Hosts Karen (via phone) and Gary (onsite) reached out to check in and make sure we were good. Karen very prompt with all communication from the beginning. We were comfortable in this cozy place and felt relaxed and cared for. Recommend.

This is an adorable little cottage overlooking the great salt pond with its own little private pond, outback that gives you stunning views no matter which window you look out of. It’s located far enough out of town that you feel like you’re in another world but close enough that you can walk in if you choose to. The peace and tranquility is immeasurable. And there’s a bonus across the street of two little mini donkeys that I highly recommend going and saying hello to because they love attention! I will come back as many times as they will allow me. It has been an absolute pleasure.

Everything was great - right down to the chickens in the yard and the apple trees. The only thing that would keep me from coming back is the bed situation. The bedroom was downstairs and the bathroom was up a flight of steps. I get up 3 times and didn't want to chance going up the steps three times while sleepy. We chose to sleep on the pullout couch near the bathroom and it was anything but comfortable. Everything else was great!

The listing was not worth the money. Spiders in the bedroom, mouse traps through out the cottage. The bedroom was an actual basement not a room. The upstairs is extremely small for two people. Also said hot water on demand , waited and never went above luke warm. We had to leave after one night and find other accommodation.

Thank you for your review. We take all feedback seriously, and we are continuously looking for ways to improve our rentals. We have many pictures posted that accurately depict our listing and the size of the cottage. The bedroom of this cottage is downstairs, but there are four windows two of which are full-size bedroom windows. It might have appeared to be rodent traps, but these were actually cricket traps. Additionally, we have a cleaning company that comes in before each rental. We regret that you decided to leave early and that we were not given the chance to discuss the matter and resolve these issues.

Block island was great. Owner communication was helpful, especially about reserving car ferry early. This was the only place we have stayed where we had to rent sheets and towels.

Great location on Block.

We enjoyed our stay at the Foc'sle. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a great location. It had been about 39 years since I was last on Block Island. It was a great stay!

The cottage is located in a fantastic location. We enjoyed being near a pond and even took a few casts. The host was super nice and kept in touch frequently, sharing all the important details before the trip. Bringing our car was a must since it's a bit tucked away from the main part of town, but honestly, I really liked that. We had a great stay and would definitely come back!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful time at Karen’s cottage. The location was great and the grounds were peaceful. It was a perfect place for my husband, young daughter and I for a long weekend. We hope to come back again soon.

Great location. Close to restaurants and water sports. Beautiful deck. Would be a bit tight if the weather wasn’t good, but we had a perfect summer stay!

Wonderful getaway

My wife and I had a great stay with our baby at Karen and Glenn’s adorable cottage. Such a relaxing and magical setting in a quiet and peaceful part of Block Island but still walking distance from New Harbor. We loved being right next to the pond and our baby enjoyed lying on a blanket in front of it watching the little turtles swim around.

Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway

Great little cottage with views of the pond and ocean from the deck. 10 minute bike ride to great beaches, restaurants and the center of town. Very simple, but has everything you need for a cozy stay.

Lovely little place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Foc'sle cottage. It's well equipped, we found everything we needed in the kitchen. The cottage is optimally positioned on the property as well as perfectly located on the island. Not too far from town.
