In a wonderful setting, high above the harbour and surrounded by indigenous woodland, mountains and rocky countryside, this carefully restored traditional stone cottage brims with character. It is secluded with magnificient views over Kenmare bay.
There are amazing views from the Cottage. It is completely secluded with only the odd Sheep, Deer or Rabbits to pay a visit. Relax on the Patio with glass of wine while watching the sunset over the Bay.

We loved staying in Eugene and Mag's stone house that sat high on a hill with panoramic views of the bay. For us it was perfectly situated 26 kms from Kelmare (where you get supplied up) and close to a variety of hiking trails and scenic towns to visit (like Eyeries, Castletownbare, Bere Island Allihie) The Beara peninsula is the place you want to go if you like being away from the crowds - peaceful and tranquil. For us is was perfect - no tour buses and crowds to contend with!The stone house was beautiful on the inside and out. It had everything we needed and was very cozy and warm (has a wood burner but we didn't use it). The bed and family room seating were very comfortable, and we had some great restful times inside when we were not out on the trails exploring.Eugene and Mag very both very nice, helpful and excellent communicators. Any time we had questions they were quickly answered. We highly recommend this as your next homestay and experience the wonderful Irish heritage that this lovely home brings.

It’s hard to know where to begin. We knew the location would be lovely, but once we arrived it was clear we'd discovered a rare gem. The setting has a quiet, grounding calm to it - the kind that makes you breathe a little deeper and instantly slow down.The cottage itself couldn’t have felt more authentic. It was spotless, cozy, and so thoughtfully put together.Mag and Eugene are genuinely lovely hosts - so warm and welcoming. They’re the kind of people who make you feel instantly at ease. Their kindness, stores and humour added so much to our experience.This traditional Irish stone cottage, with its sweeping views over the Beara Peninsula, gave us an idyllic, restorative stay. We left feeling deeply grateful for having experienced such a magical place. It will stay in our hearts and memories for years to come.

Wir waren für 4 Nächte im Cottage und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vom Haus an der Straße, in dem die Vermieter wohnen, fährt man ca. 400 m über einen kleinen Weg hoch zum Cottage. Dort findet man absolute Ruhe und Entspannung. Es ist sehr idyllisch und wir konnten schön draußen sitzen und die Nachmittagsonne bis abends genießen. Zwischendurch kamen Schafe zu Besuch und die Idylle war perfekt. Als Ausflüge können wir Dursey Island per CableCar, den Rabach Way Walk sowie (fast direkt am Cottage) die Cashelkeelty Steinkreise empfehlen. Wir waren mehmals in Helen's Bar essen, dort sitzt man am Hafen/Wasser und erhält neben der wunderschönen Aussicht sehr leckeres Essen zu unschlagbar günstigen Preisen. Schönes Ambiente findet man im An Sibin, dort ist es allerdings etwas höherpreisig, aber auch sehr lecker. Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Cottage sehr genossen, vorallem abends am Kamin mit gemütlichen Torffeuer, das macht Irland aus und uns glücklich, was will man mehr. Vielen Dank für alles. Sehr schön gelegen in absoluter Ruhe mit tollem Ausblick auf die Hügel und das Meer. Sehr gemütlich eingerichtet mit allem was man braucht, wir haben es sehr genossen.

Das Cottage ist wirklich zauberhaft und umgeben von der Natur. Schafe und Wild kamen uns besuchen. Man ist völlig ungestört und kann die gute Luft in Ruhe genießen. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.
