La Germainiere è un magnifico casale antico che è stato completamente rinnovato e modernizzato per creare una casa vacanza davvero incantevole con un carattere enorme. Ha soffitti con travi a vista, massicci muri in pietra, pavimenti piastrellati, un enorme camino in Normandia e un riscaldamento centralizzato. La vista dalla terrazza è bellissima con campi e alberi. C'è un grande tavolo e sedie per mangiare all'aperto con barbecue a gas e area salotto ombreggiata e coperta da viti.

La casa si trova a pochi passi dal villaggio di Grimesnil. La campagna circostante è delicatamente ondulata e totalmente incontaminata, con piacevoli passeggiate. I villaggi locali vantano numerosi ristoranti, tutti buoni, alcuni eccellenti. Il vicino villaggio di St Denis Le Gast cuoce i croissant mattutini e le calde pagnotte francesi.

La magnifica piscina privata riscaldata 10x5m, disponibile da maggio a ottobre, si trova sul prato inferiore lontano dalla casa e offre splendide viste sulla valle. Ci sono sedie a sdraio, una grande capanna e tavolo e sedie.

La costa con le sue bellissime spiagge incontaminate è a soli 15 minuti di auto e a portata di mano sono Mont St Michel, le spiagge del D-Day e la città medievale di Bayeaux. Le città di mercato di Gavray e Hambye (10 minuti) hanno negozi, caffetterie e supermercati e l'incantevole città cattedrale di Coutances è a 15 minuti di auto.

L'agriturismo si trova a meno di 90 minuti di auto da Cherbourg, Caen e St Malo e possiamo offrire uno sconto del 20% su tutti gli incroci dei traghetti della Bretagna per qualsiasi numero di auto e passeggeri. È facilmente raggiungibile in auto da Calais o Parigi (Aeroporto di Orly) su autostrade meravigliose.

The property was ideal for what we required (6 people as a base for playing golf).The swimming pool was excellent, probably the best part of the accommodation.The property is somewhat dated, being a country house, with a lot of cob webs and places that haven’t been cleaned for a while.There was an excellent dining room with a large table to accommodate at least 12 people.The kitchen was adequate with plenty cutlery and crockery but lacking in oven trays.The garage with an extra fridge, washing machine and table tennis was a nice extra.The showers, although the cubicles were dated, were good with hot water always available.Plenty of parking for cars.The location is idyllic if you like to be away from everything and in the middle of the countryside.Sue, the host, was excellent with her communication and help.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location

Everything we could need and close to most of the major attractions such as Mont Still Michel, Bayeux and the beaches. A truly lovely Normandy holiday with a wonderful pool and garden for the kids. Highly recommend Champereus Zoo too.

Our group of 9 have just enjoyed a great relaxing 5 day stay. We were all very impressed by the size and quality of the accommodation. The heated pool was great and well used. We found everything clean and tidy with good sized rooms and comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of glasses, cups, crockery and cookware. Having a huge table and dining area separate from the large living area was much appreciated. We were provided with ample wood for the wonderful open fire in the living room. Having entry via a key safe but someone to hand close by in case of problems was ideal.All in all a great property and we would happily visit again.

Spacious and comfortable

My family really enjoyed our time here. There is a lot of space which is a bonus for a large family group. The kids (and adults) particularly loved the pool which was deliciously warm - even when the weather wasn't. The table tennis table was in constant use. There is a homely and friendly atmosphere about the house and the location is brilliant for the many visits we made around Normandy.

Location is amazing and perfect to head to Granville and Mont St Michel. Lots of little villages around also to explore. So close to the beach by car. House size is fantastic and pool is such a fantastic added benefit to use. House could do with better fans for sleeping on hot nights in every room. Kitchen is so well equipped. We played games out the cupboard and kids played tabletennis badminton and used the bikes. We were family of 9 so house size was perfect

This is a great house to stay at for a large family holiday. The rooms are spacious, and the house is very well equipped. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille dans ce gîte tout à fait adapté pour un groupe avec enfants: calme, grands espaces extérieurs sans aucune circulation. Nous avons aussi apprécié la déco rustique.La piscine est un élément essentiel de ce gîte, elle est vaste et TRES bien chauffée ce qui permet de l'utiliser même lorsque le soleil n'est pas au RDV.Les personnes qui s'occupent du jardin et de la piscine sont charmantes.Arrivée très facile.

Maison idéale au calme avec superbe piscine

Magnifique piscine chauffée à 28 degrés. Maison idéale pour se retrouver entre amis. Accueil et consignes données par une tres charmante dame qui s occupe de la maison. Visite du Mont Saint Michel à 1 heure de route, visite du musée Dior de Granville à 30 minutes, visite d un producteur de Calvados, Fouchard, très sympathique, rdv à prendre. Nous avons pu bénéficier d un superbe temps, idéal pour profiter pleinement de la piscine. Maison de vacances fonctionnelle.

