Hilltop Paradise

An amazing home in a beautiful location. It was way more home than we needed, but we sure enjoyed the extra amenities and space. The views are unbelievable and the location is perfect for accessing parks and tours along the Hummingbird Highway. The only things I would note is that the deck was tough to use after dark if you have any lights on as there were lots of large flying beetles drawn to them but it's a jungle stay so you get what comes with that. Also the pool was quite cold so we didn't use it as much as we thought we would but it was nice to get into for short periods if you were overheating.

Beautiful jungle retreat

Very elegant, well maintained home equipped with 2 master suites. Great wraparound porch and large patio for bird watching and relaxing. A wonderful local cook is willing to prepare meals on request. Sandra cooked several fantastic meals for us.

Magical Mountain Home

The design, craftmanship, and attention to detail of the house was oustanding, this combined with the size of the house made for an incredible value. One could argue the location was off the beaten path but we found it centrally locared to many activities of interior Belize.

Perfect

This was our second stay at Hilltop House. We absolutely love it. First, the house is beautiful, i love everything about it. Second, it's location is ideal. We went to the beach, zip lining, swimming in waterfalls , ATM cave and Xunantunich. You can do it all!

Family time in Belize

The house is incredible. The staff was super responsive and helpful. Theala was great in her communication all the way through. If you’re looking for something a little different than the traditional Belize escape, this is the house for you. Highly recommend!

Truly Magical

This is an amazing home in an amazing setting. The view from the back and side decks are amazing! We were able to see life birds just relaxing in comfort. We heard howler monkeys in the distance. The house is as described and as in the picture if not better. It is large and luxurious and safe and convenient to go to Dangriga and Hopkins and Placencia.

Large house with great views

Memorable stay at this huge house along the Hummingbird Hwy. Great views from the hilltop location, enjoyed the indoor pool and both indoor/outdoor places to lounge about, relax and visit with friends.

Beautiful house, best of the best!

This property was an absolute highlight of our trip. Luxury and very comfortable, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. View is gorgeous and swimming pool is wonderful. We spent lots of time on the back deck relaxing and watching birds. Beds are super comfortable and property is very well maintained. Thank you so much for everything, Theala!

Clean, Comfortable, Quiet, and Beautiful

The hilltop house is amazing. It has all the conveniences of home, with the added benefit of being close to Hummingbird Highway, jungle wildlife and beauty, and the Caribbean Sea. On our first morning we drove 30 minutes into Dangriga and bought 6 lbs of snapper that had just been caught. We also bought some fresh vegetables at the outdoor market and had the best meals cooked on the outdoor grill at the house during our stay. After a good night's sleep, we were able to explore the numerous nearby surrounding attractions during the day. The indoor pool is very comfortable and fun for kids and adults. I cannot say enough good things about our stay.

Stunning views, beautiful architecture, amazing stay!

Our family of five absolutely loved our stay at the Magical Hilltop House! It is the most beautiful home and property we've stayed in. We loved the pool...there is a shallow and deep end as well as ledges you can sit on. The beds were comfortable. Lucy and Melly were very kind and helpful, and Lucy's daughter Sandy made us a delicious dinner one night. Some things I recommend are bringing your own coffee (they only had instant) and maybe bring some essential spices like salt and pepper...these things are expensive at the stores. There are small stores in the area, but we found one not too far down the road that had a lot more selection. It's called Pomona shopping mall, and it's about 10 minutes east of the house on Hummingbird Highway. We ate at Toucan Cafe, Green Hills Restaurant, and Ms. Bertha's tamales...about 10-15 minutes west of the house and had delicious food. During the day on Tuesday, an ice cream stand (ZZ's Scoop & Smiles Coffee Bar) happened to be open right next to Green Hills Restaurant...it was delicious and such a treat! On the way home from an excursion in Belmopan, we had dinner Las Palmas restaurant in Aremenia district - beautiful ambiance and delicious food! We did a couple excursions while in the jungle - Xunatunich Mayan ruins and then zip lining and cave tubing at Nohoch Che'en in one day. The other day we did the ATM cave. It was quite a drive to both, but it went by quickly because of the gorgeous views. We loved Hilltop House!

Breathtaking home

This is more than just a house. It is a borderline resort. The house is incredibly private with an indoor pool. The BR’s are air conditioned and have very, very high end bedding. The house is furnished with plush couches and chairs. Full kitchen and huge DR. It’s overlooking mountains on 3 sides and worth every cent I paid. Great location to take day trips to Placencia and Ruins. Close to your companies running cave and waterfall tours. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Gorgeous Home, Wonderful Stay!

