Privacy, privacy, privacy! Elk Point è il paradiso degli escursionisti. In cima alle Smoky Mountains sopra Maggie Valley, Carolina del Nord, questa favolosa casa di tronchi autentica si trova a poco meno di un miglio dal Parco Nazionale di Cataloochee Valley. La casa vacanze prende il nome dalla zona del parco nazionale dove gli alci sono stati reintrodotti nella Carolina del Nord. Il branco prospera e può essere visto nei pomeriggi nel parco, pascolando i campi che un tempo sostenevano gli abitanti originari della zona. Elk Point confina con il sentiero Cataloochee ed è la stazione base perfetta per le escursioni nel parco. Elk Point è una casa di tronchi spaziosa su 10 acri privati. Dispone di tre ampie camere da letto: una al piano superiore con un letto king size e 2 al piano principale con un letto queen-size in ciascuna. Un soppalco con un altro letto matrimoniale e due letti singoli / estraibili si affacciano sul camino in pietra nella grande sala. Goditi le splendide viste sulle circostanti Montagne Fumose. 10 minuti dal Parco Cataloochee. 20 minuti a Maggie Valley. 25 minuti a Waynesville, NC. 35 minuti al casinò di Harrah, gioco d'azzardo Cherokee. 45 minuti da Asheville, NC, sede della Biltmore House. Wonderful visit in this charming home. Easy access to Cataloochee Valley and remarkable sunrises. Kitchen was fully stocked for at home dining. Beds were comfortable and the outdoor areas (grill, hot tub, porch relaxing) were comfortable and enjoyable.

The positives:Space was nice and clean, lots of kitchen supplies and extra pillows/blankets for comfort. Great views through the mountains, lots of indoor space to spread out for the family. Lots of little towns to explore around the area. Quiet and peaceful. Cute wildflowers growing around the walk up and length of rocking chairs to sit and enjoy the view in the front porch. The negatives:The drive up the mountain was a bit more than expected. They do not supply paper products or extra trash bags, which I did not see written anywhere to be able to prepare for it. You get a starter role of TP and one trash bag and then you need to provide the rest yourself plus paper towels so if you are staying more than a night you’ll need to know. Cleanup help was extensive and there are extra fees if you don’t want to take the trash away yourself. You’re literally at the top of the mtn and the trash dumps are 20 min down the road(it’s a mountain thing) but there are extra fees(5/bag) for that if you don’t want to take it. Overall a nice stay, always prefer to know more before showing up so I can prepare.

Our trash policy is included in the listing description as well as the rental agreement each guest reviews and signs, and our pre-arrival tenant letter outlines the starter supply of paper and soap products provided at the home. Because our mountain homes are individually owned vacation rentals rather than hotels, we provide starter supplies and ask guests to plan for additional items they may need during longer stays. We do encourage guests to review the listing, rental agreement, and pre-arrival information so they know what to expect before their stay. We appreciate you choosing to stay with us and are happy to hear that overall you enjoyed your time in the mountains!

Amazing Mountain Rental

My wife and I love the outdoors and wanted a place to stay when visiting the Smokey Mountains National Parks and this was an awesome place! Not only does it have quick access to the Catalochee Valley but also was secluded and had ample privacy. It also had an amazing, beautiful, and picturesque sunrise view from the porch and bedroom. We will definitely be renting here again in future visits!

Secluded and peaceful

The cabin is well furnished and we loved being so secluded. An evening walk down and back up the driveway was great exercise, for us and the dog!

Excellent mountain getaway

What a weekend and what a stay! This mountain top cabin was just the destination we needed this Labor Day weekend. Perfect views, comfortable living spaces and a nice fire pit and hot tub to relax in after daily outtings. All around lovely.

Wonderful Visit

This is a great property that made for a very comfortable stay. Everything was as described, and communications were easy. This is a fairly technology free location (no wifi, poor cell reception, old TV), but that's what we were looking for, so this fit the bill perfectly!

Amazing view

Had a nice time in the cabin. The walk way up to the cabin is pretty tough especially unloading and toting everything up and back down. Besides that we had a great time and the best view in any cabin we have ever rented!

Thanksgiving 2022

First time ever going on vacation during Thanksgiving. I took all the food to cook there. Kitchen was perfect size. Family enjoyed the house. They all said it was perfect. The house is exactly as described. Views are amazing!!!

Great weekend spot!

The cabin was super clean, had some puzzles and toys, and even a treasure trove of 90’s movies that we broke into on a rainy day. The cabin and view are nice enough that it is pleasant to stay at the property for a few days without any real plans. Walks with young kids do need to be well supervised because your on the side of a mountain, but that was half the fun. The kitchen was fully equipped and we had everything we needed for our family!

Elk Point Beauty

This home has amazing views from the porch. We enjoyed many hours just swinging and enjoying the natural beauty of the mountains. It is also incredibly near Cataloochee valley for elk and bear sitings and hiking. The road to the driveway and the driveway itself are a bit stressful but after a few times you get used to hairpin turns and watching out for oncoming traffic. Overall would incredibly recommend!

cabin in the woods

the view was amazing the cabin was clean and big lots of beds and room to hang out bathrooms were great size and worked well. the only part that was rough was as you see the pictures the walk up to the cabin looks somewhat flat it is not it is a steep hill you have to climb to go up. as long as you don't take your elderly mother it is so worth every dime to stay!!!!! loved it Phillips family

Fun in the mountains

We loved that the property was very private and secluded, however the road to the property and the driveway made things interesting! The property looked exactly as it did online and was very clean. There were 8 of us that stayed there and I loved the fact that the table sat 8 so we could all eat together, not a lot of other properties had a big enough table. It was big enough that everyone could spread out and have their own space when they needed some down time. We loved the weather there as it was over 100 heat index back home that week :)

The grill could use a cleaning. The upstairs stays warm. It is hard to make the whole place the same temp. Very loud but its a cabin!! Lots of positives but you know them!

Outstanding!

If you want to go to the mountains and sit in a rocking chair on the front porch and see the beauty God created, this is the place! The cabin is fully updated with what you need. We loved the charcoal grill and hot tub too! We'd like to come back next year. a week earlier! Remember this place is on a mountain and there are no straight roads going up a mountain, so be prepared. We had no problem! Memories forever!

Almost heaven

There was 7 of us, tons of room! Ages 6 to 85. Although the path to the house from the parking is a tad steep and uneven my dad went slow and made it. So keep in mind if your bringing older people who are wobbly. But the view is undescribable Its so beautiful. Rocking swinging and relaxing in hot tub. Loved it!
