Il Natchez Trace Parkway è un drive 444 miglia attraverso paesaggi eccezionali e 10.000 anni di storia del Nord America. Oggi, i visitatori possono godere di strade panoramiche, trekking, ciclismo, motociclismo, kayak, canoa e campeggio. Nel mese di ottobre, il Parco Nazionale ospita il festival annuale di Oktober Fest. Negli ultimi anni belli e alla moda cantine vicine forniscono la zona con esperienze meravigliosa sala di degustazione, luoghi di nozze destinazione così come molte attività ludiche e di intrattenimento fine settimana. Prendere in un tour della distilleria Jack Daniels situato ad un'ora e mezza di distanza a Lynchburg. La zona circostante offre molte piccole città pittoresche. Nella vicina città di Lawrenceburg vi è una fiorente comunità Amish che offrono i loro mestieri, produrre e conserve. Il fiume Tennessee offre un numero illimitato di nautica e la pesca possibilità e si trova a un'ora di distanza. Questo è veramente un rifugio appartato per chi vuole staccare, ma non troppo lontano dalla bellissima e storica città di Franklin, che è a circa un'ora di distanza. Perfetto per una passeggiata divertente da o verso Nashville, Memphis e Birmingham. Tutti a 2 ore di distanza.

Our host was the reason I would rebook. She was very responsive and helped us work through a few issues we experienced. The space was comfortable and peaceful and so close to the Natchez trace and other local interests. Would love to return soon and stay again.

Beautiful cabin, very secluded and peaceful. Enough room to gather or separate, comfortable beds and furniture. Had everything we needed for a great stay. The 3 year old and the 62 year old in our group couldn’t maneuver the path to the creek but the others enjoyed it. The decks provided a nice view of nature and sunrise.

Easy access. Nice accommodations. Quiet and peaceful location. My suggestion would be to invest in some nicer/newer towels. Garbage in lower floor bathroom had not been emptied

Wonderful visit

The house was very nice and just as advertised. It is close to the Meriwether Lewis Burial site and the trails in the National Park. It was raining when we visited, so we did not get to enjoy the deck. Our dogs loved being able to walk down to the river behind the house. It was not comfortable walking up and down the street because the neighbors have their dogs out and we were not sure if they were friendly. The dogs did not bother us at the house or down by the river. Owner was very excellent with communication and would highly recommend.

The host was welcoming and responded well to my questions and concerns.The place was a little run down and was over an hour to Franklin, so I wouldn't advertise it as "near Franklin."The oven did not work properly. It was set to Celsius, not Farenheit, which we had to figure out on our own because there was no notice anywhere near the oven. Fortunately, my son figured it out or it would have ruined a huge breakfast casserole we had just made.The TV did not work with the WiFi. We had to hook it up to our computer to watch a movie. The place was covered in ladybugs. We had to sweep them all up as soon as we arrived. The home was very rustic and had a weird layout that is not pictured. The main floor was upstairs. The fire pit was broken and there wasn't really a place to set it up. No dishwasher. We made it work so it didn't ruin our time there. It was just shocking when we first pulled up and saw the outside. But the view was nice and it was nice sitting on the porch at night. There wasn't really a place upstairs for us all to sit except on the outside porch.

Cozy and Quiet but Misleading

The cottage is well appointed with decent furnishing. The upper deck is a great place to sit and enjoy and cup of coffee or glass of wine. It was very peaceful in the country and I slept very well. The communication with the host was very good. For history buffs the Meriwether Lewis State Park is close by and is on the Natchez Trace. I also recommend eating at the Lewis and Clark restaurant in Hohenwald. Get the full rack of ribs! It can feed a family of four. No kidding.Misleading....I specifically searched for a home with a hot tub due to injuries from military service. It's the only thing that helps with pain management as I do not take pills. However, this cottage didn't have a hot tub even though it's listed twice in the description. Not even a jetted tub in the bathrooms. There were also no pictures of the front of the cottage. Although I do not believe it was bad I believe all properties should provide a picture of the front of the unit.These issues are the purpose of my overall rating and may not be important to other guests. PLEASE note that the owner and property get a 5 for everything except the accuracy of the listing.

Definitely needs a post update on pictures. It wasn’t a horrible stay but it was an okay stay. Reached out to host about some issues we had - first off it is way colder downstairs than upstairs - air was set to 70 and it was freezing when we got in. We didn’t really tour it much but did walk upstairs and look. The back sliding door doesn’t lock but has a lock bar that still lets the door open up enough for someone to slide through into the house. I would recommend fixing that for guest. Closet is crammed with stuff couldn’t hang anything - Then there were no towels presented all only under the counter. When I got out of the shower I grabbed a towel on the chair in the bed room not folder but somewhat - to realize it was USED from the previous tenants - they smelled awful and were damp and dirty. Thankfully there were clean towels under sink. No towels upstairs either - the rug in bathroom was dirty with hair all over the floor and shower. Dirty sink Shower head was broke but we fixed. Stove top has some type of cleaner still on it - no paper towels - sink top dirty - it’s just wasn’t clean. Fire pit is broke with left over used wood no new wood. Outside furniture was dirty and table couldn’t sit at it. Handprints all over the glass I would get a real cleaner in there honestly to recommend a stay. After the dirty towels and not being cleaned I questioned the bed and everything else. I felt dirty and paid almost 800 for 3 nights that we only slept at was a bit motel 6 for me.

