Rifugio perfetto da questo mondo frenetico. 1850 casa tranquilla su 5 acri con vista sull'oceano e un fienile.
Ti piacciono i cappuccino? ... Green Tree Coffee Roasters, presente sul NY Times, è dall'altra parte della strada. Nulla può essere paragonato a svegliarsi sottovento in una giornata di torrefazione. La panetteria Dots e la paninoteca gourmet sono un paio di porte in fondo - perfette per un pranzo al sacco, una colazione a base di quiche o un vino perfetto. Scendi lungo la proprietà con accesso alle scale verso l'oceano (0. 5 m) e poi cammina lungo la spiaggia rocciosa fino a Lincolnville Beach - la mia preferita dai miei bambini. O semplicemente rilassati sulle sedie Adirondack e guarda le barche. A pochi passi dal traghetto Islesboro - fai una gita di un giorno in questa bellissima isola.

La cucina ha una grande vetrata e un posto vicino al finestrino che è perfetto per rilassarsi. Per chi ama cucinare, la cucina è dotata di una stufa a gas professionale con doppio forno.

Abbiamo rinnovato un po 'quest'anno. Il sistema di filtraggio dell'acqua è stato aggiornato e abbiamo rimosso il vecchio pavimento della cucina in linoleum bianco e rivelato i pavimenti in legno originali, cosa che volevo fare da un po '! All'esterno abbiamo introdotto nuovi gradini e alcune altre correzioni alla struttura. Abbiamo anche fatto alcuni drastici tagli agli alberi per recuperare la nostra vista, che puoi vedere solo nella foto invernale finora.

C'è una sala da pranzo e soggiorno e la biblioteca, che ha un letto matrimoniale. Il bagno al piano di sotto ha una doccia. Il piano superiore presenta bellissime tavole di pino da 12 ". Il piano superiore ha due camere da letto e un bagno completo con vasca. In totale, tre camere da letto, due bagni e un nuovo divano letto matrimoniale nel soggiorno.

Il nostro fienile ha ancora il suo fascino rustico e la sua storia unica. Jane Wazey, un precedente proprietario ha usato il fienile come suo studio d'arte e ha scolpito la statua di Andre the Seal. La statua si trova a Rockport Harbour. Se non hai familiarità con la storia di Andre the Seal, viveva con una famiglia locale e sarebbe tornato ogni anno. Vale la pena leggere il libro o guardare il film prima di venire a visitare, soprattutto se hai bambini piccoli.

Great family vacation

We had an excellent summer stay at Foxtrot! The kitchen was well furnished, the house was super clean, and there was plenty of room to spread out. The central location on the mid-coast of Maine made for some great day trips to Acadia National Park and Boothbay Botanical Gardens as well as dinner in Camden and Belfast. I would stay again if back in the area.

We had a great stay at this unique property. The walk to the bluff every morning and evening was part of the charm. There is AC in the kitchen which was very nice. The house is rustic but that's also part of the charm and is accurately represented in the description. The location is wonderful. Vivienne was very responsive and helpful. I would stay here again!

Located within walking distance to two beaches

We enjoyed the location and the land surrounding the property, with immediate access to a rocky beach, and a short 3-5 min walk to the sandy Lincolnville Beach. Coffee is just across the street at Green Tree and groceries are next door at Dot's. The house itself is best for families who enjoy a more rustic stay.

Great location

My family had so much fun in Maine. The house is in a great location. Walking distance to Lincolnville beach, great coffee shop next door, great market next door, close to Camden hills, we hiked Mount Megunticook, shopped in Camden, took the Ferry to Isleboro and spent the day. So much to do in the area. Vivienne was very responsive, friendly and easy to deal with.

