Charming Cabin con camino in pietra a legna, angolo cottura con forno a microonde, mini-frigo, lavello, armadi ben forniti, bagno con doccia, un letto Queen, TV via cavo, servizio di cella AT & T in loco, Wi-Fi, zone soggiorno e pranzo . Originariamente costruito come studio di uno scrittore, la cabina si trova in un frutteto di mele, separato dalla casa principale su tre acri di proprietà. A piedi bella Silver Lake State Park per la spiaggia, picnic, nuoto, kayak, pesca, pedalò, canoa, trekking sulle miglia di sentieri o per Barnard Village, una città quintessenza Vermont proprio sul lago. Visitate il Barnard General Store dove 'se non ce l'hanno, non è necessario che'! Una varietà di ristoranti, gallerie, mercati e negozi di agricoltori della zona. Questo è fuga completo dal mondo, rilassante, tranquilla ma a breve distanza a tutte le attrazioni a Woodstock, Killington, Waitsfield, Montpelier o anche Stowe e Burlington. Barnard è uno speciale villaggio di montagna con panorami a nord e ad ovest e vicino al famoso Route 100, a seguito della colonna vertebrale delle Green Mountains.

Fantastic stay for a couple. Cabin is immaculate, great location in Barnard, just a few minutes to Silver Lake, General Store, or Woodstock. The owner is super nice and helpful. We would return in a heartbeat.

Perfect VT getaway

Doreen's cabin is picture perfect. Our stay was very comfortable and Doreen was very accommodating. We enjoyed the close proximity to Silver Lake and the General Store. We would definitely book again!

Special Cabin at Silver Lake

This is a special spot: well appointed and equipped, private and quiet while close enough to easily tour larger towns such as Woodstock. Doreen greeted me, provided a very helpful overview and suggestions; her hospitality was exceptional.

Quaint cottage

We had a lovely stay at the cottage…clean, well appointed, quaint and cozy… great fireplace to relax in front of at night. Perfect size for one person or a couple.

Gorgeous cabin, gracious host!

We loved our stay in Barnard. Doreen was so kind and helpful in getting us set up when we arrived, then gave us our space. We loved the beautiful cabin, the surrounding wildlife, and the town, and we took advantage of the quaint (and well-stocked) general store and its fabulous bulletin board. We can’t wait to stay again!

A cozy getaway!

A Thing of Beauty

The owner exudes a genuine warm welcome and the place is uniquely Vermont. Our Sunday to Monday stay was perfect with awesome weather and just one day of heavy rain.

Relaxing

Wonderful atmosphere. Quiet, Comfortable, Cozy. The stone fireplace surrounded by knotty pine boards. Beautiful clear sky at night with the Milky Way arching overhead. The leaves of the apple trees falling in the light breeze. A very peaceful setting.

Perfect trip

We had a fantastic trip last weekend to Vermont. Doreen greeted us as soon as we arrived and showed us around the cabin. It looks exactly as it does in the photos. It was a clear night and we sat out and watched the stars and I finally got to see the Milky Way. The cabin location is fantastic. Close to everything but feels like you are tucked away in the woods. Easy driving to Norwich to go to King Arthur, hiking at Queechee State park and visiting Woodstock. It was our first trip to Vermont but certainly not our last.

Wedding weekend

I booked this property for myself for the day’s leading up to my wedding and for my husband and I the night after until our honeymoon. Doreen is a wonderful hostess and pays great attention to detail. She was extremely kind, warm and welcoming. If we have the opportunity to come back to the area- we will definitely want to stay there. The cottage is cozy and perfect for a couple. The fireplace in October is amazing! Very highly recommend this property and hostess!

Peaceful setting

Keep in mind you are on the owner's property, but they are very good about keeping to themselves and giving you your space. The owners are wonderful to talk to, so we didn't mind it so much. We enjoyed our stay at this cozy little cabin. It's very clean, peaceful, and inviting. The indoor space is small, but functional. The outdoor area is lovely, but not overly private. The firepit is great and stars are amazing at night. Not a deal breaker, but there was no sink in the bathroom (used the kitchen sink) or microwave in the kitchen. The cabin is within a short drive to quaint towns, dining, and activities. The in-town general store was walkable and came in handy. Overall wonderful stay!

Amazing Escape from the City!

Gorgeous cabin out in the woods in Vermont but not too far from some great hikes and cute small towns. Doreen is an excellent host. The cabin is well cared for and has great wifi. The stars are an amazing sight on a clear night!

My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay.. This cabin was everything we wanted and more. The owner Doreen was so kind and helpful. She thought of everything. If you are looking for a quiet cabin in the woods, this is it.

A Magical Place

I can't say enough about staying at this magical little cabin. It was perfect, starting with my personal greeting and tour by Doreen, who was as friendly and welcoming as she could be. The cabin is just the way it looks online- so charming and clean with everything that you could possibly need during your stay. Doreen even had a basket of treats that came in handy for those late at night cravings. The bed was super comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets for cozying up by the fire. The view out of the windows, the apple tree and two green adirondack chairs, was a wonderful sight each morning for sitting and having a first cup of coffee. Also the coffee at the Woodstock Market was the best- it is their special brand! One more thing- I grabbed a sandwich at the Cafe in Bethel each day since my workshop was in that area. Haven't had a better sandwich! Can't wait to come back and stay in the red cabin! Thank you Doreen for everything-

Peaceful getaway

I stayed here for a couple of days after a business trip up in Burlington. I used it as a base for hiking, biking, and kayaking in nearby Silver Lake. The small space is very efficiently and comfortably arranged. Doreen was a great host and gave me good recommendations for places to go, and even loaned her kayak to me! I also enjoyed the outside sitting area at night, the stars were incredible.

Charming cabin

Located walking distance from the Barnard general store (great breakfasts, lunches and ice cream) and Silver Lake (wonderful swimming) this cosy cabin is perfect for 2! All of the amenities in a small but well designed space, and with beautiful outside sitting. Doreen is the perfect hostess - easily accessible but never interfering. We’ll come back!

Idyllic !

Doreen is an excellent host, warm and welcoming with a beautiful cabin full of special touches. Clean, comfortable, and cozy. The fireplace is awesome on a rainy day and the property is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay and hope to be able to return!

Beautiful Barnard Retreat

Doreen was perfect host, helpful and generous. Cabin is lovely and perfect for 1 person or a couple. Very close to Barnard town center and a short drive to Bethel or Woodstock. The cabin is quiet and ideal. Highly recommended !!!

Lovely cabin in a peaceful location

I was looking for a comfortable place to stay while taking a course in nearby White River Junction. This cabin was cozy and peaceful, a perfect place to return to after studying hard during the day, and, had I not been learning all day, I would have loved to have spent some time at Silver Lake, which is close by, or gone tubing in the White River. The cabin itself was neat and clean, and the host was easy to communicate with during booking, check-in, and check-out, and the cabin was thoughtfully stocked with some snacks and bottled water when I arrived! I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet getaway, close to the beauty of nature, with beautiful stars at night, good sleeping, and cheery birdsong to wake you in the morning!

This cozy cabin was created as a refuge for a writer and journalist in the 1920s. Enjoy the sound of the two brooks that converge within your sight, or snuggle up with a good book (or your partner!) in front of the huge stone fireplace inside or the Solo fire pit on your private terrace. We have plenty of apple wood to burn from our orchard!
