We love this house! Our family came to Newburyport to celebrate our son’s wedding. We were awed by the beautiful view . It was a memory making weekend of rehearsal dinner ,bridesmaid and groomsman preparations in town. Everyone coming and going from the house with tasks to complete for the big day .It was so nice to have the peaceful River House to have moments of peaceful calm in between all the hectic events. We had the flower girl and ring bearer staying here at the house with us as well as our 2 mini-schnauzers.The kids found lots to keep busy in the game room Our dogs were perfectly happy in this obviously dog friendly home. We enjoyed the well-appointed kitchen and amble seating areas as we had wedding guests from both sides of the new family stop by on the last day for breakfast or coffee and a pastry on their way out of town. We could not have had a more comfortable and picturesque setting to be included in our wedding memories.Thank you Janelle.

This property is pure joy! Beautiful home, porch looking out over the river, and so relaxing. The open floor plan is really great! The kitchen is well stocked and the furniture is very comfortable for gatherings. The beds are great… very comfortable. Well maintained and very clean!Close to Newburyport and Plum Island!What a wonderful house! Would recommend for those who want a beach vacation. Excellent home for those with children too.

Beautiful property for our family get togethers in the old family neighborhood! Clean, super spacious, comfy beds and very responsive hosts. Fit our needs perfectly!! Cooked several meals in the well-equipped kitchen. The river view was so lovely - brought back many memories. Thanks for a great stay!

What an amazing vacation! We have stayed on Plum Island for over 10 years. Rentals are becoming scarce and we stumbled upon this listing on VRBO. What a treasure! The house is just as described - newly renovated, beautifully decorated and so spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'd need. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. Bathrooms are well-stocked with plenty of towels and the downstairs bathroom/laundry room was so convenient. The deck overlooking the river has plenty of Adirondack chairs to sit and have morning coffee or read a book. The location itself is quite relaxing and only 10-12 minutes to Plum Island beach or downtown Newburyport. Tendercrop Farm, just a mile or so down the road is not to be missed. This was an outstanding rental and Janelle was the perfect host. We all had a wonderful time!

River's Edge Retreat

The house was perfect just as the listing shows online, plenty of space. A beautiful, private setting on the Parker River. Wonderful for painting, relaxing and enjoying your morning coffee while soaking in the peaceful calm of the water. We enjoyed our time there!

What an AMAZING home to spend our gals birthday getaway! It was perfectly situated to enjoy so much the Newbury/Newburyport area has to offer—wildlife reserve walks, Plum Island beach walks, downtown river strolls, top restaurants, art galleries, shops, outdoor concerts! We packed so much into a long weekend! The home itself was beyond beautiful, exceptionally decorated, immaculate, comfortable bedding, comfortable in ALL ways! …and that deck! What a gorgeous refuge to come “home” to after gallivanting all day! Attentive communication during all aspects of our rental experience was unsurpassed! Highly recommend! Hope to be back! Thank you!

This home is stunning and immaculate. The rooms are spacious, bright, and have every amenity you could ask for and more. We stayed with extended family for a wedding and everyone had tons of room. We also had two young kids and dogs with us, who loved exploring the large yard. The street is quiet and plenty of parking. Straight shot to downtown shopping and restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again!

The Perfect North Shore Retreat

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this beautiful home in Newbury, MA! My husband and I stayed here with our four teenagers, and everything was fantastic from start to finish. The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed.The view of the river was stunning, such a peaceful and relaxing backdrop. We loved the location, which was ideal for exploring both Ipswich and Newburyport. Whether we were heading out for local adventures or just enjoying time together at the house, it truly felt like the perfect retreat.We’re already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend—this place is a gem!

Wonderful Stay in Newbury!

We loved staying with Janelle & Joel. The house truly was stunning, beautifully appointed & impeccably clean. The property was private and quiet and had everything that a group of adults and their 14 year old sons could need for a fun long weekend. The kids swam, kayaked, and fished while we enjoyed watching them from the deck. The views were picture perfect. There was plenty of room for everyone and all the living spaces were spacious and comfortable. Janelle & Joel were welcoming, helpful, & responsive. We can’t wait to come back!

This beautifully renovated home right on the river was the perfect spot for our summer family "reunion." Overall, the home's amenities and view exceeded expectations. The house is obviously newly furnished, even with tags still on some itemss, but unlike most homes furnished for renters, they actually bought high quality sofas and mattresses with comfort in mind. Everything was spotlessly clean and updated. Good shower pressure, new towels and linens, fully stocked kitchen and a plethora of games and toys for both kids and adults that we took full advantage of. Hosts were extrememly attentive and easy to work with. Even though it was slightly above my budget, I am so glad I splurged on this home and would definitely stay here again next time we visit family in the area. A surprise bonus is the local farmer's market store very close by where we purchased delicious fruits and veggies and flowers for grandpa's grave. My grandmother loved coming over during the day to watch the boats and enjoy the river view from the comfort of the couch and AC in the house. Separate AC controls for upstairs and downstairs was also so nice to keep everyone comfortable. Highly recommend.

This riverfront home is beautiful and very peaceful. The kitchen has everything you need, the dining room has a large inviting table, the deck overlooking the river is the best place for morning coffee and a glass of wine after dinner. The bedrooms are large and comfortable…and there is a water view from every room. The owners are very friendly and super responsive. Our multi-generational family is already planning our next visit.

We had a wonderful stay while going back to MA to visit family! The house was perfect for 6 adults and a child! We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck overlooking the Parker River, boating, game nights together and relaxing by the fire pit in the evenings. The home is spacious, clean and very inviting! A true gem! It felt like home away from home! Would highly recommend and we are looking forward to staying again next year!