Some disappointing things

The location was very quiet and rural which was the only good thing. Did not know until we got there that living area and kitchen were on two different floors and stairs are narrow and steps are different heights. It was only after renting that we found out depending on time of year there can be a problem with insects which would have made a huge difference as to whether we would have risked renting. Communication with owner was another disappointment. We will not be returning. I would not consider location near anything but Hohenwald and Merriweather Lewis' burial site.

Comfortable Country

The property was perfect for our weekend event. We had a cookout on the deck with family and friends… was nice with the shaded deck. Hot time of the year and the AC was incredible! The place was clean and all amenities were as advertised and worked as listed. Highly recommend staying at this house, we hope to return some day. Thank you! Larry Johnson

The property is very pretty and the surrounding area too. The home was clean. But we did have a bit of a glitch checking in but that was resolved. The main issues we had that there was zero communication from the host. I had written a few emails before the out trip and tried to call also no response. We had hoped to use the fireplace but when my husband read me the number I said no don’t start it, it’s the same number I have that I have tried with no luck. The other issue we had (and can happen) is that the drain pipe on the left hand side of the sink was completely detached and the water and soap were going over the pots and pans but again I knew we were not going to get any help from the Host. Lucky we the help of my husband he was able to “fix” it the best he could with no tools. We won’t stay here again for several reasons but the home was clean, the house is decorated nicely and if your into lots of history this spot is very good. Just keep in mind there is NO reception. We worked around it but if you have younger children or teens this might be an issue.

I’m surprised you weren’t able to reach me, can you please tell me the issue you had to come in, because it is a lock combination, Usually on days I have guests arriving from 3.pm ob I check phone to make sure I do not miss a guest’s phone call, I’m so sorry for your inconvenience in not able to reach me, I will check on the issues of the drain pipes, as no one else not even my caretaker has mentioned it, thank you, Alva S. ps: sent handyman to have a look at the rain pipes issues, to have it fixed.

Family Christmas Visit

The high points of our stay were visits to Meriwether Lewis Historic site and short hike to the Buffalo River. We had to be creative with the seating for our 6 family members, but it all worked well.

Disappointed in location and cabin features

Care taker and owner were very nice, however it takes the min of 1 hr to travel for food, 1.5 hr min to do any activities outside of hiking. Distillery 2.5+ hrs away and very limited access to internet and no mobile phone services. Cannot reset the internet or cable as it is glued to the furniture. Fireplace does not work well and caused so much smoke in the cabin it caused sore throats. The deck is falling apart and not safe to walk on. No Tv in master and living room tv has limited channels (mostly home shopping) and parental code placed on most channels and no code provided. The BIGGEST issue is the cabin is it is in another time zone that was NOT communicated. We received solicitation calls to the home the moment we entered and were called promptly at 11 am EST with an 11 AM check out time and the cabin was Central time so it was only 10 am when called. We were not able to check into the cabin until nearly 4pm EST, 3pm Central time. The AC leaked and no firewood was provided, only old previously burned wood. The stairs within the cabin were very slippery and when grabbing the hand rail, it moved. Fruit from neighbor's tree fell on my car and over the sidewalk. Trash from previous attendant filled the outside trash leaving barely any room for our trash so we had to keep everything inside until we left out of bear of bears or other animals. Upon leaving, I was asked to text a phone number to advise I had left, and the number was not working. No numbers were left to contact the home owner outside of that number. Very disappointed in what we received for the money spent.

False advertising. No A/C

Over 500 dollars for 2 nights, and the A/C didn’t work the entire time. It never got below 85 during the day and 80 at night. If this tenant doesn’t do something to reconcile this (full refund), then we will never be staying there again. I’ve already contacted her to find some sort of reconciliation, but she isn’t hearing what I’m saying. I have screen shots of the entire conversation that will show you how oblivious she seems to be to the needs of those who rent her home through Vrbo. The screenshots show that she was aware of the issue and that she didn’t have it fixed or even contact us to let us know it was a problem. I wish there was an option to add pictures in this so those who are reading this can see the conversation and make an educated decision.

Canoe trip on the Buffalo River

The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a charcoal grill on the deck. Even though it was a good 30 minute drive to the Crazy Horse, it was worth it to stay at such a nice place.

We are from South Florida, and always wanted to enjoy the changes in seasons,My parents built this house in 1992, and my kids grew enjoying hiking, fishing and many a paint ball games were played at big family vacations along the river bank. This cottage is full of wonderful family gatherings and memories.

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

they had a second home in the Smokies prior, but wanted a very secluded setting and land space, They loved the Tennessee scenery and started looking until they found this wonderful town, that offered seclusion feel when wanted and beautiful quaint town with small shops, restaurants and wonderful friendly neighbours. Through the years this wonderful spot of Tennessee has become a very special place we hold dear, and we come to enjoy the peace and quiet and most certainly to add to our memory making of our family. I have lived in South Florida most of my life, but this wonderful place is home also, and as of yet I haven't had a moment where as I leave I'm already looking forward to my return.

Cosa rende unica questa struttura

I especially love the tree house feeling we get out on the deck, and the quietness of not hearing or even seeing an airplane, the whole area from the moment we turn on to the winding road and most often encounter deer grazing at side of road add to that beautiful clearings and wooded terrain. in the evenings the spectacular velvety dark sky showing a three dimensional show of sparkling stars is a sight to behold!, the fact we are secluded, yet close enough to metropolitan Franklin and Nashville make it perfect to make a day of outing to shopping and nightlife. although the majority of our time we do come is to enjoy the local sightseeings and our wonderful deck!
