Energia solare per ricaricare telefoni cellulari, personal computer. Letti queen size e full size, 3 lettini disponibili. Molti degli arredi e degli arredi originali in questa casa di 100 anni. Sedersi nella veranda protetta e ascoltare il calesse del ghiacciaio.

Guidare attraverso Chitina su 60 miglia di strada sterrata, parcheggiare sul ponte pedonale alla fine della strada. We loved our stay at you cabin. The view from the hillside is amazing! Cabin is convenient to hike Rock Glacier and take the Copper Mill tour both were worth while. The fact that the cabin has only one light on a battery was no big deal as it stays light out to late night. The cabin was all we could want and more.

Great to be back. What a great way to enjoy this special part of Alaska - by staying in a historic cottage associated with the mine. Beauty all around with tons to do each day. Great hosts and beautiful location.

Perfect place to stay.

This is a beautiful cabin on the hill in Kennicott. It has two bedrooms upstairs and you can ask for cots. There is running water and a flush toilet. The cabin is close to the start of many trails.

Once a life time experience

Fully furnished historical cottage allows you to enjoy the best of Kennicott. Located in the middle of the mill, close to all the trailheads. Beautiful view, quiet neighborhood. Wonderful stay to explore Wrangell St Elias by air and by foot. Great hospitality by hosts.

Family reunion in Kennicott 31 years later

Best stocked kitchen and bathroom. We slept comfortably and peacefully. The cottage was comfortable and we really enjoyed the quality TV and movies. Thank you for anticipating our full enjoyment of your sweet cottage.

Great spot

It was fun to stay at one of the very few spots in this historic city. Mine tour was cool. Walking on the glacier was cool. Lots to explore. This was a great house for our family of 5. I really appreciate these rare properties that have great history and in beautiful places - this is one of them.

Sweet cottage in a sweet location

What a special place! Everything was perfect, from the booking with Kathleen, to coordinate shuttle rides with Diane and Hannah, to the cabin, to the location and views. The cottage was clean, comfortable, cozy and well stocked. We loved the screened in front porch and having the extra outhouse made it more comfortable for the four of us. We can not wait to come back!!

Spectacular!

We LOVED our stay at Kennicott Copper Cottage. We felt very taken care of by Kathy and Steve with clear communication and everything we could possibly need at the cottage. We were suprised by how good the internet was and we were even able to stream the Olympics! Perfect location and fantastic tours with Kennicott Wilderness Guides. We appreciate the warm hospitality. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great place at the "End of the Road"

So happy we were able to arrange our stay here. Kathy was so easy to work with making our trip possible. Onsite Steve was completely helpful and knew all there was to know about the cottage and the area. Cottage itself was well maintained and comfortable even with six adults. Screen porch came in handy when the bugs were looking to bite. Cottage was well supplied and the kitchen has plenty of items that had been missed on our shopping list. Cottage was a oasis at the end of our long hiking days. I couldn't be more pleased with this rental and would gladly stay here again. Thanks Kathy!

Great location as long as you can walk up and down hill easily.

It wasn't very clear from the description how far the cottage was from the Main Street in Kennicott. For the majority of us it wasn't an issue, but one of our group was unable to manage the walk to and from the cottage. This was tricky to navigate since you can't get your own vehicle in kennicott and the shuttles don't usually go up that far.

Our Stay in Kennicott

Our stay was wonderful! The cottage was a perfect choice for the six of us. We had 3 adults and 3 children 15, 12 and 8. Stephen the caretaker was very informative and helpful and was just a short walk away if we needed him. We went on the tour of the mine and enjoyed the many trails. Kathy had everything we could possibly need at the cottage. We enjoyed the history of the cottage as well as the DVD about the mine. The cottage has so much history and loved how so much has been preserved. It felt like we stepped back in time. The only thing we wished for was that we had stayed longer! We definitely would recommend staying at the cottage. Just remember to bring good hiking shoes! We walked over 30,000 steps in one day exploring and enjoyed a shuttle ride to McCarthy.

This was a very unique cottage in Kennecott. It was super clean and we had everything we needed! Steve was there to pick us up at the foot bridge and to transport us back to the foot bridge on our last day. It’s was about a half mile walk up hill to the cottage from the Kennecott Mill area. Shuttles between Kennecott and McCarthy were very reliable. It was a very cool area to stay while exploring the mill, Root Glacier, and McCarthy!

It was a great place to spend two nights. 6 of us, 3 generations, us as grandparents, our kids and grandkids throughly enjoyed it. It’s a little hike up the hill from the town level but good prep for the glacier hike and mill tour. It’s off the grid but accounted for and offset by generous provisions. There’s lots to see and places to stay in Alaska but if Kennecott’s a part of your trip, this is the place to stay.

I have lived in Alaska over 30 years and this property still surprised me with how great it was. The location, history, and property itself are incredible and I cannot recommend this property enough. My family of four stayed here with ease and after staying at other properties in the area in previous years, we will consider this location above all others first moving forward. This property is: clean, off the beaten path, extremely quiet, and offers an extremely quick walk through the woods down to the tours and lodge for dining. The home has everything you forgot, so relax if you forgot an item or ten because they already thought of it and it's stocked in the home. Reservations were extremely easy and I would like to thank Kathy again for her help last year and Steve was great to talk to on the ride up and back down the hill, thank you both again and I wish you the best and continued success.

Wow!

Great views, great location (be prepared to walk UP to the cabin from Kennecott). We saw auroras right over the house and loved the walk (across the waterfall) to the mine and town. The shuttle service is very efficient from McCarthy and Kennecott.

Great house

This house is great. It is old and historic. Steve picked us up from the footbridge and brought us all the way up to the house. Great service. The house has everything even wifi. We did not expect that. Kennecott is a historic town next to the glacier. We went glacier walking, flightseeing, kayaking and on the mill tour

I live and work full time in Anchorage, AK, moving here in 1998. My first trip to Kennecott was in 1999 and immediately fell in love with the astounding beauty. It just captures you; amazes you. After realizing I was going there several times every summer, I decided to become a part of the community. When I am there, I can be recognized by the greyhounds that are always at my side!

This property on Silk Stocking Row is the "Rodeo Drive" of Kennecott. The best place to be, the ONLY place to be. Near all the hiking trails to the mill, mines and glaciers. Historic town, and yet quiet on the road.

Cosa rende unica questa struttura

Screened in front porch is a huge plus! You can sit on the porch in the warm sun, watch the birds and listen to the glacier creaking and calving. The historic home has ALL the amenities including a FLUSH TOILET! Now that is a treat!
