Great experience for my wife and myself along with our 2 teenagers. We brought our boat and went fishing and beached it several days. Hosts are amazing and lightning-fast responsive with wonderful recomendations that made our 20th anniversary a trip for the record books!

Rebecca and Andy were the best hosts ever!! They greeted us at the dock and carried all of our belongings in for us. They gave us a tour of everything to do (beach, kayaking etc). The house was beautiful and clean. It was probably the most relaxing vacation i ever had..

LGI Vacation

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Boat House. The house had everything that we needed, and the host was so thoughtful and very informative. The fishing off of the dock was phenomenal. The short trek to the beach was easy and the water was absolutely beautiful.

Home Away from Home

We have been coming to stay at the Boathouse for a number of years now and each time our love and appreciation for this place grows. Rebecca and Andy are wonderful people and incredible hosts with a meticulously maintained property. This has become our families secret spot!

Perfect

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rebecca and Andy were incredibly accommodating and wonderful. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and clean, with a great view of the bay and wildlife. Multiple types of kayaks were available, including tandem, sit in and sit on.The walk to the beach is just a couple minutes, chairs and umbrellas are provided.I highly recommend the boathouse and would stay again.

Fishing & Boating Heaven

We had a fantastic time on LGI. The house is right on the bay and no long dock to get to your boat was great! The owners welcomed us and helped us with our gear as they gave us a tour of the property. This location is very quiet and perfect for families. I especially loved the coffee bar every morning...nice touch! we will definitely return!

Peace and Quite

Our time on LGI was absolutely perfect. Watching the never-ending wildlife, swimming in the most beautiful blue water, and taking daily naps is exactly what our family needed. Thank you Andy for a week to remember!!!

Always the best

Best place to stay on LGI. Very private, beautiful landscaping. House is very clean and has everything you need. 2nd time in this house and 3rd time with the host. Couldnt ask for more, privacy, scenery, comfort. It's like having your own private retreat. Will be back!

Relaxing and Beautiful

This is our third time staying here! We got married here and we already booked our fourth time. We own a business so we really feel like it’s the perfect getaway for us. The place is beautiful and clean. The water is all around us. We love kayaking on the bayside and enjoy the lovely minute walk over the lagoon to the beach. It feels very private, but the owners are responsive and kind. We love it!

Majestic Getaway

My husband and I have been coming once a year for the last 7 years. We own a business and it’s our favorite place to decompress.The beauty and serenity of the island, boathouse, and incredible views of the bay and beach is hard to find anywhere else.The Boathouse is lovely, clean, and the screened in porch is the best!I can’t recommend this place enough.On top of that you have the loveliest hosts, Rebecca and Andy who will bend over backwards to make your stay unforgettable.We have already booked for 2026.See you next year Rebecca and Andy!

Perfect beach getaway

If your idea of a perfect getaway is watching birds fly and wade, dolphins swimming past your dock on the bay, or walking as far as you'd like on an uncrowded shell-littered beach, this is the place! Oh yes, and then returning from your explorations to a comfortable and clean cottage, to rest and recharge. Easily accessed by water taxi from a marina on the "mainland". The southern part of Little Gasparilla Island appears to have a lot of cottages, houses, and condos, but this property is adjacent to State Park land and allows the feeling of being on your own private island.

Paradise found😍

We (2 couples) were thrilled to find this little gem of an island and this beautiful property to stay at. The beach was spectacular, with beautiful sunsets and the bay in front of the cottage provided lovely daily sunrises, as well as awesome scenery. The “boathouse” itself was perfect. So tastefully decorated, comfortable and well appointed inside and out. The Kayaks provided, beach chairs and beautiful patio furniture, (inside the screened in porch)and outside on the private deck, also provided all of the outdoor amenities needed. We hope to definitely return to this beautiful spot😍

Lovely home but property still recovering from hurricane

Absolutely lovely home with spotlessly clean inside and stunning interior design. Screened porch and outdoor spaces very dirty and outdoor pillows were moldy, walk to the beach was challenging with downed branches-- all due to the hurricane. If all was cleaned up and back to the original state, we'd be back for sure. Beach beautiful, kayaking (with dolphins) fantastic!