There are so many great reviews of this property but I wanted to add to it. The home is spacious and beautiful and there are so many lovely details and fixtures. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals but we had Sandy, Lucy's daughter prepare 2 dinners for us. I highly recommend asking her to make stewed chicken, rice and beans, and fried plantains. The indoor pool is wonderful, just what we needed after the hot, humid days out sightseeing. There is a washer and dryer, making it easier to pack lighter. There is a guestbook in the entryway, I highly recommend reading through it to get recommendations for things to do and places to eat. We went to the restaurant at the Sleeping Giant Resort and it was amazing. Best service I've ever had. Ask to be seated at one of Hailey's tables, she's an amazing server. A few reviewers mentioned bringing bug spray and I used OFF brand picardin and was diligent about using it and didn't not get any bites. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer in this beautiful home.

Very unique property

My wife, myself, and my brother stayed for four nights.We all said that this is by far the most amazing vacation rental home we have stayed in! The house and the location are incredible. When we weren't off to a nearby adventure we spent our time on the wraparound deck to watch birds and bats and hear the jungle sounds or just take in the amazing view. The indoor pool was perfect to come in and cool off occasionally. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals or making a nice cool frozen drink. The only thing I would suggest here is a LifeWater or high quality pitcher water filter. The water from the tap is from a mountain stream and has some sediment. The furnishings were luxurious and cozy. The soft bed was a godsend after the stiff board mattresses from our last four places! The only criticisms we had was not with the accommodation. Hopefully these will help management. The house keeper was late arriving to let us in at the late afternoon scheduled time and the house was shut up in hot/humid weather without AC on. While she led us around on a very brief tour (thank God) we were sweating buckets. There were a few basic maintenance items that have gone unresolved including a broken kitchen faucet and the master shower which is backwards so all you can get is tepidly warm water. The front door doesn't latch properly so it has to be locked in order to stay closed. The most unfortunate thing was the two skinny tick laden hound dogs kept in small kennels.

Belize Getaway 2025

This property exceeded our expectations. Accessed several activities that are within 30 minute drive from the house. Kayaking through caves was a real treat. Marie Sharps factory tour was a fun diversion.

Blissful Sanctuary

This is the nicest house we’ve ever stayed in while on vacation, and we travel quite a bit. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The property is exquisite — very lush and tropical, enormous and private, well-maintained. The house is gorgeous — very unique and custom, spacious yet comfortable, well furnished and tastefully decorated. This could easily accommodate a much larger group. You could stay your entire time in Belize right here — listening to the birds and howler monkeys, reading books from the plush seating on the scenic veranda, taking a dip in the spring-fed pool, which acts as a sort of atrium in the center of the house (a kid favorite for sure), or letting Sandy prepare you a delicious home-cooked Belizean meal (for less than you’d pay going through a drive-thru back home, I might add) after a day of local hiking at the nearby Blue Hole Park. The house is a bit remote (otherwise it would be astronomically expensive and prob not available), but that’s part of what I personally love about it. It’s located somewhere between Placentia and Mountain Pine Ridge Forest, two areas we wanted to visit. So if you are a bit adventurous and don’t mind some driving, I would highly recommend. We felt so lucky to stay here!

This home is amazing! Our family of four had such a lovely time enjoying the pool and listening to the birds on the veranda. I could not believe we were able to book this house for only 3 nights as it is SO big for a two bedroom! My husband guessed around 6,000 sq ft. We had such a wonderful time! And Lucy and Silvano were wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back! Thank you for helping to create such a memorable visit for our family.

Better than the pictures

This place was fantastic! House and property were almost as beautiful as the views. We’ve always loved the Hummingbird Highway, and this was the perfect home base from which to explore (and at which to relax afterward). We highly recommend!

One of the best rentals EVER!

This rental was one of the best we have ever stayed at. The pool was so great to have after our hikes or just to be refreshed a few times a day. The house is just gorgeous and very spacious. The furnishings inside and out were very comfortable and in great condition. The air conditioning in the bed rooms was great for getting a good night’s sleep. The surrounding jungle was thick and beautiful and the views from the surround porch were incredible. The owner was very helpful and answered our many questions. The onsite caretaker, Polo, was wonderful. He explained many things about the local culture and helped us with anything we asked about. He even dug up a casava for us to cook. All around our experience was just incredible and we recommend it HIGHLY!!!!
