The view was fabulous! The condo was stocked full with everything we needed:pool chairs and toys, kitchen utensils, seasonings, soaps and lotion. And the host, Fereshteh, was extremely communicative and helpful!

The property was amazing! The communication with Fereshteh at KLVR was outstanding. She answered all questions promptly, even after business hours! We were so blessed to get this property on relatively short notice due to previous host cancellation. The view of the ocean was beautiful. We spent a lot of time on the lānai. We would 100% stay here again.

This was a last minute booking for my family in August before my kids new school year began. I’ve stayed at Honua Kai maybe 10 years ago and had a great time. Although the property overall has aged a bit it still felt convenient and we had a wonderful time. Our particular unit was clean and spacious, faced the pool area and was a stones throw away from the beach. Our host was extremely communicative and professional. We had an issue with one of the lamps and she fixed it immediately. I would give our host 5 stars for service and hospitality. The valet and parking was incredibly easy to use and one of the best things is the huge lawn area for kids to run around and play in. I wish the pool area was kept a bit cleaner and could do with more host service offering drinks or food but overall though it was fantastic!

Wonderful stay

The property is in a great location. Easy beach access and 3 pools to choose from. The lanai was a great spot for morning coffee and evening relaxing and watching the sun set or rise over the water. The kitchen is well stocked but with the food truck court in walking distance, cooking is optional!

We stayed for 2 weeks and really enjoyed it!! Having two master bedrooms bedrooms with king size beds was a must for us when booking a property. The chairs, sand toys & cooler included with the property kept us from spending money to purchase those items when we arrived. There were nice backpack beach chairs that we used daily and our boys enjoyed playing with the sand toys at the beach. The store off the lobby was a nice addition from last year and very convenient. The only recommendation I would give the property managers is to fix and/or replace the vacuum and dust pan. It was hard to leave but we will definitely book it again! replace the dust pan

condo is nicely appointed and the kitchen has everything needed for dining in.

This complex and condo unit was so nice we hardly ventured anywhere else. The two masters suites are perfect for two couples. All beach needs are there and snorkeling is great right in front of the resort. That was a bonus we didn’t expect and we saw some incredible species. Check in and out was easy and we liked having the bracelet key for everything.

We had a great time. The resort is well kept and it was nice to have pool service from Dukes. I wish our building’s store was open. We talked to others too who found it inconvenient to have to go to the building next door of sundries and snacks. Our condo was wonderful, great location, very clean.

Great condo in a resort setting

This was a condo in a resort setting with all of the amenities you are looking for. The condo is better in person than the pictures posted. There are multiple pools great for families. It can get busy during high season but very quiet when the kids are back in school season. Resort a few blocks away from the grocery store and other food places. Super convenient. We had a great stay.

Great stay in Kaanapali!

We had a great time staying at this condo - it really exceeded our expectation. The lanai is great, the view is wonderful, and the resort pool was perfect! Fereshteh was easy to contact and communicate with - we will definitely be staying at this place again! Quick tip: when entering the garage, park on the right side about half way down; that is closest to the elevator that you'll use. Mild con: the beach outside this resort is not the best - but the south end of Kaanapali is only a few minutes away by car.

Amazing property

This is definitely a 5* property! The condo was very clean, had all the kitchen gadgets you would ever need, beach chairs, toys, etc. The check in process was extremely easy. Just drove up to the valet and let them know we were there. We had the room key code already and it made for such as easy check in. Everything in the condo was in working order. Ease of communication and response times were exceptional. We will be booking again!

Beautiful Clean room in a wonderful resort!

We have been to Maui many times, but this condo was by far our favorite setting the bar for future trips. Our kids loved the pools and freedom to safely roam around. The condo was large enough for a family of 5. We had plenty of space! The condo itself is very clean and the kitchen was awesome. We especially loved the outdoor/indoor living with the big glass doors and the view. We usually do alot of driving when we are there, but we drove very little and mostly stuck around the area because it was so great! Location is fabulous and quiet! Our only issue was the towel machine. It NEVER worked and we spent alot of time everyday tracking down someone to help but they do not like to help anyone who is staying in an owner condo which seems ridiculous considering they probably get a decent amount per month from the owners to have a place there. Everything else was perfection! Thanks for a great stay!

A Great Property!

