Reviews prior were very forgiving

Communication with owner was good. My disappointment was with the house. It was very stark, didn’t feel welcoming and is not charming. Lighting was poor at night with minimal lamps and ceiling fixtures were very old and dim. I’m sure the owner is trying but it wasn’t what it was presented as. We chose the house due to location but will not be staying there again.

Regarding Marta’s review, we’ve followed up with her to better understand her concerns on the house condition. While this is our first review on Vrbo, we’ve received multiple 5-star reviews on other platforms, such as AAirbnb, which are publicly accessible and can be verified. None of our previous guests have raised any of these concerns, and we believe the house is accurately represented in the photos and offers fair value for its pricing. That said, we’re committed to making improvements over time to unlock the full potential of both the house and its location. We’ll also adjust pricing as enhancements are made to ensure we continue providing great value for future guests.

We stayed in this property for three months while our home underwent renovation. The host, although living remotely, responded quickly to every concern we had and sent the relevant trades-persons to address issues. The host also was very gracious about extending our stay as our renovation faced delays.The property generally met our needs but some details need to be addressed: - instructions should be provided regarding operation of the heating system, cooling system, and whole-house fan. (The host's handyman did explain them to us when he came to repair a minor plumbing issue.)- the kitchen appliances should be upgraded, especially the range where all of the burners were not working;- the home was not sufficiently clean when we moved in but the host promptly sent cleaners for two sessions. The home would benefit from a multi-day deep clean.- the basement smelled musty/moldy and this should be addressed.
