The view is breathtaking. It’s a bit of a beautiful drive through the mountains, but it’s a wonderful secluded place that we really enjoyed. Take your food and just be there! Strongly recommend. Binoculars would be a great thing to take with.

Treehouse is our favorite place to stay in NC. The views are incredible and the cabin is always clean and comfortable upon arrival. Communications with James are consistently prompt on any topic. We try to visit 2-3 times/year and still feel it is a tremendous value. I would highly recommend this mountain retreat to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway, but there are also many things to see and do in the area if you have interest. Just ask James.

View of extra large deck is nothing short of amazing. You can see Mt Mitchell as if you were 100 feet away. The house is charming and rustic. Great views from living area of Mt. Mitchell.

You can't have a more peaceful and cozy experience. The view is beautiful and near enough to many things to do. The cabin is only 35 minutes from a Dark Sky park for stargazing and watching the sunset, only about an hour from Asheville, and hour and a half away from Blowing Rock and very near many hiking trails. It's evident that the place itself is well-loved and cared for by the owners and other renters - I am one of many return visitors according to the guest book! We've had a wonderful time on sunny days, cold days, and also the best cozy time on a gray rainy day. The kitchen is small but well stocked with all the tools you need, the bed is comfortable, the windows are huge and the new rainfall shower head is a delight! What you see in the pictures is truly what you get, and even better!

I had to ask the host something and he was very friendly and responsive. The cabin was just as perfect as it looks in the pictures. The views were even better. We went hiking on several trails, most of which were within minutes of the cabin. I'd love to do it again.

We just returned from our most recent stay with Treehouse and wanted to provide a current review of the property. It remains one of our favorite VRBO getaways. The house is always clean upon arrival and the check in process is extremely easy. James is very responsive to any communication and also a great reference for any dining or activities in the area. The view off of the deck is amazing and the serenity of the property keeps us coming back. I would highly recommend Treehouse for a couples retreat or family vacation.

Really enjoyed staying here with my son. The cabin has a beautiful view of the mountains and is very cozy. The shower is amazing. A great treat after a day of hiking. Roaring Fork is right around the corner with a beautiful waterfall. I would stay here again.

I've lost count on the number of trips to The Treehouse! We have made it a yearly trip! The whole gang loves the beauty---the view is spectacular! We spent a lot of time in the adirondack chairs and at the picnic table enjoying the view and cooking out! We did venture out to hike the Roaring Fork Waterfall---breathtaking! We look forward to our next visit!

My wife and I love this cabin. It is always clean and comfortable with striking views of Mount Mitchell and surrounding mountains. This was a first November visit and the colors of the trees were amazing. Highly recommend this cabin for a peaceful getaway and the town of Burnsville has some great restaurants for dining options.

Gorgeous Relaxing Mountain Retreat

We grilled, hiked, played games, did puzzles, read, and just enjoyed coffee and drinks on the porch overlooking the mountain view. It was absolutely perfect.

I’ve stayed at this property multiple times and this was my first solo trip. I felt entirely comfortable as a woman traveling alone in this area. The treehouse has consistently been a wonderful place to stay - you can tell it is cared for as somebody’s home yet you do not feel like you are intruding into somebody else in the space. I booked a return visit before I even left!
