Rocking Ridge Estates has potential, but at over 1,000 per night, the experience fell far short of expectations. The fenced yard was a major reason we booked, but it isn’t truly secure—there are large gaps under the fence and near the gate that people and large animals can easily pass through. The home is also located directly off a highway, and the road noise is constant. There were no outdoor trash cans available, which made managing household trash inconvenient. The plumbing needs significant attention. Hot water lasted about six minutes, making it impossible for more than one person to shower comfortably. This limitation was only disclosed after booking. Some faucets also operate backwards (cold creates hot water), adding to the frustration. The master bathroom had multiple issues: non-working lights, a second shower head that didn’t function, and a shower floor with an unusually steep slope that made standing and shaving difficult. The shower head height is also too low for taller guests. The beds were acceptable, but not at the level expected for the nightly rate. With repairs, updates, and more accurate advertising, this property could be much better. As it stands, it does not justify the price. All that said, the host was amazing, the location was perfect, the house was well supplied and clean. The internet, TV, fireplaces were all operating well and great to have. There were no instructions once inside on how to open the gate, but we found an opener inside.
