I had an excellent experience at this property. The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Communication with the host was smooth and timely—they provided clear check‑in instructions and were quick to answer any questions. There are also a bunch of small upstate towns all around this house, with plenty of places to grab some delicious food.

Common areas were very nice. All was clean. NOT suitable for more than two adult couples, as only two bedrooms have larger beds. The double bed is too short for anyone over 5'8", I think. We were four couples, so two couples did not have great sleeping arrangements. Location is nice, but know that it is a bit uphill from the canal. Internet worked fine. We locked up bikes outside on the back porch. OK to bring bikes in if you want. This could work well for one or two families with younger children, but not for four couples. The rooms are big enough for queen beds - putting those in would be a big improvement. We were charged for 8 people, but there were just 5 water bottles and five coffee pods in the kitchen. Air conditioning worked fine. I thought i booked listing 8 people on the reservation, somehow it came back just listing two people. When I contacted the owner about us being 8, she did raise the price substantially. It was just before our arrival, so I had no other option. Make sure you have the number of people correctly entered before you commit.

This house is just as pictured. I stayed with another family so a total of 9 of us and we slept comfortably. Yleana was a great host- attentive and responded to questions almost immediately. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Was very please with the property it was in a small town right on the outside of town. Best part was having the Amish horse and buggies riding down the road each day. The hist was honestly amazing and accommodating. My best friend and her family live out side of fort plain NY, when I go up to visit this will be my go to house to rent.

The home is beautiful and spacious! The couch in the living room was very comfortable and the TV was a smart tv so we could access apps we subscribed to and logged in. All the bedrooms also have TVs in them as well which was nice as some guests prefer to fall asleep with a tv on. The beds/pillows were great and we all felt like we were getting a good nights sleep. The communication with the property owner was phenomenal. The check in process was sent ahead of time and was very easy to understand. The only thing I will say is the house, especially the floor downstairs, was very hard to get warm. It was a very cold weekend when we stayed there so that could have been part of it but we had the heat, heating units, and a space heater and we still all had cold feet. I would not let that deter me from staying here again….I would just pack some slippers next time .

Central Home near downtown Fort Plain

Our family stayed in this nice home during a very cold week in Fort Plain (-3 outside). The house looked to be recently remodeled, was very clean, and had very modern amenities and appliances. The furnace/radiator struggled to keep the first floor warm without space heaters, but the upstairs sleeping quarters were very comfortable with the heating system running and the space heaters provided by the host. They were very quick to respond to the temperature issues, so we slept well during our stay. We were out of the house most of the day visiting family, so the first floor temperature issues had minimal impact to us. Very easy to go in and out of town from the location. During our next visit, if the house is open, we would likely consider staying there again because of how much the host worked with us to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
