Cottage Mary Rose è un bellissimo cottage del 18 ° secolo, dipinto di bianco, tetto di paglia. Uno dei pochi rimasti in Irlanda, è quello che sogni quando pensi all'Irlanda. Immerso nella valle pastorale del Monte Aquila con un ruscello che attraversa il tranquillo giardino del cottage. Vantiamo un giardino tutto naturale. Sei accolto dalla doppia porta rossa brillante. Quando entri, hai la sensazione di essere tornato indietro nel tempo. Con il suo camino in pietra e gli alti soffitti a soppalco nel salotto è un'ottima sala per conversazioni e giochi. Gli oggetti d'antiquariato riempiono il cottage con mobili tradizionali e confortevoli. È incredibile pensare a cosa sia sopravvissuto questo cottage. Ha davvero fatto molta strada dalla vita tradizionale irlandese all'avere i lussi che sogniamo. C'è una vasca idromassaggio e lavastoviglie e una stufa Aga rosso brillante in modo da poter davvero cucinare. Davvero un posto ideale da chiamare casa mentre esplori i numerosi tesori di CountyKerry. Abbiamo WiFi e TV via cavo con molti canali.

If you are looking for old world charm, this is your place! It is spacious is the common living areas.However, the closet and dresser storage is minimal. We came for a week and lived out of our suitcase.no vanity.The other bedroom is a bit morespaciou because the bed is smaller. There is an armoire there that was packed with pillows, blankets and linens. We had to moves all that on the floor to use the shelves for vlothes.The master bedroom off the kitchen has a very large bed with a wardrobe closet but no drawers to put clothes not needing to be hung up. The bathroom.is super tiny with

Mary Rose was charming and well kept, it is an old cottage but was exactly what I was looking for! Being there a month, I made friends within the community and enjoyed every minute of their company. Hughes Pub is very walkable and is a lively atmosphere on the weekends and a perfect place to go and meet the locals from Cordal. I went to Gaelic football matches, both men and women’s games and it was fun to see why football is their favorite pastime.Castleisland is a good starting point for many of the attractions in Kerry and it was lovely to not be moving around all the time. Many places to visit within an hour and a half drive.The caretaker Timmy was responsive as was Caroline, the other caretaker. Can’t express in words what my month was like! Tears were shed when I had to go, but isn’t that what we Irish do?

Hughe’s is a blessing to have right there. Sean Hughe’s is a local man that like us, had a vision. We bought the cottage in 2000 and Hughe’s was a new build and opened in 2005. He did an absolutely amazing job and now the tiny village of Cordal is a holiday destination😉 Cottage Mary Rose, named after my lovely mother dates to around 1750 and is on the Irish national registry of protected structures since 2004. Don’t be fooled by old. The cottage has increased water pressure, an indoor Jacuzzi and amazing hot tub on the expansive deck overlooking the stream below. And great landscape lighting. A bit of heaven I would say. ☘️We look forward to having you as our guests🌹

The property was a lovely thatched roof cottage. The hot tub and amazing gardens were a highlight. It is an older cottage and could use some upkeep. Timothy, the caretaker, was a delight and helped us become acquainted to the area upon arrival. This was a good location to visit the Ring of Kerry and Dingle. Thank you!!

We are very happy that you enjoyed the cottage and the grounds. The cottage is a constant labor of Love and we are always planning what is next to be done. The cottage dates back to the mid 1700’s and is on the Republic of Irelands protected structures. There are only about 1000 of them left. Our caretakers are amazing and love what they do. It was such a pleasure to have you as our guests.

It was beautiful Irish cottage. The gardens are in progress but still amazing. Stepping outside and camellia blooming, azalea and roses it was heavenly. We didn’t get to use the hot tub because we were to busy.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay! The gardens do feature many camellia, azalea and rhododendron, including our 25 ft. In the east garden. Our palm, hydrangeas and Monkey Puzzle are really interesting plants also. And of course, our wild fuchsia. A garden is always in progress with and we are always developing different sections. It is a paradise for local birds. When I was there in April my Merlin bird device noted 10 different birds. Thank you for being our guests.

A beautifully snug little cottage in Castleisland Had everything we needed and didnt want for anything. Quite literally down the road from Hughes Bar for a pint by the fire. It was a good location for day tripping to Dingle and Killarney with a host of other villages to visit like NewCastle West and Adare.

The cottage is lovely, and modern equipped. The jacuzzi is really great. The garden is beautiful. And from there we made day trips to the Kerry way and Limerick. Nearby is a church and a pub. We have had a good stay and the housekeepers were very helpful.