Our family of 5 adults celebrated Christmas in Maui and stayed at this wonderful property. The unit was spacious and comfortable and very nicely appointed. We never felt crowded unless we all tried to squeeze into the kitchen at one time. Two people can easily cook together, but three made for a crowd. Everything was very clean and in great shape. We loved the large sliding doors that opened out to the lanai, truly bringing the outside in. We also loved that the master bedroom had a seperate AC control so that we didn't all have to agree on a temperature. The view was very nice and the ocean was easy to see from the lanai. In general the staff at the resort were helpful and friendly, but keep in mind that since you are renting directly from an owner, you are not a guest of the resort, so you don't have housekeeping or certain other amenities you might as a resort guest (such as making charges to your room at Duke's or the on site market). This was never an issue to us. Working with Fereshteh was a breeze and she was very responsive from the point of our intial reservation through the completion of our trip. This property is large so if you are looking for your own private piece of paradise the Honua Kai may not be for you. But if you like the amenities of larger resort properties the Honua Kai is great. We've been fortunate to have been to Maui many times and have stayed at several different properties on all parts of the island, but this was one of the best. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Not for us

We stayed late January to early February 2023 and unfortunately the resort and the condo were not what we were expecting. First, the resort itself is older and undergoing maintenance, which means more noise and equipment than usual, such as cranes for power washing and painting the exterior. The landscapers started around 7 am with their leaf blowers and hedge trimmers, too. Second, the resort seems geared towards families with kids. The pools were pretty crowded with adults and children, and the beach can get crowded, too. There's also not much option for shade unless you get there early or purchase beach umbrellas (which we did). The condo itself was okay, but not as clean or comfortable as we expected for the price that we paid. The dryer is not vented so you are not supposed to put sheets or towels in it; the bathrooms don't have hand towel racks so you're always trying to air the wet towels out; the knives and scissors in the kitchen are dull, the mattresses are very soft (not great if you prefer a firmer mattress); and the balcony is in the sun for most of the day, except for early morning when the noise in the courtyard below begins or in the evening. We did contact the property manager about a week into our stay and she said had we contacted her sooner she would have tried to fix some of these issues. She was very responsive and did offer to send someone over to fix the broken toilet paper holder and also offered us a dining voucher for our inconvenience, which we declined. We did send her photos though of the areas that were in need of cleaning and repair. In summary, if you want to stay near the beach in Maui with your family and kids, this might be a good condo and resort for you. Lots of other kids and not high end or fussy. I do think for the price though, there might be better options for a beach vacation.

The property was nice! We enjoyed the grounds and resort! The room was nice and spacious. My communication with Fereshteh Tali was not very friendly. But we really enjoyed where the condo’s location was and the amenities!

I am glad you enjoyed your stay at our beautiful condo. I am sorry you were upset that I was not able to provide a refund when the water company turned off the water for a few minutes the afternoon before your departure. The water was off for a very short time and the resort and our company did not have control of the waster shut off. To our future guests, if you read my other reviews, you will see that my guests appreciate my communication with them, when guests expect a refund unreasonably and it is declined, they get upset.

Awesome vacation

The condo was beautiful with 2 very nice bedrooms and bathrooms. The ac could of been a little bit better , it just turned off too much and you had to keep turning back in every time the balcony door was opened. It would of been nice if it turned itself back on when the door was closed. Otherwise it was a very nice place and I would stay here again if I have the chance.

Excellent stay

Having been to Maui on several occasions, this location provided the best snorkeling just outside the condo. The condo was beautiful and easily accommodated the 5 people in our group.

Great Condo!

Thanks for a fantastic stay - the condo is just as pictured and is in a fantastic location in the complex. We loved being able to see the pool from our place, hear the fun being had in the courtyard, and being close to the elevator for easy access to everything. A bonus was some beach equipment in the condo -- chairs, toys, and a rolling cooler. Thanks!

Perfect for families

This condo was perfect for our family. It was so nice to have 2 bedrooms & a pull out sofa. Our kids loved the waterslide. The proximity to the beach was amazing & their were plenty of beach toys in the closet to use. Having Dukes restaurant on property was also a nice treat.

Great stay in Hawaii

Our stay in Hawaii and this location was excellent – Fereshteh was an excellent host to work with. The condo had everything we needed and when we couldn’t locate an ironing board one morning, Fereshteh provided a brand new one within the day! The condo and resort were everything you need to get a little R&R, thanks again!!