My family had a great time at this old farmhouse. The kitchen could use more utensils and plates. The upstairs could use a good dusting. The bathrooms were not the greatest but we knew it was an older home. Very quiet and peaceful

This property needs the following: new sheets and bedding more furniture and chairs better outside furniture they need to remove "Art Studio" from the listing as there is only a dusty old barn room with no windows or doors that open and no tables or anything that resembles an art studio. more windows and doors that open (most do not) Other than that it is fine if you want a rustic experience. the location is good and quiet. it is private and spacious and good parking

In response to your review, I am sorry that there were some things that were not as you expected. I wish that you had asked me about some of these issues while you were there as I could have helped. All four sets of sliding doors in the barn do open but perhaps more instruction was necessary to find the locks. I did remove the description of "Art studio" as you suggested because I can see how there might be different expectations of this. In the past our guests have been happy to have the easel and granite table in there. Our barn has the history of being the art studio of the artist who created the famous Andre the Seal sculpture in Rockport Harbor, so that is why I called it an art studio. As far as the sheets are concerned, I buy new ones each season so I am not sure why you felt they were older. And we provide 8 chairs since the house accommodates eight people. Thank you for your feedback. I am always looking to add to the house. Vivienne

Great stay and great host!

I loved this property. The house was basic but comfortable and very conveniently located near the best coffee shop ever (Green Tree) and the best sandwich shop (Dot's) and Lincolnville Beach (all three walkable). The kitchen is well-stocked. But the real pleasure is waking up in the morning and sipping your coffee in the window seat and taking in the start of the day. We enjoyed a morning walk with out pup down to the ocean on the very "front forty" and some meditative time by the sea. No swimming there, but definitely time to enjoy the view. Thank you, Vivienne, for the lovely stay and the great open communication.

short walk to the ocean sunrise

We loved the layout of the house, it had more space than what the pictures show. The kitchen had most things you would need to cook with. The daily walks to the ocean were great, my husband saw sunrise 4 out of the 7 mornings. Nice backyard for the young children to play in and close to several restaurants. It had a very homey feel to it. There were a few times which the water pressure was low, but usually recover quickly. This never causes a problem. My three year old grandson loved the house and wants us to return.

Our stay was very comfortable. Some areas of the home are updated and others more rustic but our stay was very pleasant. The kitchen has all the things you need to cook family dinners and is air-conditioned in case you have hot weather. The back yard extends a long way to the beach and was perfect for our grandsons to run about, kick their soccer ball and explore the rocky shoreline. Excellent for a family stay. The proximity of Dot's grocery for fresh baked pastries and the wonderful Green Tree Coffee shop across the street for delicious coffee very much added to our enjoyment. Lincolnville is quiet and a respite from very busy but fun Camden. Camden Hills State Park was nearby and the hiking there was wonderful.

This house is in the perfect location- easy access to water/ hiking / midcoast towns next door to a delish maine market and coffee roaster… the house itself is a charming old farm house that has all the basic stuff. If you are looking for high end - this isn’t your place. For us, we loved the comfy, lived in beach house vibe. My kids (8 and 5 ) loved all the games provided. The property has a rambling lawn down to the sea. The beach is rocky but you can walk along it- or drive - to a nice swim spot. The only con is we couldn’t stay longer. Plan to return!!!

Perfect getaway!

Beautiful property with rolling field down to the waterfront. Charming old Maine farmhouse was warm and comfortable, provided everything we needed for a wonderful family gathering. Outside space for eating, star gazing and fire ring was perfect. A great location to explore Camden, Belfast and all the surrounding areas. It was a perfect place for us!

Great family vacation!

Understand what you’re renting if you stay here: this is a farmhouse built in 1860. It’s been maintained, but if you’re looking for fancy, luxurious lodging, look elsewhere. If however, you want a clean, spacious house that can comfortably accommodate 7-8 people of varying ages, with a well-stocked kitchen, and ocean beach access, this is a great place to stay. Yes, you’ll probably encounter a few bugs and the shower/washer are a little temperamental, and there’s no AC, but our family (grandparents, brother and his girlfriend, and our young kids) all had a really nice stay. The one major issue that we encountered was the battery on the code-lock died and we were locked out, but we managed to put my 7 year old through a window and get in. Other than that, everything was as expected and we felt like this was a good value.

Lincolnville Stay

This home has all the charm of a older farm house. We spent most of our time at the waterfront in the backyard. If you are looking for luxury this is not your place. It’s minimally furnished and but does have a comfortable bed. Having the coffee shop and Dots next door made our trip even better!

