This is a traditional building in central Lisbon, and, as the guest correctly noted, the original wooden floors can occasionally make some noise due to the age and construction of the building. However, the situation described is not something that has previously been reported by our guests, and we had no indication that the new neighbours would react in this way. We fully understand that being disturbed by repeated knocking from downstairs would be uncomfortable, and we regret that you felt unable to enjoy your stay. We also want to clarify that we responded as soon as we became aware of the seriousness of the situation and communicated with the neighbours in an attempt to address it. We have hosted guests successfully in this property for many years, and we are currently looking into possible measures to reduce the transmission of sound from the floor. We are sorry that this particular situation affected your holiday and that you decided to leave after the first night. We sincerely wish you had been able to enjoy the property and Lisbon as planned.

Berenice, thank you for recognizing the high standers of the hygiene of my apartment, it's comfortable bed and quality bedding, it's shower with good water pressure, that the air conditioning is a plus, and that washer/dryer is quite useful and that works well. All this with fantastic views and at a very central location, just 5 minutes walk from 2 metro stations in the heart of the historic area, and 7 minutes from Avenida da Liberdade, where you can find all kinds of luxury brands. The advertisement is clear about its location in the historic area of Lisbon where most of the buildings do not have an elevator, where the stairs are narrow (especially by North American standards), and the hills are steep. I regret that we were not clear enough to inform you that guests should not put anything in the toilet, except for toilet paper. I was disappointed with your rating which will negatively affect my listing and which was largely due to your perception of the surrounding areas, which curiously, are appreciated by other guests for being so genuine.

Thank you David for being so careful with the apartment, and for that lunch (super big lunch) at Zé da Mouraria 2. Next time I will take you to a winery at 30 minutes from Lisbon and a handcrafted pottery factory, right next to where I live. Come back soon.

Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié le confort du logement et la superbe vue sur le quartier de Garcia. Concernant l’accès, nous précisons effectivement qu’il y a une montée et des marches, mais nous comprenons que cela puisse représenter une contrainte pour certaines personnes.
