We had a great stay here with three families, including two babies, and the house worked really well for our group. There was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable, and it was nice having a place where we could all spend time together without feeling crowded.The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was also convenient for everything we wanted to do around Cannon Beach and the surrounding area. Traveling with two little ones can sometimes make finding the right accommodations difficult, but this house made things easy for us.Overall, we had a very good experience and would happily stay here again. It was a comfortable and practical home base for our family trip, and we’d recommend it to other families or groups visiting Cannon Beach.

The location was amazing, walking distance to the beach and out of the way of crowds. We could see the beach from the open windows. We loved the amount of windows and sunshine! The size of the place was great and can accommodate more than the sleeping amount. I appreciated the honesty on this, because other rentals tend to cram every sleeper as much as possible.The kitchen was actually well stocked! This meant a lot to us because we cook and most rentals don’t have even the essentials!There was a very strong musty/mold smell on the first floor. Overpowering on the first day. We kept windows open down there, which helped.

It was a great house for the 5 of us friends, the kitchen had everything we needed. Great view of the sunset and short walk to the beachThe beds were comfortableThe host was quick to respond to questions and sent detailed instructions and suggestions where to explore and eat. We would stay here again!

This was a great property and experience and it enhanced our visit to Cannon Beach. The location is perfect for access to the beach, hikes, biking, shopping, etc. We would definitely stay here again when we visit Cannon Beach.

We (2 couples, one toddler) loved our week at the Dorothy Lou House! We had plenty of space, and everything in the house functioned well. I especially appreciated knowing that if we had questions I could email the owner.A few bonuses about the location (which was amazing): the beach was an easy 2 block walk away, through safe and pleasant neighborhoods; there is a lovely grocery store just a few blocks south; across the street from the grocery store is a small playground for kids; and Sea Level Coffee- a small but delicious coffee shop- is only a block south. If we have the opportunity to return to Cannon Beach with family, we will definitely check this place out again!

This is the 3rd year I've rented the house for myself and a number of friends from various parts of the country. It's a great house for a group of friends or a family get together. All of my guests have enjoyed their stays - the location is great, there are ocean views from the deck, living room and primary bedroom, beach access is easy. The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds are comfortable. There is an excellent grocery store within walking distance and there is a good pub and Mo's Seafood are both within walking distance. The owner, Karl, is always helpful. I hope to book again for several days next spring.

Nice location away from busy downtown but close to a very beautiful area of beach. My family enjoyed our stay, loved having fires on the beach. The house was equipped with all necessities including plenty of towels, soap, tp, etc. We were all very comfortable staying here and would return if ever in the area again.

Annual family vacation

Everything was great, our stay at the Dorothy Lou has become a yearly tradition. The house fits our family perfectly and it’s an easy walk to the beach. The decks are great to sit and relax.

Perfect Beach Home

My family had never visited Cannon Beach and we were blown away by the beauty of this place. The Dorothy Lou Beach home was perfect regarding location, convenience and outdoor/indoor spaces.

This is a beautiful home to spend your vacation or a weekend away. It is just one block from a super cute coffee shop and barely a block from the beach. We had a fantastic time. You can easily walk to Haystack rock. It’s a quiet and lovely location with everything you could possibly need. Most important to me is that the bed was incredibly comfortable and warm highly recommend.

Great house for a group of seven. The bedrooms were a great size and perfect to have 3 bathrooms!!! Wonderful location to walk to the beach and the park area by Mo's so the grandsons could play. We had elk all around the house on the first day, so fun to watch. I like the Tolovana area, not so crowded on the beach and quiet. Three days of sunny weather and calm wind.
