Great Location, Super Cute... but not clean

Great location, owner clearly made a big effort to make this place cute however, the kitchen was not clean - at all. I am generous in giving his house a 3 star rating for cleanliness. There were no towels or linens provided which presents a big problem when you are traveling across the US.

I’m so sorry to hear that Mary. We take great pride in offering a clean and well kept home to all of our guests. That’s the first complaint we’ve ever had about the cleanliness of our kitchen or any of our rooms. When I met your daughter with her two children for check-in she didn’t say anything about it. Had she said something then we would have definitely cleaned it to her satisfaction. Our goal is to make sure everyone is 100% satisfied with our house and I’m sorry it did not meet your expectations. You’re always welcome to come back so that we can make sure you have a good “Unforgettable” experience next time.

The Place to Stay at Sunset Beach

Although this is an older property it has been taken well care of. This was our second time staying here. It is easy to get to and very easy to get to the beach. The outdoor shower is a big plus with children. There is plenty of parking. You won't find a better value for a beach stay.

Will be returning as much as possible!

Our trip was exactly what my family and I needed to get through a very difficult time in our life. Tonya was absolutely phenomenal in communication and always there to help if needed! We enjoyed everything about this property, my 4 children had the time of their lives and we had 5 very nice days of sunshine. The sunsets from the tower were always amazing! And the outdoor shower after a long day on the beach was exactly what we needed! Tonya is wonderful and we will definitely be renting from her again. ❤️ Thank you so much! Always Liz :)

Exactly what we expected

Wonderful cottage! Great location! Outdoor shower was very nice- the entire house was great! We enjoyed it very much. Tonya was great to work with. Will return to this property in the near future.

Our first visit to Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach has definitely become a family favorite and the Unforgettable beach cottage was a perfect place to stay. The cottage is nicely decorated, well equipped, and very clean and comfortable. Love the location and close proximately to the beach access. The beach itself is beautiful. Very flat and wide during low tide with soft powdery sand. Love the tide pools! The owner was always quick to respond to any of our questions and offered suggestions to help make our stay “unforgettable”. Thank you Tonya for sharing your beach cottage for others to enjoy! Definitely hope to return for another visit.

Amazing place for our family

The whole stay was amazing. The property owners were amazing at communicating with us everything we needed to know and also fulfilling our request when we needed a new propane tank. They were more than willing to provide assistance when we needed it. The place was amazing and clean and perfect for our family. Only a short walk to the beach as well. We loved it and will be back next year!!!

Cozy Cottage in Great Location

We were impressed by the cleanliness of this cozy cottage upon arrival. The proximity to the beach access was wonderful. The boardwalk is great over the dunes, and the tide pools by the ocean are awesome for the little ones. We enjoyed walking all the way to the end of Bird Island from here, rocking on the front screened porch, and taking in the sunset from the upper deck. This cottage is a great place to relax after a day on the beach. The couches were comfortable, and we had good times around the table eating and playing. The kitchen was just right for making breakfast, lunch, and the occasional dinner. Tonya was great to work with. Thank you for sharing your beach cottage with us!

Ideal Beach House

We were 6, 4 adults & 2 young kids and Unforgettable was an ideal place for us all. Easy walk to the beach, great views from the rooftop deck, comfortable outdoor dining on the screened in porch and an extremely cozy and beachy interior that is very tastefully done. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Relaxing Cottage at a Beautifully Beach

This house was perfect for our long weekend stay. We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach, comfy couches, rooftop deck for viewing sunsets, screened porch for drinking coffee and the storage for our bikes and beach toys under the house. The kitchen is perfectly stocked for making meals and the showers are nice and hot! Thank you for sharing your home with us!!

Great family vacation home

Our family really enjoyed this house! Plenty of room for everyone, great screen porch for sitting and meals and comfy beds. We also love the west end of the island and the beach access is just a very short walk. The owners are responsive and really nice folks!

The property was fantastic !

The property was fantastic from the moment we pulled in. As we each claimed our room and ventured out on the deck outside the living room we all loved the screened in porch. And then we continued to investigate the little areas with a bench here and there. All the way up to the highest point with another bench to sit and enjoy! From that point we could even see the water. The walk to the beach was very close and easy. This allowed us to be able to come and go to the beach as we pleased. In the future we hope to spend less time exploring the area and more time just enjoying the house and the beach! Great family time away.

Perfect house, perfect location!

Our first time renting through VRBO & it couldn’t have been better. Owner was wonderful to work with, house was exactly as described, & Sunset Beach is the perfect place to relax & enjoy the beach! Would love to return!

Clean and suited our needs

This home is good for a small family to spend a week at the beach. We were pleased to find that the kitchen had been updated and included a dishwasher as well as new fridge and stove/oven. The sink was also a very nice farmhouse style sink and the counter space was accommodating. The living room has very comfortable furniture to lie around on after you exhaust yourself at the beach. One thing I want to highlight about this place is that it was very clean and I have high standards regarding cleanliness. Whomever cleans this place knows how to clean! The decor is pretty and not cluttered, which I appreciated. It also has a very nice screened front porch with rocking chairs and a picnic table. There is an awesome rooftop sitting area where you can see the ocean and look over the pretty view of colorful Sunset beach. I would tell you that you need to be able to go up and down stairs. The area under the house is great for covering your vehicles as well as bicycles and kayaks but make sure you bring locks. We enjoyed it.

So many wonderful things to say about this rental!

There are many wonderful things to say about this rental! The house was very clean and well maintained. The short walk (basically across the street) to the beautiful boardwalk lined with greenery, flowers, and blackberries was a beautiful beginning and then ended at the beach. Walking to our right, there were sand dunes on one side and beach on the other. We were able to drive to restaurants once a day and cook as needed for the other meals. We found ourselves mostly hanging around the house with its screened in porch, high roost bench to view the beach, and plenty of table space underneath for dining outside in the rain if needed :) Tonya was very helpful with any questions we had and quickly responded as needed. We hope to return for more family time together in the years to come.

What a wonderful place! We had a great time at Sunset Beach and the house was everything we expected. Very well maintained and very well accommodated. Tonya was terrific in responding to our questions about the place and the local attractions. Can rate her and the place high enough.

Cozy by the sea

Best booking experience ever! Tonya was very personable and accommodating. The house was clean and cozy. The beach access was a short distance away. Calabash, a family favorite destination for seafood, was a short drive. Just what we needed, relaxation and fun by all! Tonya, thank you for sharing your home!

Very enjoyable stay!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at "Unforgettable". The cottage is attractive, clean, comfortable and well appointed. It is very close to the beach access, and the beach is wide and quite beautiful on this end of the island. Tonya was very easy to work with and very responsive to all communications. We would love to go back again for a longer stay!

Beautiful property, Great Location

Our family enjoyed our stay at "Unforgettable". It was truly and unforgettable experience for us. The home was clean and family friendly. We loved taking walks to the beach and enjoyed the nature feel of this Beach. The outlook on top of the roof was wonderful at sunset and sunrise! The owners were very helpful and super friendly, I didn't feel like a renter of the property but a friend of the family. I recommend anyone looking for a great get away and relaxing vacation this is one perfect spot. We hope to go back in the near future!
