Diana, I am surprised to hear of your immense disappointment considering you never once asked for any compensation or to cancel during your 2.5 months in residence. I was on the property the very next day after you asked about the construction next door, shortly after you checked in. You never mentioned you were bothered by the noise. I gathered all the information available to me and responded to you promptly. Your response was "thank you" and "we appreciate you checking on this for us”. You never mentioned it again until after check out and were requesting a $2,000 refund. The owner offered you a discount toward a future stay which you declined. There were several guests who stayed prior to you during the work next door and not one mentioned any issue with noise. The construction was not on this property. I was not aware of anything that I needed to notify you about. I believe your 2 stars is not a fair assessment of the property or my performance. I believe you also shouldn't be telling others that it will probably be going on for a year unless you have facts. Unfortunately, this comes across as a cheap shot at discrediting the owner. Seasonal travelers have many options on our beautiful island and owners such as this one take great pride in offering their personal properties for rent for others to enjoy.
