Great week at Tolater

Everything was great about our vacation at the Tolater house. It is roomy, comfortable, and well-equipped. We had 16 people and always felt like everyone had their own space. The location is very good, being so close to the Beach Access. Also, Peace Vacations Realty was wonderful to deal with. I highly recommend this rental

Birthday celebration at Tolater

Our family celebrated my husband's 90th birthday at Tolater. There were 19 of us, four generations. It is a perfect home for a large family gathering.

Golf Trip Review

Great Location/Home for a guys golf trip. We need 12 beds and Tolater provides that. However it would be nice if the lower level king had two queens instead. Would suggest a larger TV in the main living room. The new butler's pantry is a great addition. We most likely will be back in the future.

Wonderful Big Family Beach Retreat

Tolater is wonderful house that accommodates a large family for a great beach/pool week! We spend an equal amount of time outdoors and indoors and enough room and activities to suit all ages. The bikes from peace vacation is an added bonus to get around the neighborhood and to good fishing spots.

Just right in every way

This is a great property for a large group. Easy beach and park access. Lots of walking. Beautiful house.

Tolater House

We love our time at Debordieu and Tolater house.We have rented the house for 4 years now. The house fits us all and we love the pool. A few reasons I didn't give it an excellent is because the elevator kept getting stuck and wouldn't unlock. The furniture is looking very tired. and the rugs are nasty. The attic bedroom has a dresser drawer that won't work and the bed side table. For the amount we pay I feel these things should be fixed. I have let you know for 4 years now. The guest bathroom needs some paint on the main level. Blinds in a lot of the bedrooms weren't working. The shower area and the grill area need some attention. These are all easy fixes and won't cost too much. The house is always rented.

I think our family has stayed at Tolator since the summer it was built. I really appreciate the fact that the owners have continued to invest in the house (e.g., re-did the floors most recently). The pool, the open kitchen and the art room (lower den) for the kids quiet time are all fantastic. Thanks for keeping this one in the rental pool!!!

Lovely sunny beach home. Perfect for a large family gathering.

Lovely clean property. My family kept congratulating me on such a great find. The rooms were all very large and each with their own bathrooms. The third floor room was so adorable and cozy with its private access to the widows watch - perfect for morning yoga. And the porches all around the house allowed a peaceful view of the neighborhood. Super easy access to the beach. We had 16 people and were all very comfortable, Great looking pool and hot tub, though we were there in the winter and didn't take advantage of it. Everything is exactly as it looks in the photos.

Our only disappointment is that there were no beach chairs at our house. Last few years they were provided. Fortunately we had the pool so spent most time there and little time on the actual beach. This was our 15th year in a row renting TOLATER and we love the house! It is the best! (It was our 17th straight summer at DeBordieu. 😃☀️) We had a fabulous time on our vacation! Thank you and have a good rest of your summer!

Good

We really enjoy our family beach week at this house. Thank you! A special thanks to the maintenance team who came very quickly to fix the AC overflow pan and get the AC going - he was a Peace employee, I believe, and really cared about what he was doing for us. Only complaint is we had limited towels and needed more and we had no extra toilet paper anywhere in house. Also no dishwasher detergent. Again, it was a great stay and we are coming back next year!

Tolater Review

Love the new dishwashers and we loved the house as always. Please don't think we are being critical of the house. We love the house but some of our concerns are: the new elevator was very hard to figure out. The gate was closed and all 3 doors shut but we could not get it to come to the floor we were on. Blinds need wands on them in all the bedrooms Definitely need a refrigerator freezer in the basement since the house holds so many people. Susie was able to have a loaner delivered but the owner should have one there. The basement toilet was gone - hoping this is just a temporary problem since we had 7 children who needed it! Master bathroom on left side of the house-handheld hose on tub dripped significantly all over the floor when tub was on King bedroom by basement stairs doorknob fell off Bunk bedroom dresser knobs are off Switch in downstairs den is inoperable bc it's punched into the wall. I think it controls the fan in there. Screen on back screened porch has 2 rips in it. Rug in main den and rug in 3rd floor bedroom need to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned. Thank you

A favorite house now needs some work

The Tolater has great bedroom/ bathroom configuration, comfortable gathering space for large groups, an efficient kitchen, and a pool!! This year, however, it was showing some wear. The rugs and carpets are noticeably stained. The second dishwasher was out of order and not fixed for our week or several weeks before ours. Water drips through the vent hood over the stove and there are leak stains on the kitchen ceiling. There is nowhere to hang towels (or only one hook) in most of the bathrooms which is curious. It is such a perfect house for our family and we have enjoyed it for years. Here's hoping it gets some attention before next summer.

Golf trip

My group of 8 golfers all agreed that this house was our best lodging in our 19 years of annual golf outings. We had trouble with one of the dishwashers but maintenance responded right away. The only negative event occurred one night with a front gate security person. One of our guys went to dinner with local friends, and the guard informed them they could not re-enter DeBordieu after dinner to bring him to the house, because we had not registered with Peace. The security guard's logic was especially stupid because the locals had been allowed to come in to pick up their friend before dinner, and all we did was call the front gate. I was able to go see the guard and resolve the problem, but it was a very unfriendly situation.

After having come to DeBordieu for more than 30 years, I was so disappointed in the new 200.00 daily fee for the ability to use the facilities. I was told that once paid, “pick which activities you want to do with your family whether it's swimming at the pool, using the fitness center, playing tennis or pickleball, make sure you do it on the same day to take advantage. The club didn't disclose that on top of the 200.00, I would also have to pay the designated fees. The house was great once the air conditioning was fixed, which the owners handled well. Thank goodness for the pool as my grandchildren would not have had a chance to swim without the 200.00 daily fee!!! Thank you for another wonderful family reunion!