Great location and amazing property!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage was centrally located to many towns and attractions with a very cozy atmosphere. We loved the hot tub, stream, and beautiful gardens. The local pub was also a great highlight!

Great stay in the irish countryside!

Quaint old fashioned rustic irish cottage just 30 min drive from killarney. Beautiful grounds, deck, hot tub. Area is scenic and quiet. Cottage had all necessary amenities. Easy communication with owner as well.

Cottage Mary Rose is a listed, Protected Structure. We mix the old with the new. Our hearth room (as shown in our photos) has a large, antique, padded bench with pillows. There is also a very comfortable settee. Up in the loft there is an additional , comfortable chair that our caretaker would happily bring down if requested. Belfast (farm sinks) are extremely popular world wide and of course are used in kitchens. Ours are original keeping in with the character of the cottage. I cut and pasted an article below. A Belfast sink is a traditional, deep, white ceramic or fireclay sink, featuring a distinctive weir overflow that separates it from other similar styles. Originally developed in the 18th century in Belfast, Ireland, these sinks were designed to be large and deep to manage high-volume water use, which was more available there than in London. They are popular for their farmhouse aesthetic, durability, and practical, roomy basin for washing large pots and pans. All of our bedding is very comfortable and we use excellent linens. The en-suite has a beautiful, very comfortable King size bed, so for some it may be tight but worth it for a great nights sleep. As far as added comfort, we have increased water pressure for amazing showers, a Jacuzzi Tub in the main bath and a massage shower in the en-suite. On top of all of this you can enjoy our new hot tub on our large back deck as you listen to the rushing stream below☘️

Great cottage for a long weekend, perfect for visiting Killarney and the surrounding area and hiking. The cottage has everything we needed and the host was very helpful and welcoming.

The cottage is lovely and everything we hoped for when booking a thatched roof cottage. We enjoyed listening to the stream that runs through the backyard and how cozy and homey the cottage felt. The only negative about our stay was that it was too short.

Great stay in an adorable cottage!

Our stay here was wonderful. This cottage has been around for a long time and we appreciated staying in a little piece of history. The cottage felt like our home away from home. We loved the huge deck in the back as well as the hot tub! Great communication with property managers & hosts.

Difficult to find, don’t trust the GPS, go to Hughes Bar, it’s just a bit down the road from there. Once there it is the most beautiful, magical place I have ever been. The grounds are wonderful, with a babbling brook in the back, behind the deck. Caroline and Timmy were most helpful getting us to the cottage and settled in. I can’t say enough good things, it is truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Authentic Cottage

The Cottage Mary Rose has been updated but still holds onto the charm and history of Ireland we were looking for.

A week spent with family

We had an absolutely lovely time at the cottage. We spent a week with family touring around County Kerry and enjoyed every minute of it. Everything was perfect.

My family is of Irish descent. Our first time to the Emerald Isle was in 1996. I fell in love with it as every one does and knew then that some day I would have a home there.........a Thatched Cottage. Being involved in architechture,I had always been fascinated in thatched roof cottages. When I purchased Cottage Mary Rose in 2000 I never realised how much I would fall in love with it. It is my true passion, named after my mother, Mary Rose Bowler, I wanted to share this amazing bit of Irish History with others....

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

I wanted a historic thatched cottage off of the beaten track but close enough to tourist attractions. I am an avid gardener and knew that this location was perfect for a great garden. There are fuschia & camelias every where! The stream was the frosting on the cake. So dramatic because of the ravine and rushing water below. The sound is so calming and tranquil. I preferred the small village of Cordal because you get a TRUE feel of the real Ireland instead of the touristy areas. I was happy enough with the Church and Kearney's Grocer.....I thought all it needed was a pub......my dream was answered and Hughes Pub was built by Sean Hughes a local Cordal lad in 2006. It is a beautiful pub and great for local gab, a great Pint and a game of pool. All with in a 5 minute walk. Our great cottage has stood the test of time. I love sharing this peice of Heaven with others.........

Cosa rende unica questa struttura

Cottage Mary Rose is a wonderful blend of a living bit of history. Add to this a Jacuzzi tub, rain shower and hot tub over looking a stream and you have it all. We even provide WiFi internet connection. Large kitchen which is wonderful for entertaining. The Heritage cooker is probably the best method of cooking food. Besides the Irish farm table there is also a front patio for dining and the deck where you can dine with the sounds of the peaceful stream and song of the birds. Nothing beats relaxing in the hot tub at the end of a long day while enoying the stars above...........absolute Heaven.............