We are so glad that you enjoyed the beauty of the island and the Boat House! Yes, the near category 5 hurricane took some time to clean up after - many people on the island will be cleaning up for years, and we are so blessed that our property only had minor damage. I’m sorry that our caretaker who was here did not know that the porch was dirty as you report - he could have easily stopped by and cleaned it and brought new cushions while you were here. Anyway, everything is clean and beautiful again - including all porches, furniture, etc. And all boardwalks have been cleared. Thanks for staying with us! (And for those who have been with us in the past and reading this post - the upside of the storm is that the bay views from the Boat House and Bay Houses are greatly expanded due to vegetation loss. And you can now see the beach from the upstairs of the Bay House, as well as expanded bay views and even the ICW! Sadly, the Beach House remains out of commission while undergoing storm damage repairs.)

10 days in Paradise

I think this was our 5th time on this beautiful Island but their beautiful resort like compound is so peaceful we can’t think of another place to go. Of course the Boat House is impeccably clean and nicely decorated. Nothing better than reading a book in the screened in porch watching the boats and kayaks go by. If you have any concerns, Rebecca and Andy get back immediately. They are very respectful, sweet, and kind.

Best Vacation

I’ve been going to a beach for 43 years. This was my favorite in the US. Hands down. To say we relaxed and decompressed at the boat house is an understatement. Everything was exactly as they said. A week full of clear water, fresh fruit, manatees, sea turtles, all types of fish, a chartered fly fishing trip, dolphins, shells, shark teeth, and my three favorite people…. I will be back! It was painful to leave. I could live there forever!!!

Boat House

The Boat house was great and was as described in the VRBO details. It was just my husband & myself. The weather was great for the beach which was why we booked this for our Anniversary. A couple details could have made this stay a little better. Such as letting us know to put our food into air tight plastic containers. There was an ant issue and we lost a good amount of our food we had on the counter , even though it was wrapped up. We do realize with all the sand around ants are probably around but a heads up might have been nice. Also the true distance to the beach. We are in fairly good shape for our ages, but doing that trek 2-3 times a day with the heat and lugging heavy chairs and a canopy... The canopy was in terrible shape, one leg so rusted it looked as if it was going to break in two. We would have brought our own light weight chairs at least! Back to the house, The bedroom did not have window coverings, nor did any room in the whole home. I get that its a vacation home but the boat house is front and center to where people walk up from Dock#2 or clean fish at the cleaning station or get a cart from out front where they are standing. One of the biggest draws for this faction for us was it was a barrier Island, you could only get to it by water taxi.... All in all it was an ok time , we will probably rent on the Gulf side bedtime as that is where we spent the majority of our time.

We’re so sorry! Had we known about any of the issues we would have fixed them that very day. We’ve never heard of ants in our home, and the cleaning crew did not see any ants and I went in today and did not see any but treated for them anyway. We would have been happy to treat for them the day you saw them had we known. As for the canopies - we have five, so I so wish we would have known that one had broken, as we would have provided a different one. We have carts to push items to the beach down our boardwalk (that stretches from the house to the beach), so I’m sorry you chose not to use them. Additionally, there are chairs stored behind the dunes on the beach so I’m not understanding why you needed to carry items “2-3 times” per day back and forth to the house. This is a bayside house - not a beachside house, and that is clearly shown in the online photos. Our dock is private with only one other house (that we also own) sharing it - the vast majority of other docks on LGI are shared by multiple homes. If the other family was using that fish cleaning station then they were using the wrong one. I’m sorry we didn’t know so we could remind them to use a different one. Thanks for staying with us - I’m sorry your stay wasn’t perfect. All LGI homeowners appreciate guests telling us if there are issues so we can fix them right away. Wherever you stay next time, please let the owner know so the problems can be addressed that very day. We can’t fix what we don’t know about.
