Classica, affascinante Rowayton vittoriana intorno al 1898 con atmosfera moderna, luminosa, pulita, allegra ed elegante, con vista sul fiume Five Mile. Residenza principale, ben tenuta con arredi di qualità, la casa dispone di cucina gourmet, bagni rinnovati, modanature originali, pavimenti in legno e molti dettagli d'epoca. Ben arredato e decorato. Ottimo flusso per famiglia, amici e relax sotto il portico. Bellissimo fiore di confine e roseti racchiusi da una staccionata. Da uno a cinque minuti a piedi da eccellenti ristoranti, mercati e negozi e dal Rowayton Arts Centre nel villaggio di Rowayton. Breve, cinque minuti a piedi dal Wee Burn Beach Club e dalla Roton Point Association e Bayley Beach. Pinkney Park, The Nature Preserve e la biblioteca di Rowayton si trovano nelle vicinanze.

Vieni a trovare la famiglia e gli amici nel Connecticut a Darien, New Canaan, Stamford, Westport, Norwalk, incluso Rowayton.

Fuggi dalla città per una settimana o un lungo weekend!

Sappiamo che gli autori Crockett Johnson e Ruth Krauss vissero in questa casa dal 1945 al 1973, dove scrissero i libri "Harold and the Purple Crayon" e "The Carrot Seed". Hanno fatto da mentori e hanno spesso ospitato a casa il loro amico Maurice Sendak, autore di "Where the Wild Things Are".

Venerdì scorso ho trascorso il pomeriggio a casa di Crockett Johnson - 74 Rowayton Avenue (Rowayton, Connecticut), dove lui e Ruth Krauss hanno vissuto dal 1945 al 1973. Sebbene avessi scritto la loro biografia e avessi visto (e fotografato) la casa dall'esterno, non ero mai stato dentro. Ho visto tutte le loro case dall'esterno, ma - esitante a intromettersi nella privacy dei residenti - in realtà non sono state nelle case stesse. Da quando ero in città per tenere un discorso quella sera, Gil e Kim Kernan (gli attuali proprietari) mi hanno gentilmente invitato a passare un po 'di tempo a casa loro. La mia visita è stata uno degli eventi più felici causati dalla mia biografia di Johnson-Krauss.

A Perfect Weekend!

We had such a wonderful time at this home for a girls reunion weekend. The house is in a perfect location and the owners were wonderful! Meeting us upon arrival and making us feel right at home. There are many things about this home that make it so special. Thanks again!

Charming, comfortable and lovely kitchen

The host couple went out of their way to be welcoming and provided lots of detailed information about the house and Rowayton area. They placed fresh flowers in most every room from their garden. Although it was out of their control, the new house construction across the street was noisy from early morning until early evening. But the new house should be fully enclosed soon and not a distraction. Wonderful hosts and great house.

Fantastic!

We rented for three nights while visiting for a family wedding. The house is located in a lovely seaside village within walking distance to everything. The place is charming, the house adorable and immaculate, beds were very comfortable, and it had everything we needed. One of the nicest vacation stays we have ever had. All the local information was provided in a notebook, as well as fascinating house history. The owner checked in by text several times and was very helpful. In all, a wonderful time. Thank you, Gil and Kim!

Everything was so smooth with booking, arrival and checking in to the property thanks to the owner who was extremely responsive and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay in their home. The house a wonderful place to gather with family and sitting on the porch and playing in their beautiful yard wit the kids made for many lasting memories. We can't wait to go back!

Rowayton Beach Home

Amazing house the owner went all out to make sure we had waters, coffee, everything we needed. The owners treated us like family. We were visiting the Connecticut coast for the first time and it was beautiful. Everything within walking distance, beautiful beach, kayaking, SUP’s great dinning. Sunset cruises available close by, breathtaking views. Lots of room in the house and it was decorated perfectly for a beach home, the quintessential New England beach home. We would love to stay her again. Perfect place to do the city and beach all in one weekend. Incredible!

A Rowayton Classic!

This home is centrally located, has a beautiful, big yard, and is incredibly livable. It was perfect for our family visiting from out of town to really feel the magic of what it's like to live in a quintessential seaside village!

Wonderful stay!

My family really enjoyed the home. It is convenient to town, there is a lot of history with the house, and it had the perfect amount of space. The owners were also very helpful and checked in to make sure everything was going well. Thank you for letting us stay in your home!

A great place to spend the weekend

We booked fairly last minute and we're so glad we did. Gil made us feel incredibly welcome, including our dog with a supply of tennis balls. The house is beautiful and comfortable and you feel at home immediately. We spent the weekend enjoying the what the small town has to offer and much of that was done from the wrap around covered porch, just watching the world go by. We would love to go back.

Amazing property and the owner's are great!

We spent a week at the house with our two kids and my mom. What an amazing house with an amazing location. This is the perfect house for a family getaway. The house is gorgeous, bed's are super comfortable and the owner could not be nicer. Everything you need food wise is just a short walk away and there is a small grocery store down the street for essentials. For more in depth shopping the local larger grocery store is maybe a 5-10 minute drive. Absolutely love this property!

nice house in a good location!

i rented this home for a weekend family reunion. there was plenty of room for our group of 7. good restaurants are nearby with takeout food available. the beach is within walking distance. the owner was easy to deal with. i will most likely rent this place again.

This past Friday, I spent the afternoon at Crockett Johnson’s house — 74 Rowayton Avenue (Rowayton, Connecticut), where he and Ruth Krauss lived from 1945 to 1973. Though I wrote their biography and had seen (and photographed) the house from the outside, I’d never been inside. I’ve seen all of their homes from the outside, but — hesitant to intrude on residents’ privacy — not actually been into the homes themselves. Since I was in town to give a talk that evening, Gil and Kim Kernan (the current owners) kindly invited me to spend some time in their home. My visit was one of the happiest events occasioned by my Johnson-Krauss biography.
