Perfect getaway for a Family Mother's Day Celebration!

We arrived on a beautiful day (rain had been predicted) and we immediately felt at home! We went for a walk in the lively neighborhood and encountered a gentleman with his elderly dog who told us how to get to the Upper and Lower Falls trailheads.

Our family and our dogs loved this house. Plenty of comfortable chairs were available to enjoy the beautiful mountain view from the deck. We appreciated that the deck was enclosed, allowing the dogs to roam freely without worrying about them getting out. The kitchen was stocked with nice cookware and storage containers. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had everything we needed. The host was very attentive and easy to get a hold of. We never got a chance to enjoy the hot tub, but the sitting area and games downstairs got a lot of use. The neighborhood was nice and well maintained. There is a lot space between the houses giving you privacy and a secluded feel. We would stay here again.

We had a great time staying in this cabin! The views are amazing! The kids and adults all enjoyed the hot tub and ping pong. It was also nice to have hiking trails just up the road from the cabin. Would definitely stay here again.

Greg was an incredible host and the house was perfect for what we needed. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were very comfy. The game area downstairs was perfect for activities. The kitchen is fully stocked, and we mean fully! There was everything we needed to make meals each night. There are no stairs to enter the house, so makes it easy for loading/unloading and for those that have difficulty with them, But the biggest bonus was the wrap around deck with amazing views of the mountains and gorgeous sunsets. We took a hike to Catawba Falls from the neighborhood and while it says the trail is not maintained, it looks no different then the trails that are, easy 1 mile hike to the upper falls, a little more difficult on the way back due to the incline, but doable for most people. You are in nature, as we even saw a bear (but never felt fearful, as we respected the rules with the wildlife) but with all the comforts of home. Visiting the town of Black Mountain is a must, Cute shops, breweries and plenty of places to eat. What a great gem!
