The property was perfect for 4 adults and 2 children under 5 in early September. Smores and hot dogs by the outside campfire, playing on the sandy shore on warm days, plenty of room on the first floor to play with toy cars and dolls. The house is close to woods where we walked, Camden's coffee shops and Rockport's playgrounds. The sunsets and loons were spectacular.

Great week in Maine

Big, well-equipped, comfortable lake house. Great views, nice lawn and big dock. Perfect for watersports, BBQs, even rainy days, and close to Camden.

What a week!

This was such a wonderful idyllic week in Maine. The house had everything we needed, plus beautiful sunsets, proximity to town, and wonderful hosts. We’ll definitely be back!

Perfect stay!

The cottage was everything I’d hoped for and more! Located on a beautiful spot on the lake, equipped with everything we could possibly need, impeccably clean and wonderfully decorated. It’s very convenient to Camden, but far enough out to feel peaceful and remote when you’re down by the lake. We had a tremendous week!

A little piece of heaven

We loved this house and our very friendly and responsive host. Being Right on such a beautiful, clean, and scenic lake was so relaxing and wonderful. My family was comfortable, and would love to return to this special place!

Wonderful stay on the lake!

We had an amazing time at this amazing property! The host thought of everything and the property was well stocked and maintained. The layout was perfect for our extended family. The location on the lake was great and we spent a portion of each day in and on the water. Our day trip to Acadia was breeze. This property has everything we needed and more and the host was wonderful to work with!

Great Lake House

The house was right on the lake. Came with 3 kayaks which we used a lot. Extremely well stocked kitchen. Perfect house for our week stay.

Wonderful Stay

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The views of the lake were great. We enjoyed swimming in the lake and also the hiking trails which offered additional spectacular views of the lake and its surroundings. The house is well appointed and it is located close to the towns of Camden, Lincolnville, Rockport and Rockland where we enjoyed the restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this beautiful lake house.

Perfect Lake Living

Great Lake front spot, we made frequent use of the kayaks, dock and swimming platform. Amazing sunsets sitting at the fire pit (lots of kindling & wood provided). The kitchen is well equipped - we had a lobster boil (big pots, large plates & crackers ). The individual room AC controls was a big plus. The home was very clean and well equipped including lake towels. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

Beautiful! Awesome house, perfect location!

We loved our stay! House came well-equipped and clean. Right on the water - we went out on the kayaks and fishing off the dock most days. Great shopping in Camden, saw a movie in Thomaston. All sheets and bath/beach towels were provided. Thanks so much for sharing your house!

Magnificent!

This was our second stay at this wonderful home and it was magnificent! It is close to Camden, as well as several other towns offering easy opportunities for sightseeing. This property offered kayaks for fun excursions around the beautiful lake islands and a firepit for delicious s'mores! The sunsets were breathtaking and the early morning quiet and beauty of the lake while sitting on the dock are not to be forgotten.

Wonderful stay!

We stayed here for 4 nights on a senior girls trip (5 graduates, 3 moms). The house is perfectly equipped with plenty of cooking tools, towels, blankets, lots of seating and room for sleeping. Special touches were an area binder with lots of suggestions for area activities and some eateries, and a basket with s’more goods for roasting. One note for bird watchers: the road behind the house is a bit loud for Merlin. We absolutely loved our stay and appreciate all the excellent communication and hospitality!

Perfect house for a family vacation

This is the second time we stay at Shelby’s Lake House. We love it! The house has enough space to accommodate everyone’s needs. The back deck is our favorite place to hang out and share meals when the weather is nice. Lake Megunticook is a great lake - super clean and not too busy. This is our all-time favorite rental property. Thank you for sharing it with us, Shelby!

Magical Get-Away

The house has beautiful views of Lake Megunicook. The house also comes with three kayaks to use and we did. The kitchen is well stocked and the house was very clean. The owner/manger was great to work with and very responsive. Highly recommend this house!! Thank you for allowing us to rent your property.

Amazing stay in Lincolnville!

We had a wonderful stay at this house in Lincolnville! The house is beautifully appointed, cozy, and in the most picturesque setting, right on Lake Megunticook. I could sit out on the deck and look at the lake all day. We swam and kayaked off the dock, made s’mores over the fire pit, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house is a quick five minute drive into Camden and an easy drive to Rockland and Belfast. The house was stocked with every amenity, even board games for the one rainy day! Shelby was very helpful and answered all of our questions. What a perfect stay in Maine!

This House is Awesome!

This was our second stay at this wonderful lake house, and it was just as good the second time. It's great to be right on the water, as it provides a constant source of entertainment for everyone, but especially the kids. We are a large group with six kids, and there was always someone swimming, kayaking, or just sitting on the dock. The house has an open floor plan with lots of light and great views. So it's easy for people to spread out and be relaxed. It's close to Camden and Mount Battie; there's fishing, hiking, sailing - what more could you ask for?

Another great week in Maine!

We had a great time during our stay. The location is a double-edged sword. It was nice being close to all that the mid-coast has to offer, but the house is on a very busy road. We got used to the road noise quickly but it is loud when you are lounging outside. The house was well equipped for all our needs with plenty of things to do. The gas fireplace inside was a favorite as we had a few days of Maine weather--we also made good use of the outside fire pit. Overall, great experience.

Glad you enjoyed your time at the Lakehouse. While the house is right off Camden Road/Route 52, a busy road in Lincolnville, Maine is not the same as a busy road in other parts of the country. The house is pretty shielded from the road and luckily all of the views and activities are on the lake side of the property so we have never found the road noise to be a problem - maybe it's the music we are playing? LOL Happy the Maine fall weather allowed you to make use of the firepit and fireplace! That's the time of year I miss the most there!

Family of six, four adults with two preteens. WONDERFUL time! First week of August 2026.PROS: Wonderful location!!! Places to stretch out and relax everywhere inside and out. Nap, read a book, lots of seating inside and outdoors, whatever. Spacious. Kitchen had everything and nice appliances. Washer and dryer awesome and used daily!Dock access very handy, especially the ladder. Swimming and kayaking every day, all day. Beautiful weather, hot and tolerable humidity. Lake life is good!!! So much habitat - saw eagles, turtles, dragon flies everywhere, geese, ducks, fish. We never used bug spray. Listening to the loons! Sunsets!LOBSTER? Go to M AND L LOBSTER down the road. This couple sells from their place and the best. Steamed them up for us and we made our own lobster rolls!! Delicious!!! Bought clams too.Do not go to Youngs Lobster Pound. Horrible, skimpy lobsters, over priced, and the chowder so bad we tossed it.CONS: master slider was broken so missed having a lake breeze into the room. Contacted owner who was quick to reply that they recently were made aware. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.The house felt clean and fresh, however, spiders (a just hatched cluster) and cobwebs were in and around the windows in the bedrooms, particularly in the downstairs king room. We vacuumed ourselves, problem solved, so we didn't tell the owner.Overall, wonderful and would stay again.

Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed all the wonderful amenities the lakehouse and location have to offer. Sorry about the slider - as I said, in the 12 years we've owned and rented it we have never even tried to open it during our time there and have never been told by renters it wasn't opening. We did find the handle on the outside broken off, but it will be fixed during the offseason. As for the spiders, I mentioned it to our cleaning lady for the future, but those little buggers can spin a web quick!
