We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The river is truly amazing and peaceful. Yes there are standard stairs to reach the main level which do have a handrail. The owner is looking to replace the tract lighting in the kitchen, also. We are sorry that this was not rectified when it happened during your stay. We do not advertise the cabin as private, but it does have a very large, flat yard with a firepit next to the river. We clean out the jacuzzi tub and run jets regularly, so we are checking into this issue. The King mattress in the master bedroom is basically brand new(less than 2 months old).
