularly saw elk. They are pet friendly and our pups seemed to like the place as much as we did.

Fabulous Eclectic Log Cabin Stay

This stay was so lovely that my husband is wanting to get property in the area and build something similar to this darling log cabin! We are collectors, so truly enjoyed the eclectic decor, and the drive into Packwood for more treasure hunting was not an issue at all. We will definitely stay here again, if it is available when we return to the area.

Cute cabin

My best friend and I stayed at this cute and comfortable cabin on the way back from the coast. The decor reflects earlier days, but is new (you don't often see pull cord toilets!) It was quiet for sleeping. We appreciate the owners sharing their lovely space with us.

Cozy and cute

My husband, daughter, and two dogs stayed for the weekend to snowboard at Whitepass. The cabin is wonderful. The decoration is fun and eclectic, the couch is comfortable, and the fireplace is hot. There are no walls, so you can hear everything from the bedrooms. This wasn’t an issue for us, but maybe for others. Communication with the management company was perfect. Hopefully we can stay again in the future!
