We went up to Grand Marais to celebrate our 45th anniversary. Todd and Susan had great communication with us before our trip. Even giving out tips about Grand Marais that others may not know. The location of the Writers Cabin could not be better. Everything is easily walkable. Just a half a block away from the harbor, but you have a great feeling of being secluded at the same time. We were up for 6 nights, but only used our car 2 days for excursions. The cabin is quaint and has everything you really need. We would definitely go back again.

Todd and Susan made sure we were set and comfortable during a very cold (windchills of -40 to -60) weekend. The cottage was cozy, clean and had some great books. The real treat was the gas fireplace.

Lake Superior hiking trip

Enjoyed Grand Marais harbor, food and proximity to outdoor activities, sites and ambience. Great location and great rental that provides just enough to relax, hang your hat and recover from the countless outdoor activities that are available all around you.

Cozy little cabin centrally located in Grand Marais

Sweet little cabin centrally located in Grand Marias. Well use of space made it cozy and functional. Loved the outdoor table and chairs for lunches ala fresh air.

Cabin is warm, clean and in a great location. We would definitely stay again.

Loved every part of staying in this cozy cabin. Well stocked kitchen, cozy fireplace and fast internet.

Thank you very much for the kind words. The Danish, as well as some other Scandinavian cultures, have a word for what you are describing. But it doesn't really have an English translation: "Hygge". Always a great stay!

We have stayed at Todd and Susan’s properties at least 5 times (maybe more?) on our visits to Grand Marais. Consistent great communication, friendly hosts and comfortable accommodations! Location can’t be beat!

Easy walk to the bay and downtown, very clean cottage and nice landscaping and native plantings. We truly enjoyed our stay there and meeting our hosts!

Love the cabin, love the area!

This is our third year in a row we've stayed here and I have to say it never gets old! The North Shore of Superior is our happy place, and the Writer's Cabin is in a great central location to enjoy it all.

Perfect little cabin

The writers cabin was the perfect little cabin for our stay! It was neat and clean and it was really nice to be able to walk to grab food or just down to the water. Thank you for a great place to come back and relax after a full day of hiking!
