This is your home away from home in Northside Kenosha—a cozy and stylish 1960s ranch with just the right blend of retro character and modern updates. Whether you're a family on vacation or a traveling professional looking for a peaceful place to work and unwind, our three-bedroom getaway has everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay.

Start your mornings with coffee on the backyard patio, and wind down in the evenings under the stars. There’s a large sectional for lounging, a café table set, and plenty of grassy space for kids to run and play. It’s the perfect setup for low-key outdoor fun.

Bedrooms Designed for Comfort & Convenience

Primary Suite: Stretch out in the king-size bed, and enjoy the privacy of an attached vintage bathroom featuring the original 1960s tile and vanity. We’ve styled the space to highlight its retro charm while keeping it cozy and fresh. The room also includes dual closets and a quiet work area with a desk and chair—ideal for remote workers or those who need a little focus time.

Second Bedroom: A warm and inviting room with a queen-size bed and an extra-large wardrobe closet for all your storage needs.

Third Bedroom: Perfect for kids, cousins, or friends, this cheerful room includes two full-size beds, a TV for movie nights and a PS4 for all you gamers. It also has direct access to the living room, which is perfect for families with kiddos they want to keep an eye on.

The hallway bathroom has been recently remodeled, featuring a modern LED-lit mirror with a built-in defogger, yet still includes touches of the original tile for that nostalgic flair. Both bathrooms strike a balance between retro and refreshed.

Mike and Erica were fantastic hosts. The communication was open and speedy. The property was bigger than it looked online. We walked in and it smelled clean (in a good way). The only critiques I would make, and this is me being nit picky, is a cork screw and lamps in the bedrooms. There was coffee and chips, as well as cooking utensils. If you’re midwestern, you might want to bring your own casserole dish lol. The property was fantastic and we will be staying here again! Also, my mom said she would love to take the kitchen and put it into her own house.

Thank you for staying with us and your kind review. There used to be a corkscrew but it seems to go missing moreso than not. We will replace it so there is another one to use in the future. We have gone back and forth on whether lamps would be too much in the bedroom given all the overhead lights, but now that we know there is, we will consider adding a few. We would love to host you again!

We had a great stay here, it was clean, quiet and quaint. There are a few areas of improvement I would put on my wish list, and that is just because of personal preference. I wish the windows in the bedrooms opened. They are ancient, and house rules require them stay closed, yet the AC was not sufficient for good air flow. Second, the kitchen was not well stocked for a family cooking during our stay. It was perfect for renters who eat out every meal, but otherwise lacked basic items, such as a tea kettle, pasta pot, sufficient tableware, etc. We managed, and honestly, I stay in so many rentals with my daughter’s band that I expect shortcomings. These were not so bad. The owners are lovely, and I recommend this rental.

Thank you for staying with us. We’re glad you enjoyed the home overall and found us responsive and accommodating. We do want to add a little context for future guests. Prior to this stay, we exchanged numerous emails and were happy to adjust the reservation dates to accommodate the guest’s schedule. At no point during those conversations were any specific kitchen items requested. Had we known something particular was important for their stay, we would have been happy to discuss it in advance. Our kitchen is stocked well beyond what we consider the basics for a short-term rental, with cookware, dishes, utensils, glassware, and other essentials for guests who wish to prepare meals at home. We also hosted guests for month-long stays who cooked regularly and did not experience issues with the kitchen setup. Every household cooks differently, of course, and no vacation rental can reasonably anticipate every specialty item a guest may personally prefer. We would also like to clarify the comment regarding airflow. The AC operates properly and without issue, and there is more than sufficient airflow throughout the bedrooms and living spaces when the system is used as intended. The wood windows are older and, because of the design are meant to remain closed. Opening them is not necessary for ventilation and there are other, new windows that can be opened. We enjoyed hosting this group and appreciate the recommendation, but we want future guests to have an accurate view of the home.

Great stay. Host very receptive and quick to answer questions. The best kitchen. Had everything we needed and of quality. Oddly no cork screw. Comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms. Very neat Mid Century Modern home. Bad weather in Kenosha, zero degrees, would have been nice to be able to use the garage in those conditions. Otherwise plenty of parking in driveway and on street. Nice neighborhood too. We are hoping to use this home again next December.

Perfect for our family of eight! The house was exceptionally clean, spacious, and comfortable. The host provided everything we needed, from fresh bedding and toiletries to a kitchen fully stocked with cooking utensils. Check-in was incredibly easy, and the host's communication was excellent. Highly recommend!

Mike and Erica are Kenosha natives who now live in Arizona. When they are not spending their days in the desert, they, along with their three kids and 4 dogs, travel back to WI to spend time with family. Chez Morty is Mike and Erica's home away from home and they are happy to share it with others who want to visit WI and all the greatness it has to offer.

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

Erica's grandmother used to owe the house across the street from Chez Morty. When Erica was a little girl, she and her cousins spent a lot of time in this neighborhood and loved it. They would play tennis, swim at Washington Bowl, and sled down the big hill by the Velodrome in the winter. Additionally, Mike grew up not far from this neighborhood and he and his brother would frequently ride bikes to the area to trick or treat because the neighborhood gave out the best candy. It's a great neighborhood on the North Side that is about 10-20 minutes from everywhere you want to be. It's also extremely same and quiet with some of the best neighbors Mike and Erica could ask for!

Cosa rende unica questa struttura

It's a 1960s ranch that actually has tile in it from St. Joe's high school. The garage and the basement were finished with some of it while the school was being built. It's also unique in that the bathrooms contain some of the original tile, even though they were remodeled with some modern flare. The home is just a great single level with a lot of space that people enjoy greatly!
