Everything was super clean and organized. Had everything we could ever need and more. Everything for the beach/snorkeling. Umbrella for when it was raining so we could go to the zoo. Just in between the city and the national park. She was very helpful and sweet. Loved my stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this cute little home! Karla welcomed us when we arrived and walked us through the home, giving us tips and instructions to make our stay great. She thoughtfully provided some basics for our stay. She was always very responsive with communication. We appreciated the use of the on-site washer and dryer. Several evenings, we enjoyed eating our dinner on the screened-in lanai. Such a great space! We loved the remote location, although the neighbor's dogs and chickens were a little loud at times (earplugs recommended). The shower is an on-demand system, and the temperature fluctuated between warm and cold (we showered nightly for 5 nights and never quite figured out how to have a consistently warm shower). Overall, it was such a great home base for our Hilo adventures! We loved being located between Volcano and Hilo as we explored the entire east side of the island.

Karla provided everything we could have asked for and more during our stay. She personally greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour and answered all the frequently asked questions about the place. She was always available if we needed anything, but she anticipated those needs so well that we didn't need to ask! The guest house was stocked with amenities (like coffee and butter and cream) and a thoughtfully-written, extremely helpful guest guide. It was such a cozy, secluded spot--tucked away from the road a bit but still only a short drive from stores and sites all over the east side of the island. We would head out in the morning for various hikes and beach activities, and it was a welcoming home away from home to come back to when it was time to rest. Especially loved all the windows to have a constant cross breeze and to look at all the beautiful plants outside. We would be happy to be able to stay here again in the future.

This is the second time we stayed at this property. Karla is a wonderful and responsive host. Eating breakfast on the lanai was a great way to start the day. The property is the perfect size a for a couple. The kitchen has everything you need. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else on the Hilo side of the island.

Welcoming host, great location for a lot of exploring, well appointed with great kitchen set up and beach gear. We loved hanging out on the lanai listening to the rain!

Karla provided everything that we would need during our stay. It was so quiet and peaceful and felt just like home. The room was very clean and we were also given a nice walk through upon arrival. We will definitely be booking again and would highly recommend.

This place was very comfortable and private. Everything was perfect. stayed there during the hurricane and felt very safe there. We would stay there again if available.

My wife and I stayed there for 11 nights and loved this place. Karla was a great host, very responsive, attentive to details, and quick in communication. The house had everything we needed, and even more - from full kitchen, extra pillows and blankets, to beach chairs and a cooler, snorkeling gear, and even yoga mats! The place is exceptionally clean and cozy, secluded and peaceful, and... what else would you need for a perfect vacation?! Thank you, Karla, for a great place to stay!

Had a great stay here, perfect size for my wife and I, clean place, host was great. Liked the layout, having everything combined in one room, except the bathroom. Kitchen had everything we needed. There was a lot of extra food and kitchen supplies left there from previous guests that we were able to use as well. The roosters crowed most of the night, but we were warned about that, and as long as we had a fan going the noise didn’t bother. It was a great value for the money, for a place to stay in Hawai’i, I did a lot of researching before choosing this place. Highly recommend

Amazing place!

This place is a great stay that is also very affordable. It was a great location for our adventures all across the island. Karla was very helpful in showing us around and making us feel right at home. It is such a cozy and beautiful place! We would absolutely love to come back some day!

Great location and property

Karla was a great host. She met us when we arrived and showed is around. The studio was the perfect place to help us relax and unwind. We really enjoyed eating on the lanai. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect for us

We have nearby family so the location was perfect. Karla keeps everything just right. Beautiful surroundings and everything we needed for a nice beach day. Highly recommend!

Very nice little spot

Wonderful little spot. Awesome porch and hammock. Comfy bed, clean kitchen, great shower. Karla was very nice and easy to communicate with.

Great base of operations

Cute property just right for the 2 of us. We were on the Hilo side to explore east and south of the big island and this place was a great base. Clean and serene with a great lanai. Mahalo

Perfect stay for Bi Island visit

This was our second stay in Karlas cottage. Wonderful little spot with an awesome porch and everything what you need for good time. Karla is a fantastic host, very thoughtful. We would highly recommend this place and we will return for sure. All the best for Karla.