Maison louée pour une dizaine d amis pour fêter le réveillon, très bon séjour, maison très agréable et bien située à une vingtaine de kilomètres de Granville et un peu moins de la cote, maison très propre, spacieuse avec un salon avec cheminée de toute beauté, Cuisine très bien équipée et spacieuse, Chambres agréables et confortables La maison est au calme dans un écrin de nature Le réseau Internet est suffisant pour rester connecté En bref une très belle expérience !

Week-end au top à la campagne

Nous avons séjourné dans cette charmante maison pour le réveillon avec des amis et des enfants. Tout correspond au descriptif fait par la propriétaire Sue. Elle est d'ailleurs très réactive ! Je conseille vraiment cette maison pour un séjour au calme à la campagne.

Perfect house for a family holiday!

La Germainiere House is lovely. Off the beaten track but in easy reach of plenty of interesting things. We were four generations travelling together but the house catered for us all. Grampa loved making us a cozy log fire when it got chilly. The children loved the space to play and run around. The pool area is amazing and the ping pong table was a lovely bonus. Even the weather was good for an autumn break, so we got to see and do lots of things in the area. Would definitely visit again.

Beautiful Normandie farmhouse

The beautiful farmhouse has all amenities you could possibly wish for. The house was immaculately clean, homely and very relaxing. The gardens were lovely and the pool was just perfect to cool down in the summer sun. The area is so convenient for exploring the beachside villages or local historical sires. Very enjoyable holiday, ideal for relaxing and unwinding. Would highly recommend and hope to return.

bonne impression

Avons passé 4 jours dans cette maison très agréable et chaleureuse. Salon très agréable et convivial, chambres et sanitaires très bien. N'avons pas pu tester la piscine puisque nous étions en décembre. Seul bémol, il faut être anglais car la majorité des indications est dans cette langue, ce qui est dommage lorsqu'on loue une maison en France.

Bonne impression mais

mais vous ne nous avez pas informé que la TV était uniquement en anglais, wi-fi très faible et communication presque impossible (difficile pour des enfants entre 27 et 37 ans) et manque bouilloire électrique. La maison est agréable, les parties communes (cuisine, salle à manger, salon) sont vastes pour loger 12 personnes. Nous avons à cette époque beaucoup apprécié et utilisé la cheminée.

Ideal for a group visit.

9 of us stayed at La Germaniere and were very impressed with the accommodation. The facilities were ideal for a group and the house is lovely - a mix of traditional and modern. The description on the website is absolutely accurate and everything was provided as we were told. We would certainly recommend the accommodation to others.

Stunning property with plenty of amenities.

Very impressive frontage on arrival. Completely isolated apart from one other property nearby. The facilities were ideal for our party which comprised four young children, oldest five years old, and four adult couples. The best facility was the heated pool which was a sun trap. It was an ideal size and depth for for both adult swimming and children playing. Being surrounded by a childproof fence was another big plus. The only criticism was some of the beds were a bit lumpy and the bathrooms were shared. We did have one wet day but between table tennis, English tv, dvds, board games etc we kept adequately amused. The restaurants and sights that were recommended in by the owners totally exceeded expectations. We were unanimous in the opinion that we would return to such a beautiful house in a such a lovely setting!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed such a lovely holiday with your family at La Germainiere and loved our stunning farmhouse and its amazing peaceful setting. The pool is always a great hit with families, particularly with young children. We too love staying there and have spent many happy holidays at La Germainiere. The beds and mattresses are checked and replaced regularly. We are over there next week so I will double check them again then. Thanks for your feedback. We are farmers in the beautiful Dorset countryside in Southern England. We have three children and five grandchildren. We love France and in particular Normandy. It is so easy to get to Cherbourg from Poole and it is less then a 90 minute drive to the house. We therefore go for lots of short holidays and love it there.

We have owned this holiday house since 1997 and still love its tranquil rural setting. Set amongst its own fields at the end of a ½ mile private drive, it is the most lovely relaxing holiday retreat. Built some 300 years ago, this holiday cottage has enormous character with old beams, massive stone walls and a huge Normandy fireplace. The South facing terrace catches the sun all day and is the ideal spot to enjoy an evening drink listening to the cicadas.

The magnificent 10m x 5m private heated swimming pool is situated in a peaceful setting and provides the perfect place to relax in the sun. There are lovely views over the wooded valley below. And if you fancy a change of scenery, it is a pretty ten minute walk from our holiday villa to the village of Grimesnil, where you will find an excellent bar/restaurant.

Spread over three floors, our French gite is full of period character and well-equipped for holidays with up to 12 people: we have 2 double bedrooms, including a master en suite, and 4 twin rooms that are perfect for children or groups of friends. With a huge lawn, our own pear trees and meadows all around, our holiday home is the perfect place to enjoy nature in Normandy.

It is a short easy drive to the beautiful coast with so many unspoilt quiet beaches perfect for all ages.
We are surrounded by amazing restaurants including brilliant seafood restaurants for which the area is renowned.
Le Mont St Michel, D Day beaches and interesting old towns such as Villedieu-les-Poeles , Granville and Countances are all a short drive away.
