This was a well kept property in a very good location. Our grandkids spent the entire day jumping off the dock and swimming to the raft. In between we all kayaked around this very picturesque lake. This was a perfect place to bring the whole family together

Very clean lake house that helped our family gather and relive memories of visiting Crystal Lake as we grew up. The little beach was perfect for the little ones and the kayaks were a hit with everyone.

Great location, perfect lakeside access and dock area. Fire pit was great, kitchen was sufficient for our meals, caught tons of fish off the dock. Only thing missing was an air conditioner due to three days in the 90’s. Would definitely stay again.

The cabin was absolutely charming and Crystal Lake showed off for us! We enjoyed a lovely late Summer/early Fall long weekend. We enjoyed spending time on the deck playing cards and enjoying the weather. The kayaks were perfect - such a relaxing paddle across the lake. We didn't spend anytime cooking - but the kitchen was well stocked. A cabin weekend was just perfect and the accommodations were clean and very comfortable!

Golfing for 5 days straight 116 holes.

37 years of golfing at Quit Qu Oc. we had a great stay at this water front house. Plent of room for our group.

Pleasant getaway

We enjoyed our time on Crystal Lake. We stayed from Wednesday to Saturday, so the lake was quiet. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, and swimming. The house included the kayaks and plenty of water floats. Great location.

Lovely

We enjoyed staying here. It was blazing hot while we were in the home and it was a bit toasty upstairs but the lake gave a nice breeze all night. The check in was easy and communication was awesome. Our only tiny negative was the musty smell in the basement but that is bound to happen when living on the lake in an older home.

The house and lake access were what we expected, except that the what-would-have-been-ideal table on the expansive, deck above the lake had been broken (the glass top) by the guests before us. This wasn’t the owner’s fault, and the owner notified us of this as we were driving in, but this was very unfortunate. Other eating spaces in the house were far less desirable. We did eat on our laps in chairs on the deck and that was okay. I’m sure the table will be replaced, but do check this. Crystal Lake was beautiful. Very clear and clean. The kayaks at the house provided a lot of fun, as did the various floaties that were there. The master bedroom and bath were very pleasant, with views of the lake. Sitting areas facing the lake in the house were very comfortable and pleasant. Ceiling lights in the master bedroom were all dead (there was one bedside table lamp that worked). The house is old, but has its charm. Flowers around the house were lovely, as were the wild flowers along the road that surrounds the lake. Two cautions: You must be capable of walking up a long flight of stone steps from the house to your car (and bring a flashlight in the dark), and if you don’t know what Road America is (and we didn’t), look it up. You will hear the racing cars from 8 to 5 throughout the summer. You get used to the noise, but it’s delightful when the racing ends and the quiet begins.

Beautiful location

We loved the lake home. It was perfect setting for a nice fall getaway. Everything went well. We used the kayaks and the lake was still warm. Crazy for late September. The hosts seemed really nice.

A perfect family getaway

My teenage boys and I found the perfect spot for our getaway. The house was exactly as expected, with lots of water toys to enjoy the lake. 25 minutes to multiple world-class golf courses, amazing food in Elkhart Lake, and although we didn’t partake this trip, the Road America track is minutes away (we could hear the engines easily! The home on Crystal Lake was a joy to come back to on days we ventured out, but the ease of the house was just as enjoyable. We would stay again!

lots of steps

Information regarding access to the house would have been useful. There were about 34 steps down to the house from the parking area. My wife and I are are in our 70's and the climbing was quite tiring, especially hauling luggage down and up. There is no bathroom on the main floor necessitating climbing up a flight or down a flight to the bathrooms. The front door lock takes a special art to open which I only learned by calling the owner. Nice property for younger people with no mobility issues.

We had an amazing stay. Home is about a 2 mile walk to downtown Elkhart Lake, where we enjoyed the weekend farmers market, coffee, shop, and ice cream.

Setting is gorgeous. House is showing a little age.

I wish I could give separate scores for inside (4) vs outside (5). The setting is lovely and tranquil (only when there are no races going at road America). Kayaks are great and the breeze was always pleasant on the patio. There is an unfortunate acorn tree right over the house that continuously pelts the roof and sometimes the patio, though that is probably only a thing in the fall. And we are light sleepers so it might not keep others up at night. The house is exactly as pictured, which was nice, and I now notice there are no bathroom photos. They are showing age. Other age issues were the front door lock only opens with a trick you have to call and learn. And the coffee maker pot had no lid, so the machine wasn’t operable until we found a metal strainer to use in lieu of the filter holder. The carpet is well worn. So these were things I would like to have known and so I shared them here. They were manageable and were worth it to enjoy the location, quiet neighborhood, and morning coffee on the patio looking at the lake as well as sunsets at night across the water.

Beautiful Lake House

Decorated nicely. Beautiful lake views. The kayaks were great, and lots of water toys. Challenges included lots of stairs, and no air conditioning.

Great family rental!

Very clean. Thoughtfully well stocked. Excellent lake swimming. Near to everything. Responsive owner. Best kayaks I’ve ever had at a rental. Lots ok kid beach toys.

Relaxation

After full days of kayaking, climbing, and watching races at Road America, we were happy to relax by the water or on one of the decks. When it was chilly, we enjoyed the views from inside. We will be back.

End of summer

We had a wonderful time at Crystal Lake. The view was awesome and the kids enjoyed being able to swim right off the dock. There was a wonderful array of beach toys and equipment.

While it's our new home away from home, I grew up in the surrounding area. Crystal Lake holds many fond memories for our family. My father Harry is the property manager, who is just five minutes away in Plymouth. We're also proud members of the Crystal Lake Advancement Association.

We're a 15-minute drive to Whistling Straits. There are also two golf course within 5 minutes of the house.
