This is a clear case of someone that doesn’t read the rules of our property and house before booking, and has a very negative mindset. We texted the guests 2 times before driving up to the property as a courtesy. We keep a small camper up on the property during the summer months in a discreet location at a good distance from the cabin(also mentioned in profile). We don't live there, but we use it as an office and for storage. The guest (Lisa) didn’t mention that her husband (Steve) drove his truck from the cabin towards where we were with the camper at a scary speed and stopped really close to us and aggressively asked: "Didn’t we rent this property?" We answered that they rented the house and not the full 100 acres of land. Even though we were upset by his rude behavior, we kept calm and were able to explain the rules of our property and de-escalate the situation. Our 90 grandfather was with us at the time, and the guest's behavior made us feel extremely uncomfortable on our own land. When we talked to Steve (the husband), we kindly asked if we could move a few items into the basement, and he agreed and said it wasn't a problem. The guest (Lisa) texted us the next morning notifying us that they had already left the property, and left no chance for a dialogue. Our profile clearly states that guests are renting the cabin and a generous front and backyard around it. Renting our cabin does not mean you are exclusively renting 100 acres of land —although that can be discussed. Guests are lucky enough to have the full property to themselves most of the time, even though they aren't paying for this. 99% of our guests rave about the views and the peace and quiet of being in the mountains surrounded by meadows, trees, views, deer, and wild turkeys. We really appreciate our guests who come to enjoy the nature, and are able to appreciate the magic that our mountaintop house provides. Guests usually check in on their own, but we waited for the guests arrive in order to show them around. In the meantime, we were doing some additional maintenance to make sure everything in the cabin was perfect and we finished 15 minutes after they arrived. We hope the guest enjoyed the smores kit we bought and left as a gift for them and their kids. We do not have A/C, and this is listed in our profile. We have a house on a mountaintop that gets lots of fresh breeze, and we intentionally decided not to have AC to keep it natural. We do appreciate feedback, and we took care of 2 tiny dime-sized wasp nests immediately. Thanks for bringing that to our attention, although we would have loved to take care of that during your stay if you had sent us a text or message! Moral of the story...it's unfortunate that some people can't relax and enjoy nature when they are surrounded by it.
