Aurora Outpost Alaska - Off-Grid Cabin on 100 Acres with Cedar Hot Tub and Views
***** This cabin is highly rated on leading vacation rental platforms. *****
WARNING: This cabin is OFF-GRID and DRY. If you do not know what that means, do not fear, I will explain!
Aurora Outpost is located on a private 100 acre homestead just 10 minutes outside Fairbanks in the hills above Fox, AK. This cabin is a great way for couples and newlyweds to disconnect from the hectic world we live in and enjoy the peace and quiet of tranquility and seclusion on your own private 100 acres. Located at the end of a quiet residential road, through a gate, and continue along the private 1/2 mile long driveway as it meanders through the forest to the cabin. Truly a place to experience Alaska the way it was meant to be!
The cabin does not have electricity, however, many of the typical comforts of modern life can still be enjoyed. Provided in the cabin are several battery operated lanterns that can be moved and hung in various places in and around the cabin, giving a true rustic experience while providing ample lighting to enjoy the space. There are also candles that can be used to set a romantic mood while cooking and enjoying a meal cooked on the propane stove. The cabin has two sources of heat, a propane heater that provides a beautiful fire that warms the space as well as creates a beautiful ambiance, and a wood stove for staying warm on those extra chilly Alaska nights.
The cabin does not have plumbing, however, it does still have many of the same amenities that a typical house would have. There is a sink with a water jug that can be used for drinking, dishes, handwashing, and any other use you can think of. There is a private outdoor shower with a view that is available from May until September, as well as a large Japanese style cedar soaking tub. Perfect for staying warm and relaxing while you watch the aurora dance above your head.
The interior of the cabin is a beautiful blend of both modern and rustic aesthetics. A way for you to experience real rustic Alaska with a modern luxurious touch. From the front door to the stairs, counters, loft, deck, outhouse, and cabin itself, everything has been custom made and sourced from the surrounding property or locally. Aurora Outpost is a true Off-Grid Alaskan Oasis. In the interior you will find everything you need for your stay. Plates, bowls, utensils, pots, pans, cups, mugs, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, wood, extra blankets, towels, and a book shelf curated with Alaskan books found at various antique shops, as well as an assortment of games. Upstairs is a loft with a queen sized bed situated perfectly to stay toasty warm all night long.
The exterior of the cabin is where you will find the beautiful wood-fired cedar hot tub located on an oversized deck overlooking your own private valley, all of which is part of the expansive property. Follow the winding boardwalk to the custom built outhouse and beyond to the network of private trails that wander through the forest. Take a refreshing shower after a long day of hiking the trails while you soak up the views across the valley.
Extras! Included in your stay is a free hiking or snowshoeing tour across the property. This tour can vary in length and duration and can be tailored to your specific wants and needs. Its a great way to get out and learn about the various flora and fauna that make Alaska so unique and beautiful. I have personally done tours for almost a decade that have taken me all over Alaska and i can answer any and all questions you might have. During aurora season, i also offer free aurora photography classes. I have spent over a decade aurora chasing and have learned all the tricks to taking amazing quality aurora photographs. This class is done in the evening, where i will join you at the cabin and help you set up your cameras or phones to properly take aurora photos. Then once your equipment is ready i will teach you how to look for and spot the aurora in the night sky. I will also share several of my favorite personal spots around town to view the aurora that tend to be less crowded by other tourists.
If you are a couple looking for adventure in a cabin that allows you to experience Alaska the way it was meant to be, while providing many comforts and luxuries of modern life, then you have found your paradise! Welcome to Aurora Outpost Alaska!

Informazioni sull’host
Informazioni sull’host
I am originally from the East Coast US and moved to Alaska in 2015 after realizing a normal office existence just wasnt for me. Ever since I was a child I had a deep yearning for the wild areas of the world and the flora and fauna that inhabit it. Being a descendent of Scandinavian immigrants, that pull was always to the north. When I finally landed in Alaska, I knew I had found my home. The people, the culture, the forest, and all it's inhabitants was a breath of fresh air in an all too busy world. I currently live down the street from the cabin with my wife and our energetic son.
Perché ha scelto questa struttura
I chose this property and neighborhood because of its size, proximity to town and amenities, and its natural beauty. Truly encompassing everything that is great about Alaska!
Cosa rende unica questa struttura
Finding large and untouched spaces close to town is a challenge. As places become developed, large untouched tracts are become more valuable as they contain pieces of forest that contain a wider diversity of flora and fauna. allowing for guests to experience what Alaska truly means.
