The house was in a great location up a hill with trees surrounding it, a great view, and the river near by. I didn’t like the dirt road with potholes driving up to the house but there probably isn’t much the home owner can do about it. The hot tub was great, and the deck space with the grill. We cooked every night and there was a few spices already there, good pots/ pans, coffee, coffee pot, little creamers.However, couldn’t find any pot holders. I wished there were some good coffee mugs too- but only little 4 oz glasses.Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

Honestly everything was great except for the 0 communication from the host … that seemed was very disconcerting to me prior to our arrival. But everything was smooth once we got there.

Great location to Yosemite for easy short drive/access. Comfortable spacious accommodations. Clean and easy check in and check out. Worked great for our family of 4 plus grandparents along to visit Yosemite.

Yosemite Retreat

This cabin was perfect for our needs. Very clean, well furnished, convenient to the park and (especially important this week), the air conditioning worked very well. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

We enjoyed our stay at this location. It exceeded our expectations. Absolutely great location. Fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to cook here. House was clean and spacious. Would stay here again!

Great place to stay. I thought it was in a neighborhood, but it is actually on the side of the mountain. It had a great view from the deck and a gas grill. the hot tub was very welcome after hiking Half Dome. If I had a suggestion or two, it would be to improve the Wi-Fi strength and the beds were not super comfortable. But overall, it was a great stay.

Beautiful property

This home is beautiful and actually more spacious than the pictures indicate. It was clean and had everything we needed but it’s best quality was its proximity to Yosemite. It’s just 10 minutes from the entrance and made it a breeze to get in and out of the park.

Excellent location relevant to Yosemite

You won't find a better location to stay within 30 minutes of Yosemite. Full house, hot tub, and privacy. A perfect retreat after a long day of hiking. 10/10 would stay again

We had a great day in your beautiful cabin in El Porto just above a fun campground and close to a cute resort. We found the property clean well supplied and it meant our needs to be close to Yosemite! Thanks again.

Fabulous location!

Need a comfortable place to stay after a full day in Yosemite? This place is for you since it's so close to the park entrance! Just make sure you pick up some groceries on your way in and have fun!

Terrific

This place is out of the way and when you pull up you wonder if you’ve made a mistake. But when you get inside and you’ll be very pleased by what you find. We enjoyed our stay very much. The appliances were new and it was well stocked with everything you will need.

Close to yosemite village

Hites hideaway is a great place to stay with lots of nice features! Great master bedroom, deck is a wonderful place to hang out and it’s very private. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, coffee and plenty of cooking utensils. We would definitely recommend it!!

Relaxing get away

We loved staying here. It was perfect for our group! The deck was amazing and the grill out there. We spent every evening out there and the mosquitoes weren't even bad. The hot tub was a bonus! It's very quiet and secluded which we loved. It is also easy to get to Yosemite. Make sure you bring towels for the pool and hot tub.

We gathered here with family and friends from Switzerland. We knew we had made the right choice when they commented that this was a "perfect" place to stay... close to Yosemite Valley and the many trailheads/ hikes that started there, and all the conveniences of home. Perfect week.

Perfect retreat outside Yosemite

What a beautiful house up on the hill above the Merced River. This was the perfect retreat after a few days in the backcountry. It was very close to the main entrance of the park and gave us quick access to the Valley. Everything was clean and ready for our stay. Our friends were saying how they'd like to come back because it's the perfect house in the perfect location.

Great Family home

Not much to look at from the outside and up a very steep road, but inside was a fully stocked house with all the fixings. Beds were comfortable, house was very clean and air conditioning worked, which was needed since it was 103 outside. Not sure we would want to walk back from the swimming pool down the hill, due to how steep the dirt road is, but great to have the pool available. We would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful house

We really enjoyed our stay at Hite's Hideaway. The house was spacious, comfortable and very well appointed. The kitchen had everything necessary for cooking meals. We even used the barbeque. The backyard was great for spotting birds (California quail, woodpeckers and jays). It had convenient access to the west Yosemite entrance. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Yosemite Hideaway

This property is accessed by pulling through a campground area and older maps may not show that the location is accessible, but we had no real problem finding it. The road is somewhat steep and might be a challenge for small cars if snow or inclement weather was in effect. There is a steep set of stairs to the front and side doors. The home is spacious and well appointed, having been added on to. Access to Yosemite is ready to hand and this location is a great base from which to explore. We enjoyed our stay.

Hites hideout

Our grandkids loved the game room and the big bathtub! This was a clean and comfortable home for ourselves, kids and grandkids to stay at while visiting Yosemite. The steep dirt road to access the house can be a bit challenging but it’s not a long way to go. We all enjoyed it and it is only about 7 miles to the Yosemite park boundary.

Great Home!

This house was amazing. We were disappointed when we couldn't get rooms at Yosemite. That all changed once we got to the house. I am so glad we stayed in the house and not hotel rooms. The house had everything we needed (fully equipped kitchen, coffee, spices, washer, dryer and more). The kids loved the games. My husband loved the AC (which worked great). Comfortable living area with large TV. The house was clean and well maintained. We would absolutely stay there again! Warning: be careful of GPS directions. Ours tried to take us down Hite's Cove Trail.