Great location but house was dirty and uncomfortable.

Great location, easy to get to all local activities. LOVED Dots and Green Tree Coffee right next store. The walk to the ocean on the property is lovely. However, the house itself was a mess and we didn't stay our entire week because we were so uncomfortable. We walked in the door to a house FULL of black flies. The surfaces were dirty and dusty. There was only one roll of toilet paper. After our 8 hour drive we turned right around to go the store to buy cleaning supplies, a fly swatter, and paper products. Unhappy about paying a cleaning fee when we did all the cleaning. Towels and bedding were stained. We all chose to wear our flip flops when showering because the bathrooms felt so grimy. Terrible water pressure, couldn't rinse the shampoo out of my hair. There's only one couch in the house which means no comfortable seating if there's more than 2 people. Bare bones and old farmhouse charm are fine. Dirty and uncomfortable for this price is not fine.

Beautiful property and location; house needs work

We loved the location and long meadow to beautiful rocky beach. The grounds and landscaping are lovely. The picture window in the kitchen and architecture and charming and fully of character. We expected and enjoy an old house but found its overall condition (windows, water, appliances, beds) and the furnishings worse than expected and felt the description was a bit misleading compared to reality. It’s also quite close to Rte 1 and therefore loud.

Our stay at “Fox Trot”

The house is somewhat run down, though also old and charming. It seems like the owners have taken a minimal approach to repairing and repainting. I was disappointed in the lack of comfortable seating and the broken furniture. Also, the water pressure in the house is not adequate. There were stains on some of the bed linens. I would describe the house as adequate, but certainly not luxurious. More could be done to add to the experience of staying there. It is in a great location and has a beautiful property associated with it.

We had a wonderful time, lovely and quaint setting in super convenient mid-coast location. Property owner was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation.

Small town Maine.

House is 170 years old. It did not have good air circulation to get cool. We knew it did not have AC. It served its purpose for this trip. We got what we expected.

Perfect location

A great family get away! The old farm house helped us remember the simpler times. Plenty of space, great location, ocean views, conveniently located across the street from Green Tree Coffee and two doors down from Dots - a wonderful gourmet food store. We sailed, hiked Acadia, shopped in Camden, hiked Mt Battie, and ate amazing food at Natalies and Franny’s! All in all an amazing week for all. Including our dog!

Rustic house, nice location

This is a large old farmhouse in a very cute beach town. The house is very rustic-- all of the window screens are old and torn, allowing for a lot of bugs inside the house. The bathroom plumbing is problematic: the toilet struggles to flush and you can't use the sink upstairs if the washing machine or dishwasher is running. Although there is a downstairs bedroom, I would not recommend this house for older people with mobility issues, as the downstairs bathroom is small and hard to maneuver. There is a lovely meadow walk down to a rock beach area, and you are within walking distance to the town of Lincolnville and its beach.

Charming home in Maine

Charming house and property! We loved everything about it. We saw a fox, chipmunks and deer in the field. We walked down to the water everyday and the kids loved playing on the rocks. The location is great, not far from Camden and other great spots but far enough away to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of this property.

Ocean is lovely house is underwhelming

Walk to the ocean is greater than 1000 steps (according to my fit bit). The kids loved looking for tiny crabs and finding shells. Recommendations that homeowner left for local stores and restaurants were spot on. I had to wash 50% of the dishes that we used during the stay because they were visibly soiled. The house states that it sleeps 8 which it could, however traveling as a family of 7 it is hard to manage showers in this home. One can not run the shower and well, quite frankly anything else in the house at the same time. As my husband put it, flush the toilet and the shower slows to drops. Homeowner acknowledge the "whole house filter" slows water in the binder on the counter of the home but not in the posting. The bottom line the home is old and charming in many ways. The plethora of books, board games and ocean view, however we chose to leave a day early to get to a hotel with a good shower.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback on the house. My response is overdue but the plumbing issue was resolved. It is great to have such a good water filter but it did have an out-take issue that I didn't know the extent of until after you left. I'm sorry if this affected your stay. I hope that you and your family have a good new year.
