Blue Dog Lodge is the perfect four-season getaway located on the shores of Deer Lake, just five minutes from the slopes at Boyne Mountain Resort.
This spacious five-bedroom, three-bath lakefront home combines cozy lodge charm with modern updates, creating the ideal setting for families and friends to gather, relax, and enjoy Northern Michigan year-round. With breathtaking lake views, a private sandy beach, and room to comfortably sleep up to 14 guests, Blue Dog Lodge offers the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.

The main level features a king bedroom with an ensuite bath and accessible shower, a queen bedroom with a toddler bed for families traveling with little ones. Upstairs, guests will find two additional king bedrooms, another queen bedroom, and a spacious bunk-style room with a king bed, twin bunks, and a twin trundle—perfect for kids or larger groups.

Step outside and enjoy your own private sandy beach on Deer Lake, ideal for swimming, sunbathing, fishing, boating, or simply relaxing by the water. Guests can enjoy complimentary use of kayaks, paddle boards, and a rowboat during their stay. Pontoon rentals are also available through third-party companies nearby. After a day on the lake or the slopes, unwind around the fire pit under the stars or relax in the outdoor sauna overlooking the patio.

Inside, the home offers an open-concept living area with soaring ceilings, a cozy gas fireplace, and a 65-inch Smart TV with cable included. A sunroom and balcony nook provide stunning panoramic lake views, while games, puzzles, high-speed internet, refreshed furnishings, and new mattresses ensure a comfortable and entertaining stay for all ages.

We spent a wonderful week on Deer Lake! The house was impeccably clean. There was lots of space outside for sports and games. We enjoyed the dock for fishing and the kayaks and paddle board for exploring the lake. We would definitely stay again!

Spacious home, well supplied. Large yard with 3 fire pits. Wonderful quiet lake for fishing and swimming. Lots of games, a big dock. This place has it all and it was close to town for the shoppers.

Beautiful Deer Lake property

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house and property were well kept up. A second air conditioner is needed for a very hot upstairs with three bedrooms, sleeping nine. We stayed at the end of June so cannot imagine the heat of summer. Amenities were excellent except for the grill. With no drip pan, the grease went through a large hole very near the propane tank.

A missing drip pan and grease draining near the propane tank is a concern that needs to be addressed promptly. We’ll have maintenance inspect the grill and make the necessary corrections to ensure it is safe and ready for future guests. Exclusive private stay

The property is so beautiful. We stayed in the winter and it was such a beautiful place to stay. Private location, big bedrooms and even a fire place. Fully stocked kitchen and large closet. We had 10 people in our group and had an amazing trip. Super close to boyne mountain. WillBooking again

Great Winter Weekend

We had 10 people stay comfortably at this property. 2 teenage boys. 2 teenage girls and 3 couples. All with plenty of space to have a very relaxing time. Great location close to Boyne Mountain and Boyne City. Will be back next year

Beautiful home with large yard

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here with multiple families/generations. The house is very nicely appointed and was pristine when we arrived. There isn’t an outdoor table at all but there are several comfy lounge chairs on the deck plus a very nice firepit area. The beach area is small - plenty of space for my almost 3 year old but maybe not enough if your group has more than 2 or 3 kids or has kids who enjoy building large sand castles. The lakeshore isn’t murky and is shallow with a sandy bottom. The paddleboard and 2 kayaks were enjoyable to take on the mostly quiet lake. My husband also appreciated the great fishing even just off the home’s dock.

Spacious, beautiful, lakefront property

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family had a great time staying at the well appointed Blue Dog Lodge right on quiet Deer Lake recently for a long weekend. Check in was super convenient. We enjoyed the sun and view of Deer Lake from the deck. My disabled son loved to rock back and forth on the swing down at the beach. The house is large with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Large windows everywhere maximize the views of the lake. The house was clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. However,previous renters must have had younger children who left sticky smudges which attracted ants. Also, the main bedroom shower as well as the kitchen sink faucet, the hot and cold water hookups were reversed ; hot was cold and cold was hot. The property manager answered questions by text message very promptly. Boyne City has everything that might be needed during your stay. Deer Lake is quiet and relaxing and the surrounding area is beautiful as well. We can hardly wait to go back for another visit.

Everything with the place was great. If I had to complain about anything it would be that the sprinkler system went off every morning rain or shine and sprayed all over the cars in the driveway leaving water spots on them. But again the lodge itself was terrific.
