Nice place. Great lake front property with a boat ramp just a block away. Pizza place a few blocks away.Close to many outdoor activities and small town atmosphere. Shoppingf and bars within 15 min. Host was quick to reply. We will be back.

Communication was excellent!House rules and guidelines were perfect and easy to follow. Outside deck was nicely shaded. Fire pit was used a couple of nights and we had perfect weather to enjoy peaceful evenings! Nice lawn area, docks were used for launching our own kayaks. Overall nice property. Clean except for under a few pieces furniture. If you are a nature lover, red headed woodpeckers, geese and goslings, pelicans, squirrels, bunnies, and cranes a plenty.

We really liked the nature, the water, and the surrounding area — the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. The owner was friendly, responded quickly, and tried to be helpful during our stay.However, the house inside is very old, especially the kitchen, which did not feel very clean and definitely needs updating. In our opinion, the price also does not fully match the condition of the house, as we expected better comfort for that amount of money. Overall, we still had a good stay, but the house could use improvements.

Thanks for your feedback. I was honestly surprised by the 4/10 rating, especially since I checked in throughout your stay and no concerns or feedback were mentioned at the time. Whilst every guest has different preferences when it comes to design and finishes, Rustic Retreat is exactly what its name suggests: a cozy lakeside cabin retreat. The kitchen, furnishings, amenities, and overall condition of the property are accurately represented in the listing photos, so there shouldn’t have been any surprises upon arrival. Everything in the home is also fully functional and intended to provide a comfortable, relaxing stay rather than a newly renovated luxury experience. Given the many positive comments in your review about the nature, water, atmosphere, my communication, and the overall stay, a 4/10 rating feels disproportionate to the experience described. With that said, we are always looking for ways to continue improving the guest experience, so thank you for sharing your perspective and for choosing Rustic Retreat. 🦌

We started our weekend by having an issue with another VRBO listing, which meant we had to completely rebook our vacation. Thankfully, we found this home, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!The host was absolutely amazing—so responsive, accommodating, and willing to work with us. She even allowed us to check in early and gave us the option to extend our stay with a later checkout. She truly went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.The home itself was cozy, comfortable, and beautiful. We loved being able to use the kayaks and canoe for fishing and getting some morning exercise. The neighborhood was quiet, peaceful, and lovely.After the way our trip started, this stay completely turned things around for us. This was by far the best host experience I’ve had, and I would absolutely come back and stay here again. Highly recommend!

The view from the property was beautiful and the accommodations were more than adequate. Hadieh Tazangi was a pleasure to work with. We had a very serious family medical emergency just days before the trip and she was so patient and understanding. She checked every day to see if there was anything she could do to make the trip less stressful for us. While my daughter and I were unable to make the trip my husband and our grown sons enjoyed their time at the house. We would recommend this property to any family wanting to enjoy the quiet lake life. We will most likely book this property again.
