The property was in a great location, lobby was very nice, the staff was helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. Our rooms did need some updating. The beds were not comfortable and the bathroom needed some updating. The part that the double beds would accommodate 4 people was not accurate. The beds were too small and the room was clearly large enough to accommodate 2 queen sized beds.

Smaller room than I expected, but I am not from NYC...so that was on me! Location was great and close to what we wanted to see!

Booked two rooms at the new yorker, both of which had very outdated bathrooms with poor ventilation. One room was barely big enough to fit two double beds, while the other could’ve fit 3-4 double beds. It is an old building, but is decorated nicely & is fairly clean. We really liked the location of the property/proximity of the train/theaters. We enjoyed our stay here, but I would be mindful that not all rooms are updated as shown in pictures and that the size of the rooms may vary.

The staff, location and property were good. Management was terrible. We were assessed a 500 fee because the hotels sensors said we were smoking in our hotel room, this is completely untrue. Management did not care and refused to remove the fine, even when 3 other couples experienced the same false accusation. The air quality in the city was over 100, which is moderate and can affect hotel smoke sensors. Upon looking at further reviews this appears to be a common theme with this hotel and falsely accusing guests.
