Questo affascinante cottage, costruito nel 1964, è stato recentemente aggiornato senza rovinare la semplicità architettonica del suo design. La vista spettacolare sul lago e l'ambiente tranquillo rendono questo luogo un rifugio meraviglioso. La cucina completamente funzionale ha tutto ciò di cui hai bisogno per preparare i tuoi pasti: fornello, forno, lavastoviglie, microonde, frigorifero, macchina per il caffè e alcune nozioni di base come sale, spezie, olio e farina. Il ponte ha un barbecue a gas, un tavolo da pranzo e sedie e un'area salotto separata. La casa dispone di wi-fi, un lettore DVD portatile (senza TV), stereo, telefono, lavatrice e asciugatrice. La proprietà e la sua spiaggia sabbiosa appartata si trovano sul braccio ovest del lago Kootenay a soli 15 chilometri (9 miglia) da Nelson. Real hidden gem, with incredible lake views and private sandy beach. As well, the cabin was fully stocked, no need to bring additional items from home.

Very cute, very clean property with a lovely private beach for swimming. Our dog loved the beach and it was nice to include him on vacation! The outdoor shower with warm water was nice. Kitchen was well equipped for any cooking, and the beds were quite comfortable. The deck was a lovely spot with a view for morning coffee. Location is nicely outside of town, but not too far if you need to run in. Chris was available if needed, and kept us up to date with a small repair that was completed before we arrived!

This was our third time staying at this property. It was just as wonderful this time as every other. I will never get tired of sitting on the patio and looking out over the lake. Chris is a perfect host and the cabin is super well stocked. We hope to be back soon.

Great host, clean and comfortable house, Magnificent beach (very, very private). My wife, daughter and family dog had an excellent week even with poor weather. We will be back no doubt!!!

We have been to this cottage 4 times, each stay has been wonderful. The cottage is well stocked, clean, great location not far from Nelson. We all enjoyed the private beach, our Yorkie loves the water. The host is excellent. We would definitely hope to have the opportunity to come back. Thank you

Family Vacation Rental

Real gem to stay at just outside of Nelson. Although at first you may hear the traffic noise, this is more than offset by a beautiful view of the lake to enjoy a glass of your favourite beverage and private beach to the cabin below (chairs on the beach). We enjoyed our time on the beach and paddle boarding each day. Overall the cabin was very clean, and well appointed, and would certainly stay here again and recommend to friends and family!

Wonderful

This was our 2nd time staying here and it was just as fantastic this time. Chris is a great host and excellent communicator. The cabin was spotless inside and out and very well stocked. Kootenay Lake is probably my favourite place on earth. We love the privacy of the cabin and the private beach. I hope we’ll get to go back soon.

Sweet getaway

We had a great time, very private location on the lake. There is an adjustment to the road noise if you’re not used to that kind of thing. Overall it was a great experience and plan to come back next year. The cottage has beautiful views, and a wonderful private beach for hanging out, and swimming . The cottage was cozy and we felt right at home. Communications were great with Chris.

Amazing Views

The cottage has amazing views of the lake, private setting. There is a covered deck that can be enjoyed in all kinds of weather. The cottage is very well stocked. The private beach is a 2 minute walk down hill, shallow water entry with comfortable chairs, umbrella and side tables which makes it nice to stay there for hours. The location is great, a short 10 minute drive to Nelson. Chris is an amazing host, quick to reply to any questions you may have. We would love to go back again some day.

Not as advertised

We were disappointed on several things about this property. The pictures used to advertise were out of date and did not represent what we expected. They do need to update the photos. We did have some other issues but Chris was great to respond to get things corrected The cottage is well supplied and once the beach was cleaned up the beach was great and the view from the deck down the lake is spectacular. The property is right off the highway and the traffic noise can be loud. I picked this property because of the beach. It is nice to have your own beach and lake location

Our stay at the Lake House was very enjoyable. We had cool, off and on rainy weather but the lake view from inside was amazing! So when we did spend time indoors it was very pleasant. The house is exceptionally well stocked, so a very pleasant place to stay. We had excellent communication with the owner. The only negative is that the house is right off the highway so it can be fairly noisy at some times of the day- if you’re down at the beach though the highway noise is minimal. A very nice vacation rental!

Fabulous Property

This cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Completely private and secluded including the beach (which appeared to have had the sand raked prior to our arrival! Unexpected and appreciated!) The cottage was immaculate and anything one might need was provided) The quintessential cottage experience! There is some traffic noise from nearby highway but it didn't bother us . Highly recommend!

Next to Perfect

Just about perfect! We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed every moment except for the weather which turned out to be cold and damp, not the fault of the house or host. This was our third stay in two years, so we must like this place very much!

A perfect retreat

The view ...the beach...and a fully organized and functional kitchen made our retreat perfect. The historic pictures of family on the walls showed me that this was a well loved abode....we will be back...and hopefully rent some kayaks.

Beautiful Secluded Cottage!

We had a great time in Nelson at this wonderful little piece of paradise. While there were a few cobwebs and dust bunnies floating around, the private beach and magnificent views certainly made up for them! The location is unparalleled and we were very happy with how well-stocked the kitchen was. Everything you could need right on the shores of a pristine lake!

Our mother, Janet, purchased this property in 1928 when the best way to get there was by boat from Nelson. She taught school in Nelson and loved the outdoors. It was an apple farm and the old house that they used for camping is right next door the the cottage (which Janet and her husband built in 1964). Our cousins live in the next two houses along the lake and step in as property hosts while we are away.

Janet's parents moved to Nelson in the 1890's and her father, Alexander Carrie, was the architect of many of the historic buildings in downtown Nelson. But the biggest reason they all stayed is the beauty of the Kootenays.

The house is comfortable, the beach is relaxing, the views are spectacular and there are so many activities minutes away but you won't want to leave.
